What’s the difference between our CIP and CIP+ M5 DBM? It all comes down to the magazines.
CIP is built to run the CIP length AICS (#6715) magazine with an outside overall length of 3.840”. The CIP+ is made for Accurate Mag and MDT 3.850” CIP length magazines. Running a 3.850” in a CIP will give you a tight fit. The smaller CIP AICS will have .01” of extra clearance in the CIP+, making for a sloppy fit.
The AICS 6715 is also only made for Lapua calibers, where the MDT & Accurate magazines have options for Lapua bolt face calibers, along with standard and magnum bolt face cartridges.
Check out the video where, Kenny, talks about the differences and why you’d pick one over the other.
