  • 6kg is basically 2 to 3 Tonka Trucks per day. So the karinafarek pokemon is one of those cautionary tales parents tell their kids about putting their toys away when they're done playing in the yard. But the kids don't always listen, and then one day they're looking out a window and this house-sized pokemon has scuttled onto the lawn and is nibbling all their toy trucks away.

  • Karina's pokedex entry made me think of some big plant thing that grows in, like, abandoned car lots or old scrap yards. And it slowly breaks down cars for nourishment, kind of like how plants reclaim abandoned buildings n stuff ovo. Hence the slow rate of car eating and also the poison-grass typing (cuz,, idk pollution) I have no idea what the seed aspect of it would be I just wanted to share my initial idea uwu

  • The Indian elephant thing is there bc that phrase used to be in Raichu's original pokedex entry. It was later retconned bc it implied that normal animals exist in the Pokémon universe. Now Raichu's entry says that they can incapacitate a Copperajah, and their design was inspired by Indian elephants.

  • the best bit about karina's pokemon is how little of a truck it eats. its 24 ft tall and weighs 1518 pounds but eats 12 pounds of multi-ton truck a day

  • A few additional fun facts about these Pokémon: - nathanyaffe has many regional forms. The type stays the same, only the socket and plug changes. - When walking, jacobandrews makes the same sound as the walking Nintendo N in the intro scene of Banjo-Kazooie. - 6kg of truck per day is less than a single tire. Death is extremely slow and painful for karinafarek's prey, also because it spews acid on them to aid digestion. - julialepetit is basically me, save for the fortune part (I'm also covered in moss)

  • Drawing suggestion: draw each other into an isekai. Example- Nathan is king of dinosaurs in a prehistoric world; Karina uses a Digimon deck in a YuGiOh-esque dimension; Julia is a Drawtective in an isekai full of vampires; and Jacob is the leader of a bunch of little guys rebelling against hot villains.

  • To answer the drawfee question of "why normal animal?" it was an oversite of the first season of the animation! Basically, no one in the first few years asked if real animals were a thing, it's only towards the 2000s when the popularity started to jump that the company sat down and went "okay what are the rules in this reality we've crafted."

  • Suggestion: In the last episode, you joked about a Cheers tournament arc where they have to remember everyone’s name. What if you drew famous sitcoms as anime? An iconic Seinfeld conflict in the style of Nichijou, The Office as a Pop Team Epic style 4-koma, or I Love Lucy as a shoujo, for example.

  • The KarinaFarek mostly consumes trucks that have already been stunned and captured by the KarinaFarek's parrent. Dilfasaur nests are often found in the middle of wide open spaces that have plenty of Trucks nearby to hunt. They can often be found near Highways or in especially large parking lots.

I'm pretty sure that this is just the baby form of the Easter Bunny, and that it gains Fairy typing when it evolves, like how Bunnelby gains Ground typing when it evolves.

  • It's probably been said already but in the early generations of the game Pokemon were in the real world, Raichu's dex entry references Indian elephants, Lt. Surge is known as the "Lightining American" However somewhere along the line the world of Pokemon became separate yet inspired by the real world. Unova is symbolic of America. References to Indian elephants now reference Copperaja. I believe that real life animals don't exist in the world of pokemon, when a dex entry labels a mon as a fish or a mouse it's not because those animals exist in that world it's more like a scientific name vs a common name. What is this creature? Well it's a mouse but the proper name of the species is Pikachu.

  • 4:30 I can explain why Indian Elephants specifically as well as normal animals are mentioned here. Back before pokemon was a super huge franchise, they hadnt established that pokemon were the only types of animals to exist. Infact, animals that werent pokemon existed because they didnt want the implication of people eating pokemon early on. This is why in early anime episodes you'll see normal fish in Misty's gym, and in early pokemon cards you can see things like frogs and fish, such as the frog sat beside an Oddish in one of its first cards. Raichu's dex entry was the one that referenced it electrifying an Indian Elephant. India has seen been retconned out of pokemon, with Cuphant and Copperajah being native to an unnamed region colonized by Galar inspired by India. Basically, back when Pokemon was new, Pokemon were a tertiary species to animals and humans, once it became huge and marketable, it made more sense to just make more pokemon to take the place of traditional animals. and i mean. there are still creatures in pokemon that arent pokemon. the Ultra Beasts are beings from other dimensions that are not pokemon, Deoxys is an alien virus that is debatively a pokemon, and surprisingly, Lugia was not intended to be a pokemon, and wasnt even intended to be in the games. It was originally designed as Creature X solely for a movie, and against the wishes of its creator who just wanted to make a motherly and caring animal who didnt want it to fight- it became the box legendary for Silver and later Soul Silver. TL:DR Pokemon was intended as just a niche anime and game that skyrocketed past their wildest dreams, so any non-kid friendly stuff such as nudity on pokemon cards, weapons like whips and guns in the games and anime, references to gambling, and references to real world animals were removed to make a massive franchise. additional: Remnants still remain of these old things such as gamers replacing gamblers, the move vine whip, Ultra Beasts as non-pokemon, and the Pokemon manga which saw the list of "dont do this in pokemon" and used it as inspiration for a manga, featuring nudity, gore, zombified pokemon, dead pokemon, crucifixions, fusion of pokemon, fusion of human and pokemon, pokemon human hybrids, yeah pokemon adventures is a thing to be sure.
