Love kenworth and peterbilt, loved even more with detroit and cat engines.
Love this channel I can’t get enough knowledge
Maddie clearly still hasn't learned how to say chil-akoth-E (Chillicothe, OH) strike number 2!😂 Go Buckeyes!
I'm a heavy haul driver in belmont County ohio, I almost lost my shit when she said it wrong , like really ...... sob
I just bought two 2015 Pete 379 sleepers with the MX13 engines for less than $6,000 at an auction, pulling the motors out for a custom job.
best history lessons are right ;) love it
Paccar presents the peterworth W379!
You left out that Paccar owned Wagner Mining Equipment Co for almost twenty years and one big innovation was the introduction of the patented SAHR brake on the ST-8B LHD front end loader for underground mining in about 1988 . This braking system is widely used today in the mining industry because the patents have run out. Ask me how I know I worked on the first ST-8B and all the others to come after that. Then in about 1990 they sold Wagner Mining to Atlas Copco of Sweden.
Great info!
hello. great videos. thank you
The pacaar mx-13 is a great engine. Made me a lot of money and had no issues.
Agreed. As a Production Engineer I preferred this a lot over the MX-11 and older engines. It's simply well thought out. What many Americans don't realise is that it's actually developed in Netherlands for DAF.
Hello from Russia GREAT TRUCKS
Mack are better off road. Trust me. Mack last a lifetime I bought two kenworths in the past 4 years smh
Commonly unknown fact #11, Kenworth and Peterbilt medium duty class 7 models are assembled on the very same production line at the Ste-Thérèse Quebec (Canada) Paccar factory, typically alternating with one truck of each brand down the line.
That is correct
Just another trick manufacturers use to capture the market.
@@lionheart7431 I think it a smart way of manufacturing trucks, plus it depends on how the market is and the demand. In this case if market slows down instead of having two separate factories producing the trucks you have just the one. Production might slow down during those times, but at least they don't have to worry about 2 plants and its workforce.
@@lionheart7431 Lets not forget that Paccars still has these brands under their own identities. So the medium duty lines might go down the same line, the still have there own unique differences.
@@waynenorbreyjr9371 speaking from my own experience l like paccar engines, only issue I have is that annoying check light .
I need to get a new peter built!
Still don't know why people are saying that the W990 is Kenworths controversial truck. It's a totally different truck from the W900, and I've had my W990 for a lil bit over a month and the truck is a great truck to drive. I think the W900 guys need to swallow their pride. If the T800 can have a sidekick with the T880, why can't the W990 be the W900 sidekick?
I still don't understand how saving gas its a bad thing? Plus it's a nice truck
Looks like a sack of assholes
@@ismaela.6973 Definitely is a nice truck
@@frankpeavy4538 No need to be or talk like that, who pissed in your cheerios?
@@ismaela.6973 you'll save all kinds of gas with the 990 since it's not offered with a gas engine
PACCAR owns DAF. That's why the positive fuel consumptions of MX engines are so good.
Yes the video said that.
@@Apocalypse_Cow The video said that PACCAR developed the engine. Engines from the US are non-metric, while the MX-13 is metric. The MX-1 is developed at Brainport Eindhoven The Netherlands. It's the same hometown of ASML.
@@47rintin1 They also build Mx11s that are shipped to daf. I work In the columbus plant.
@@byronfretz8201 All machineries form the US are non-metric, while the MX-11 and MX-13 are metric. DAF Truck has developed these engines and is producing them in Brainport Eindhoven the Netherlands, as well home of other high tech industries like ASML. Probably you have great fantasies that your job is building DAF engines.
@@47rintin1 I think you need to research the Paccar engine plant in Columbus ms, we do intact build paccar engines that go to DAF, all our equipment and engines are metric.
Paccar engine service is available only at the Paccar dealers with proprietary Paccar code readers. Get a Cummins or Detroit.
thanks
PACCAR also or did manufacture at one time train cars under the name. PACIFIC CAR AND FOUNDRY ( which is wat paccar. might stand for)
Wish they would make a engine with more horsepower for pulling Super B's
They could make whatever they want they got very deeeep pockets but it all depend of the demand of the industry
Idk they owned DAF! I love this truck knowledge
PACCAR made a smart move in the nineteens by buying DAF Trucks.
As a tech that worked for Peterbilt and Kenworth. The Paccar MX engine is trash. Save your money and get a Cummins
A Cummins hasn't been shit since they started painting them red! 2005 i think
Lol not true even Cummins is having severe trouble.
Cummins has way way more data on their engines than any other manufacturer. Everyone is having problems but the Cummins will out perform anything else. I always recommend you get the 500,000 mile warranty and be prepared to replace the truck after that. Everything is too costly to fix
Cummings is Chinese owned now. Gone2 shit...
320000 miles...zero issues
I know Jack Meoff personally!
wich one it's bigger? DAF, Kenworth or Peterbilt?
JD powers, "Give us your money and we will say wonderful things about the size and power of your winky". Just saying
Chillicothe- chill-uh-kawthee
right!!
Give me a 397!
The engine MX-13 is developed at Brainport Eindhoven in the Netherlands and is a DAF engine named after the mother of DAF: PACCAR. For this it's strange that in this video there's a number of Peterbilt and Kenworth trucks to be seen and a poor number of DAF trucks, while DAF is a favourite truck in Brazil, after starting to build trucks over there since 2013.
No its developed in Washington state USA
@@victorbernier4765 DAF with the experience of over 60 years building engine, while PACCAR used to buy Detroit Diesel, Cummins and so on? Shut the front door. DAF had a truck in 1988 that won the Paris Dakar rally. What did PACCAR do at that time. Right, buying engines of Detroit Diesel and Cummins.
To be honest I like the W990. They say “It looks weird” as long as it has a diesel it’ll be fine
cool
Ive heard a ton of horror stories about paccar.
I can honestly tell you that driving a stock, untouched PX-9 at 370 HP is a horror. The absolute worst running, gutless engine I have ever driven in my life. Even getting a run for any hill you come across I am constantly dropping gears and reaching for the flashers and turning into a rolling road hazard. This useless engine now makes me despise going to work now, I want my 3406E back!
Garbage might cost me my business thanks paccar
We have received leads to investigate PACCAR wrong doings and would like to receive any feedback or information regarding PACCAR Corporate culture. We have former employees given us detailed account of how PACCAR PARTS Canada had gone after employees that have voiced their concern for product pricing and price fixing. Any feedback is much appreciated as we support consumers rights and hold corporations like PACCAR accountable.
1&10 are basically the same facts
DAF is pronounced DOF And there's an E in Chillicoth-E Ohio.
NO. I'm Dutch and I know it's not DOF. It's pronounced as the last A of Maria. O your languages is so difficult to pronounce. One time the A sounds an E, the other time like an O or an I. For instant ARKANSAS. My God.
I’ve heard nothing good about there engines and would never buy a truck with one
They are damm good Especially the 2020 engines
They are junk. They cant compete with Mack trucks mack been using their own engines sense 1900
Mack. I had one with a Cummins I wouldn’t get a truck with a Mack engine. And after that rig I wouldn’t get one with a Mack transmission ether. Nothing compares to a old CAT! New or old!
@@jessiplourde9121 sadly u can't get a new truck with a cat unless it's a cat truck
@@kiddoutlawe9955 lol u have no idea
I love peterbilt and I def want me a 389 and I also love the 359 and 379 trucks however I wouldn’t buy one with a paccar engine I would rather have the Cummins X15 performance series 605/2050
Should of been announced Kenworth and Peterbilt lol I also would say servicing my W990 is way easier than my old W900 I really know that 990 is a much better driver friendly truck also ! Some people who never have been in one blast their opinion that don't know what the he'll they are talking about ! Bought my first kw in 1977 own a 1984 k125 set back front axle COE a 1994 T800 and a 2022 W990 only bad part about kenworth is MHC they are shit for parts and service !! Bought a 2015 T660 new from them and they took my parts discount away ! Love them Packard engines too
👍😉
A Cummins n-14 in mine please keep your ears & catalytic converters &I hear real well so I don't need Def
The W990 is the best looking truck Kenworth ever made, IMHO
No power that’s what I know... it’s a really bad motor it breaks down all the time
Not true
You’ve obviously never drove one you don’t know what you are talking about at all
@@edwardbaker8225 bs I do drive one and it has power and feul economy together. So try again and to tell you truth I been driving with the mx 13 for 3 years. The only problem is the after treatment. Never had a breakdown with the engine itself. So u want to tell me about not knowing what I'm talking about again.
Victor Bernier It’s a piece of shit dude and I’m gonna tell you again I’m gonna keep telling you again it’s a piece of shit has no power I had bigger exhaust valves and intake valves on my 327 small block Chevrolet gas engine so tough shit dude that’s my opinion
They just love spinning mains bearings, cracking the coolant galleries and also breaking the crankshaft. Once 1M miles rolls by the engine thinks to itself: hmmm what hardship will i cause now? Ooohhhh those main bearings feel a little loose!!!! Its what they do. They break. Not even a nice engine to work on with heat shields everywhere and other components placed hap hazardly around. JUNK
“But but what about Freightligner trucks, there just as good”? “Ya there owned by Mercedes, there garbage”
If Kenworth stops making the w900 model the will go out of businesses
I seriously doubt that cause the T680 and T880 are their best sellers.
The W990 isn't doing to bad either. I'd like to hear the production numbers of the trucks coming off the line.
@@waynenorbreyjr9371 the w990 is ugly
@@lukebecker1959 the w990 is far from ugly. It may not be what people who want trucks to still look like they're from the 70s but far from ugly
Paccar great jd power not so much!
Paccar Engines are made by cummins and thats a fact
No, absolutely not!
The PX engines are made by Cummins. The MX engines are proprietary PACCAR engines based off DAF engines. PACCAR has a MX engine factory in Mississippi.
They can’t make proper truck on diesel now they start designing electrical :( I bought 2019 truck 360,000 miles I’ve been more than six months in the shop transmission twice broke the engine oil pan leaking thermostats & sales licking coolant reservoir the list keeps going and going the cab Jesus The worst design the doors are about a half inch all around smaller than the frame and honey gets cold outside blows the cold air in the truck and the vents on the window blows cold air straight from outside so it’s -20 outside blows to -20 inside that’s how stupid Paccar design they are :( Don’t even talk about the customer service some thing under the warranty takes like one or two weeks till you get on the shop then after is it takes almost a month to get out of the shop so they can make more money from the warrant and you go bankrupt :(
Cfi doesn't use paccar engines i know 4 a fact!
Freightliner out sales peterbilt and kenworth combined by a $#!+ load. Also paccar engines are expensive af to repair and maintain. This from a former tech that worked for both dealerships most of my career
#9, hate it. AT LEAST #10 LOOKS BETTER IN EURO.
Useless fact. Daf Sales world wide support the rest of Paccar to great extent. Since KW is only sold in North America and Aus/NZ and peterbilt North America only.
Did not know that, thanks for watching!
And PACCAR knows. That's why the company started producing trucks of DAF instead of PB or KW.
PACCAR ENGINE STAY AWAY .
Oof. They own Peterbilt? Noooo.
PACCAR is the proud mother of Peterbilt, Kenworth and DAF.
@@47rintin1 This must be why Freightliner Cascadia and Western Star are very appealing.
@@wanderingfido Scania, Volvo, Mercedes and DAF are truck brands you will see all over the world. Freightliner and Western Star only in Northern America. European Trucks you will see even in the narrow streets of old cities, impossible for American trucks. PACCAR is surviving because it bought DAF.
It's ChillicothEE. The "E" is pronounced.
Tells you that she isn't from Ohio. Now say Puyallup.
@@towtruckmafia I believe it is pronounced "pew all up". Yes?
Now of they would make their trucks more durable offroad they would be great.. trucks fall apart off road smh
kidd Outlawe hey at least they made it off road. I hit a speed bump in a parking lot with a Freightliner once. It totaled the dash.
The W990 is the ugliest truck on the road. It looks like the lovechild of a Freightliner and a wrecked International.
990 is ugly , ...... need to rethink that 1
Volvo's are better than DAF's
True. That's why DAF is the number two in Europe and Volvo the number 5 in selling of 16+ tons trucks.
I think he don’t know nothing :( 1. Scamming with APU piece of junk 2. Oil pan scamming 3. Coolant reservoir scamming 4. AC Scamming 5. Transmission piece of junk scamming 6. Cab piece of junk blows cold air everywhere it’s like not 2019 truck 7. Customer service piece of junk garbage the worst customer service you can have 8. Wiring piece of junk 9. Engines piece of junk every time I’m going to the dealer there’s like 3-5 Paccar take apart 10. It doesn’t hold a value like they say better than Freightliner or Volvo all is the same just big scam :( I have a second truck so that’s why I now into thousand 19 I wore their custom truck T-680 2019 piece of junk
You know PACCAR PX series are Cummins engines right?
You say all this but can’t even type in English correctly.
Controversial? W990? No. That would be the T600........34 years ago. THAT was a truly radical departure at the time; and is STILL the ugliest truck Paccar ever made.
The ant eater was very unusual.
My vote is for the T2000 as the ugliest truck.
@@waynenorbreyjr9371 T2000 is definitely a contender.
I was working for the Franklin mushroom farm They bought a couple of them back then All the driver's didn't like them because they we're so ugly
How about the Peterbilt 372?
Stay away from paccar inc
Paccar motors are under power trash and junk
