As a born & bred New Yorker, I’m biased to the bone, but there is nothing like being at a stadium, arena or ballpark of a New York team when they are winning especially during the playoffs. It’s electric & deafening. Now I’m a die-hard Mets, Giants, Knicks & Rangers fan, but I don’t hate but will root for the Yankees, Jets, Bills, Nets, Islanders & Sabres unlike many NY fans. Many of my friends root for other NY team & I lived outside of NY for 8 years in the Army so I know what it’s like to really be in hostile territory. Of course, a Philly & Dallas fans & teams are in a whole other league of despisement of their own which is a whole other order of magnitude of malice. Keep it going Knicks & Rangers. With all the awful crime, chaos, discord & division happening in the country, city & politics New York could use the distraction & the joy of winning to rally around. Let’s Go Knicks! I'm a Philly fan - I'll give the Rangers their due, as they had the best record during the regular season, and I still like Laviolette from when he coached the Flyers. But man, we're getting dangerously close to getting a NY-Boston double-shot in NHL and NBA eastern conference finals... yuck.
I've been at a superbowl, Game 6 stanley cup, Game 6 world series, world cup, and countless other playoff games. But nothing compared to the first round (only!) Ranger's playoff game I splurged on at MSG.
I share your fandom too, and I can respect you rooting for other teams too, but I can't stand Yankees, Nets, and Islanders especially the latter two teams lol.

Rangers have the edge. Canes are good but something is missing for them.
@@JerseyGrove their high volume low quality shots don’t translate well in the playoffs because elite goalies will stop them.
Its still way too early. But it feels like a Bruins/Rangers and Celtics/Knicks ECF in hockey and basketball at the same time are a very real possibility.

Most calls against them were so soft though. They went 0-5 themselves so they shot themselves in the foot, but 7 power plays for any team in the playoffs is a joke. Maybe 3 we’re actually worth a penalty.

Canes had two power plays in overtime. Can’t blame the refs. They had their chances.
@@JerseyGrove Yeah, but those were clear calls. The Skjei penalty was a joke.
I myself thought it was a weak call too, but the league is cracking down on cross checking and Skjei did push Trocheck down. In years past this probably would not have been a penalty. Both teams had soft penalty calls against them.
Did they call cross check or tripping? Either way it looked like a weak call. Sad I missed this game
Won’t matter if the canes can’t score on their own PP. it’s not like the refs are only favoring the rangers, lots of weak calls on both sides. The canes have been gifted 10+ PPs so far in 2 games. That’s insane. Not going to win any series, weak call or not if you score zero PP goals 😂.

There are plenty of botched calls and missed ones. In the end it all evens out. It happens to every team.. It’s just part of the game. Rangers won fair and square.
