    • As a small child I found this picture in an encyclopedia we had at home, but was too young to read the inscription. I would often get the book out to look at the picture, eventually my mother ask me what I like about it. I remember saying she looked so peaceful and pretty, I asked her tell me the story behind the picture. I found it so sad that I stopped going back to the book, this is the first time I have seen the picture in years.

  • A breathtakingly gorgeous piece! Easily one of my favorites! For those curious, the story behind Ophelia comes from the Shakespeare play Hamlet. She is a noble woman that ends up going mad because of Hamlet's actions, and accidentally drowns herself when she falls from a willow tree. I highly recommend reading or watching the play =D

  • I have a special thing about this painting, and seeing it in diorama form is special to me because it represents my depression, how i feel it and how i process my sadness. EDIT: when they started painting the 3d printed Ophelia i immediatelly started crying. And the end result was absolutely breathtaking, i never thought that a diorama could cause me such deep emotional response.

I had never seen it before or knew anything about it, but I loved it so much that I bought a postcard of the painting. Now, whenever I look at it, I think of that day, the day after I met the man of my dreams, who has now passed away a few years back. So this painting will always be bittersweet to me. Fantastic to see other art works about it!

Many, many years later I got to see the painting in London and it was everything I hoped for and more. The astounding botanical detail alone was mind-boggling. Your 3-D piece is as amazing and also fascinating to watch. I had a great biography of Lizzie Siddell but gave it away to a fellow art nut. I encourage anyone who is mesmerized by this work to pursue looking into her tragic life.
