Meet shadow, our 3rd foal we are raising
She popped out on the trail, whinnies & instant connecting with Silver
Following them off the mountain
Jordan was out riding the range, and noted the stallions all fighting and running the herd on the top range
He skirted around and was heading down the hill, when she popped out. The herd was not near her, she looked sunken and dehydrated (it was in the high 30s) that day.
So she followed along, they stopped along the way several times to get shade and cool down.
She has a swollen naval and some trauma to the umbilical area (very similar to sages)
It’s interesting how they just know they need the support and care from someone. They need the protection and life giving fluids.
At this age, they can not fiend for them selves.
She has been home now for about an week & is doing so much better. Our little herd of foals took her in and they are now inseparable
Thanks for following our wild journey this spring
I did the same thing. I brought a young foal home in the front seat of my truck with the a.c. on. The mom had been struck by lightning and died. I had that little colt for 22 yrs. We called him stormy. One of the best horses I have ever had. I also brought home a little Shetland pony that lost her mom. My two girls bottle fed her raised her trained and broke her to ride. There were a few times I came home from work and my girls had her in the house. Good memories
I will never tire of seeing Jordan in a vehicle with a rescued foal on his lap.
It gets expensive taking in the orphans. Start a paypal & pin it to your page & get a p.o. box so we can send stuff. Every little bit helps.
So , your starting the cutest nursery ever !!! 😂 They are so blessed to have you . Knowing how much work it is , you should put a p.o box up or something so we can possibly help if we can even if small . You guys are awesome !!! 💖💖💖
Thankyou I will add our information

@@TheEleonore18 no the paint did not
Thank God for great people like you helping these beautiful animals. Jordan you have such a gentle touch with the horses. I am so happy to see good horse like you both.
You are such a beautiful & adorable couple 🤗 You have such pure and caring hearts!
Thank you for loving and caring for these sweet orphans. And for Silver, trying to soothe sweet Shadow.
There’s no need to explain the baby horse in the truck. It makes sense lol
I love that he did that. Shows that her life is more important to him than some upholstery.
@@lauraread-mills4193 She was SO CUTE laying there with her little newborn eyes shut, sleeping away. What a precious baby.
No, it shows that they know some people would have some critical comment to make over every little detail so they can seem like a Know-it- All. You can see that by all the Arm-chair-experts in the other comments about medical condition.
@@noahway13 Not true! You don't know, JustKeith. I do though. Ask me anything, and I'll show you up because I'm smarter then u. (yes, kidding!)
@@SteveKasian I like that... you are funny. And I think many comment fights could be avoided if people would put (Just kidding)
I never knew that foals were so snuggly. I can come up for the rest of the summer and help out snuggling the littles. It’s been years since I’ve been riding……but, I’m really good with a shovel. 😁👍🏼
wow i hope they let u do that! foals need a lot of care!!
You two are very special people. Thanks again for saving another baby 🥰🙏♥️ Can't wait to see all of them playing together 🤗
I just love you two. God bless you ALL. Thank you taking us along for the ride.
Let us know a way to donate to the babies (and your household’s) care. You are so kind to take these babies in, we all know how expensive it can get. Maybe put a Zelle or PayPal account on your community and about page?
Amazon Wish List too. :) TY for what you're doing
I tried to figure out Zelle but couldn’t haha we do have PayPal!
@@Camilleshorses Zelle is nice because the money goes right into your bank account, but PayPal works too. As the person above said, Amazon wish list is another way to go to get the things you need. Do you have an Instagram account? That’s really easy to link Amazon and let people know how to contribute. People appreciate what you do and would be honored to help ❤️
Time for more milk money!! For anyone wishing to help, I called the Kamloops Large Animal Clinic and made a credit card payment to their account. Milk replacement is about $120 Canadian (I think). They go through a bunch of it.
Shadow is so appropriate for her name. You guys are awesome!
That is God's country! You both are amazing. These babies know you are there saving grace🙏🙏 Praying for all needs to be met! Amen
Show us video of the three. Looking forward to it.
Thanx soooo much for taken care and rescuing the babies❤❤❤
Beautiful country!! Shadow sounds like she'll be a quick study!!!
Let us know how we can help your family with vet bill etc...if we all pitch in a little... this rescue work won't be as much of a burden.?♡☆♡
She understands that you love her. Candace, your voice and demeanor is just calming. I bet you are a great friend too!!!! My very best from Washington State, Trish
Love the Names you give them . But, more than that !! Great People helping the little Horses to a second and Hopefully a better recover start in Life . AWESOME WRK ..HATs OFF TO YOU BOTH !
Thank you for your kindness, love and mercy...your both awesome!
Candice and Jordan, you're getting better at this video thing and I'm really glad to see it. I want you to get some financial support and this seems to be a good way to get help to work with these foals. Maybe make an Amazon wishlist so that we can send you supplies and support? Maybe a PayPal or venom for vet bills.
Please let us know where we can send you some money to help out with these three beautiful feral foals.
“Jordan” looking forward to your comments. You appear to be a humble man. Watching you use a light hand while training your horses makes me look forward to your next training video. Will these foals be easier to train? I like how you work your horses in a forest environment which is important for a mountain or back country horse.
Could it be to many stallions or pushy stallions bullying the mares when foaling ?
Stallions will kill new born foals. They are jealous and want to bred the mare !!!
@@missy2244 I know they will
As a fellow Kamloopian, I am proud of you guys taking the time, respect, and patience in looking after these three foals.
Every video is just so so heartwarming!!
I love you two, such amazing people & so compassionate with these babies. Those babies certainly knew that you would be the right foster mom & dad! I think there is a too eager stallion in this herd who is pushing these mares too soon, we saw it with Sage, even though she was a bit more traumatised than the other two. I hope we get to see this trio grow into fine horses, Sage & Shadow looks like they will be similar in color to Silver. ❤❤❤
Thank y’all for being there and helping those beautiful animals👍🏻
You guys are just foal magnets at this point
You two are AWESOME! ✌❤
would be great if you had a drone to examine what the cause of this is. Wonder how many foals arent being found. Best of everything to you and thank you for your videos.
That's a fantastic idea. Generally, mares will go away from the herd to have their foals. But I read somewhere that Biden is having the BLM really crackdown on the mustangs all over the country. Creepy freak Biden!!!!!!!!
@@flickaJay to be fair, I dont think this family lives in USA.
Is this location in Canada or the USA?
Sound Canadian. Maybe BC. Speaking in Celsius. USA used fahrenheit.
@@WindTurbineSyndrome Yes Canadian. I wonder if the abandoned foals had a selenium deficiency.
You both are priceless❣️ Love watching you both plus you’re Canadian.
Made my day when you put that foal in the cab of your truck. Exactly what I would have done. Lap foal. I'm sold, had to subscribe.
These babies know you are a loving human and they also know you will care from them the best you can. 💖💕
Where are the mares to these foals ? It concerns me as to weather this is an environment problem , or a physiological one. In any case, tag.. you guys are it. I am in agreement to set up a process where people can donate can help. They are beautiful foals deserving of our Love & Attention for sure. You guys are the best!!!
ok..I have no idea how or what the KZhead algorithm is that put this video on my list..but I'm halfway into the video and hooked. Subscribed.
Someone has found me...again! Clever foal. Oh gosh sleeping in the car
What a beautiful couple you are. Thank you both for taking this challenge of rescued babies. If not you, who? Shadow is just so pretty. What a great addition to the family. Didn't think your channel could get better, boy was I wrong. Thanks again. Keep filming. I'm watching.
Pure heaven. Horses and country. What a sweet baby
They know that they are safe with you! Beautiful!
God blessed Shadow by letting her spot you to follow. And He blesses you for caring for His little horses. Glad to hear she's already settled in with Ranger, and Sage.
Thank goodness their are still ppl like these two! Thank you for all you do!
You guys are the greatest! Thanks for all you do for these special babies. Mustangs are the very best! Smarter and more devoted than any domestic breed for sure.
I’m just a layperson but when I was a child I was always at the barn riding, totally obsessed. Magazines, storybooks, movies, models, anything horse! I thought the mare would leave the herd a little and have a little privacy. She is not under protection from her stallion, so a rogue bandit probably too young to have his own harem, tries to have his way with her while she is vulnerable. She tries to get away or get him away from the baby, the baby is too weak or gets spooked and ends up lost from the mother and herd. And Dr Pol talks about and treats umbilical hernias. Oh and bless you and thanks for being kind to the babies. Best wishes for you and yours.
The way Sage trusted you from the minute you found her was amazing Jordan, she knew she could trust you. 🐎🐎🇨🇦🍁😘
Hello, Candice & Jordan 😊 Thank you so much for rescuing these precious creatures that give us so much joy. I know our Heavenly Father will open the Windows of Heaven for taking such good care of His creation. Love & hugs for everything you do.
You both are so cute and I admire the work that you do. ❤
I’m really impressed with what you do for the foals. I’ve loved horses all of my life and had an Arab mare for 25 years. My friends who bred them used to take tolerably hot towels and wipe/rub down the navels. They said it helps them absorb and eliminate the fluids. Although it didn’t happen often they never lost a foal to infection etc. I’m curious to know if the feral herds are studied at all and if other foals are not left behind this year. Do any others still in the herd have the same issues? Your posts have me totally invested now. Cheers and respect from Vancouver eh!
Well what do you expect - They're American Indians! They have a much greater respect for nature and her creatures than most other folks. Mad respect to the tribes of NA, and to the particular folks who care enough to do the types of things this lovely couple do.
Beautiful country… Looks like a little bit of heaven!!
Bless you for caring so much for these lost little babies who might not make it otherwise.
I've said it before and I'll say it again ... God Bless you lovely people. 🎋💚💚🎋
Hey you TWO. you may not have been looking but God had plans for you. Love you two. God Bless you. ❤️🙏❤️🇺🇸
Love your foals! Thank you so much for sharing your foal stories. I so look forward to the updates and now there are three. Shadow is darling. Many, many thanks for helping these babies. If I had the time, money and acreage, I would rescue horses in need of help. Someone mentioned that if you have a PO Box number we could all pitch in to help with the expense of the foals. Please let us know. You all live in such a beautiful area. Looks like heaven.
I really like your videos, you 2.candice I love 💕you eres hermosa

You guys are the best! God bless you for your efforts to help these foals.
Will y'all adopt me? ❤ what you do...such beautiful people.

They are such beautiful foals. What breeds would be in the background? You both are amazing with doing your best to save these young lives
gracious ! watching this makes me want to help you muck, water, brush and feed those babies..Thank You Silver for being mellow about it. Best of LUCK to you there. ❤️
You guys live in such a beautiful place. We don’t have any mountains like that in Australia. Those foals are lucky souls having found you two. I’m glad you are doing great ❤️
🤔……. I am beginning to think you were ”cursed” to find all the orphaned foals. What an odd and adorable curse to have. It’s gonna be hard work to raise 3 suckling foals without mothers, but they all have the potential to become amazing saddle horses. While it’s best to let horses be horses, being exposed to humans at such a young age will help immensely in training them and for them to be safe around people when they grown up. I hope you adult horses will help teach the foals how to be good horses and horse language.
😊
AWESOME THANKS FOR YOUR GUYS BIENG CHAMPIONS OF HUMANITY 💞🌹😎💪
That landscape! Holy cow!!!! So can I follow you all home too? 🤣 This is a fun story. So this foal can one day tell other horses the story of traveling in the front of the truck with the AC on. 💖💖💖
You know I watch your channel just to hear your beautiful laughter!
You two are absolutely amazing at what you do. Thank you 😇😚😇
You are such a cute and nice couple to be taking in these little horse babies. Really love your videos.
Wow, what a life! I dreamed of this kind of life since a child and now I'm an old lady. Just came on your videos and so enjoying them. Are all your horses feral?
Heros everywhere 🐾🐾🐾🐾💓💓💓💓💓🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I'm sure you guys already know what could happen to these foals, if the mare doesn't leave when the stallion wants them to. If the foal doesn't get up and if the mare stays with the foal, the stallions will stomp on the foals and kill them, so his mare will leave. I have seen this happen twice, now. And it's a horrible thing to watch. So I think all these mares are leaving their foals behind, so easily, because they don't want the stallions killing them. So meanwhile, you guys are finding these helpless foals. Good looking out Jordan, it was either you or death for the little filly. Ranger I believe, found an opening to the other side of the fence and got stuck. And his herd left. Because he was too healthy to be abandoned.
And these foals got abandoned once, so as soon as they see a horse or people, their instincts kick in, that they dont want to be abandoned twice.
Way to go Chevy....wish my dad could have heard that....we couldn't buy anything else.....you are all great people...so glad I found this channel...but family wondering why mom's crying...God Bless
You two are so kind
lucky wee foal to find you...
0:35 That landscape is beautiful. Washington DC
For what its worth, you can find more than a couple stories online about foals being born at the BLM having this injury, and not just mustangs other breeds as well. Online you will read typically it caused when an abscess forms on your horse's umbilical cord or the abdominal wall becomes weakened, causing a hernia...... I would look toward the genetic isolation of your area... I noticed all three babies have signs of being dun. Perhaps a smaller gene pool is increasing the chances of this condition?
Dr Pol is always talking about and showing umbilical hernias
So happy you guys are there for these abandoned babies. Keep up the great work you both are doing. I admire it immensely!! 💖 Many Blessings to both of you and your family. May the tradition of Honouring Mother Earth and the Horses continue. Best Regards and Stay Safe Everyone!! From Ontario, Canada, Jenn. 💖 💖 🇨🇦
LOVE how you handle these babies! You are giving us a great shot of joy watching this happen. Thank you for doing what you are doing and sharing it with us.
God Bless you ANGELS!!! 💜
You’re both ‘foal whisperers’ love it! Watching from Brisbane! MaTeWa!
Could the main stallion be rejecting foals in the herd that are not his?
Keep up the great work with the wild horses and taking in the orphans. Thanks for all you're doing. God Bless
I’m wondering if finding so many orphan foals now is unusual or do you think the herd dynamics have something to do with it? Just wondering if this is normal. I hate to think of other foals out there that get missed but I know that’s nature.
The question I’ve been afraid to ask. Thanks for being the brave one.
definitely not normal.
@@readytogo6569 Well all three babies show dun coloring ( the stripe at least, and at least one looks like it will keep the blue coloring of its eyes... I am wondering if genetic isolation could be increasing certain unhealthy traits.
@@jh7614 I’ve been wondering about a Genetic causation. I hope Sage is never bred. I’d hate for any genetic health problems to be perpetuated. (Not mentioning the boys cuz I’m sure they’ll be gelded.)
@@readytogo6569 for what its worth, for them to be bred in capivity would be alot safer than what happens in the wild, and many breeds are created due to isolation, infact there are several types of mustang due to regiona differences.... i think whether "pure" bred or "mut" you should consult a vet before having a baby. horseyhooves.com/types-of-mustang-horses/ here is a link for the reginal types of mustang, many due to isolation like alot of creatures
She (Shadow) is so sweet!❤ Sage has been my favorite... What has happened with her??
Man, the way you started this clip I thought the wee one had gone......I had to fast forward to check the wee one was fine...lol
Just brings me back to when I was a little girl and used to watch The Lone Ranger, hi ho Silver! These foals are lucky, they would have little chance of survival out there alone. 🤷🏼♀️
Hi. Great job! Lucky little babies for sure. Maybe a new stallion took over a herd ,with already pregnant mares, He is getting rid of them??? Not sure??,stallions may kill or run off offspring that are not theirs? Then the mares cycle back in heat faster? Just asking Thanks
I love yo guys, beautiful hearts you have ❤👌👍
Bless the hearts of people who make their life’s work helping animals!♥️♥️♥️
