  • Yet the powers do little to stop such unhealthy foods to saturate the market - why? Follow the money! That’s right, their handlers and those in power profit from the system….at least in the short term.

    • any time a government tries to do anything sensible to improve public health (regulations against unhealthy foods, smoking, pollution etc) the British Gammons lose their minds and get furious that anyone should dare give them advice on how to not become obese or get cancer. They then proceed to become obese, get cancer and complain about how the health service is overrun and no-one wants to work anymore.

  • Fructose is metabolised like alcohol by the human body, is just as damaging, is highly addictive, and actively suppresses the satiety hormone. Excessive fructose consumption leads to metabolic syndrome (which you can get without the visible obesity); a widespread collapse of your health. Fructose is in everything, and not just the obviously sugary things, but pasta sauces, condiments, any pre-packaged meals, even some bread. It's in all fruit juices, because fructose is fruit sugar. It also tends to hide behind different terms on packaging. We feed it to our children in huge quantities. Kids and grownups love it so, right? When you give a kid a bag of sweets, or an ultra-sugary breakfast cereal, or even give them a glass of orange juice, you may as well have given them a bottle of booze. Then everyone turns around, blinking stupidly, going "Huuurrr... why everyone sick? Why all the kids got no attention span? Hurrr."

  • I dunno, maybe pay people more instead of being greedy in your posh houses, buying up all the homes in seaside towns and then renting them for astronomical prices and maybe then you'll see a better work force gammons. Middle Class people buying up homes, renting them out and then using that money to pay its mortgage should be illegal but isn't. Britain has some of the worst area inequality in the G7... meanwhile, gammons complain that its people's fault they are poor when an average wage isn't enough to cover rent, let alone bills. (Correction, it will buy you a damp hovel where a landlord can repeatedly refuse to fix it because there is no law saying that they have to pay for improvements, they just blame the tenant for it and steal their deposit. Meanwhile, you and your kids get constant infections due to mold - 21st Century Britain everyone! Lets wave a flag... so proud.).
