  • It's really cool that she now has the skills of both a power forward and a guard. Paige truly is special, I don't know another player who would have adapted into a new role like this.

    • Yeah, she’s really gotten better this year. I think it all started when she practiced with Tina Charles last year the first time. She has certain go to moves that she usually doesn’t miss on, and she will call for the ball and make those moves happen. She also makes better steals, and this year she runs it right down for the lab herself. She will be a great pro

    • Auriemma should have taken half of practice for the entire month of February and Made the guards shoot threes, and then the Bigs shoot low post moves and very short jumpers. I think in the month of February it would’ve been good to have the guards shooting 150 three pointers during the second half of practice every day. UConn will be in trouble if they need a team that shoots a lot of threes and makes them. Uconn is not good at making three-pointers under pressure when they have to make them to stay in the game.

    • She had 4 opportunities for assists but her teammates missed the shots, including 2 layups. She's also playing 4, so she's posting and moving without the ball. When she runs the offense as a pg, she gets a lot and runs the P&R better than anyone. Even in transition, they want Nika and the freshmen to get the experience, it's a must to have any chance in March.

  • Paige Bueckers posting up in the paint is a dream come true for me. Nikki Muehl faking one way, and then, shooting a pull-up jumper at the free throw line is a wish come true. Edwards augmenting her game with jumpers from the top of the key makes me drool. KK driving like the Energizer Bunny, and then, balancing it with a wide-open elbow J, "Sweet dreams are made of this". Ash ripping a ball out of a 'Nova Girl's arms: that was sexy. Cadence stabbing "Nova in the heart with her corner shots. Yes. "Sweet dreams are made of this. Who are we to disagree. I've traveled the world and the seven seas, but I've never seen anything as sweet as this." Of course, there was more: Ash hitting J's from the corner & Cadence showing off her verticality & shooting touch. Nikki coming back after getting a hip-pointer from Lucy Olson. I don't know how far these girls will get against JuJu, Betts and Brink, but if Geno can come up with a plan that keeps Brink, Betts, & Watkins occupied and out of the paint, Paige can light up the scoreboard with her post-up magic. I'm thinking "revolving door, post-up", but he's the guy with 1,204 wins.

    @chestermicek@chestermicek2 ай бұрын
    • -- True. This game was the most post-up moves I’ve ever seen from Paige. She calls for the ball and posts up and spins on her pivot foot, just like an NBA player. I also like Nico driving down the lane and shooting pull up jumpers, it’s like she learned that from Paige or she’s imitating Paige. I remember all last year I used to wish Nika would drive to the basket and take jumpers, i’m psyched now that she’s finally doing it.

    • Betts and Brink will be touch for AE, she's always struggled against really big opponents, but her improved outside game may help open that up and get them in foul trouble on her drives. JuJu is just a gunner. She shoots very mediocre % (41% from field and 31% from 3)and isnt a classic playmaker and cant play D. I'd be very happy to see her take 30 shots against KK, Muhl or Shade. 3/4 time UConn wins that scenario going away.
