  • A cowboy buys a horse from the town pastor. The pastor explains, “To make the horse go, you gotta yell, ‘Thank God!’ And to make it stop, yell, ‘Hallelujah.’” The cowboy rides away. He rides all day and starts to nod off in the saddle when he notices he is about to ride straight over a cliff. Searching his memory, he yells to the horse, “Hallelujah! Hallelujah!” The horse grinds to a stop just at the edge of the cliff. The cowboy wipes the sweat off his forehead. “Phew!” the cowboy sighs. “Thank God!”

  • They ride aggressively, fast, with such determination and courage, just like warriors used to ride centuries ago. This game was originally called chovgan, a military tactics game played in Asia to train cavalry units of Iranian and Turkic warrior peoples. No coincidence that it was British military officers who were impressed with it, renamed it polo and spread it throughout the world.

  • What a beautiful game for the horses. Horses these days, at least in the first world, don't have fun lifes. They are usually owned by little girls who want to ride, they are in high stress tournament situations and have to listen to a lot of commands and 99% of their time they spent in their box eating and sleeping. But in Polo they still have to follow some rules, but they get to be social with other horses and run around and use their energy.

  • Riding is all about the ultimate spiritual experience - It’s the separation of your consciousness (or soul, as some would call it) from your physical body. Yes, it's that cool. In fact, there are theories that claim you're already astral projecting when you sleep. Most of us just lose recollection of it when we awake. So the riding is being able to do this while being "conscious" of it. Rissala Polo Club.

It was further developed and formalised in ancient Iran (Persia) as "chovgan" (čowgān), becoming a national sport played extensively by the nobility. Women played as well as men. It was also a training game for cavalry units, usually the royal guard or other elite troops. The Turks later brought the game to India in the 15th and 16th centuries.

  • Cool scenes 👍🏼 The original name in persian is "Chogān" it's a ancient Iranian sport! Sport of kings. Its not a rich man sport in its homeland! Its a military sport. Both women and men could play. Take note Britannia ,you gonna add this to your newer propaganda movies "this game was played mostly by emperor's knights in Persia, this is why the knights of persia were the best all the way to late medival era. So it was called sport of kings cus kings guards "shahswaran" battled eachother on a blood dry battle ground " Few years later british gonna make movies about medival knights playing chogān and get goosebumps about their fake man made identity. Every nomadic person used to play it to practice their cavalry skills and challenge themselves.

  • 🤔...If Ralph Lauren made a Polo Sweater that read... 76 Loop with the horses ready to go out on the field in the front but when you looked in the mirror it read 67 Polo with them playing would you buy it 😁 🙋🏾‍♀️ Everyone would be asking who designed Loop🤣

  • I have been in equine sports hospitals and seen stall after stall filled with horses who had leg injuries. This all due to the "sport" the owner chose to participate in. It's impossible for me to wrap my mind around the morality of doing something like this, in fact the only word I can use to describe it is despicable.

  • Um im a gentle woman tho. Also I never considered polo but i like i more then all the other diciplines . I plan to do edurance riding for sport but maybe this wi fit in as well 0-0 if i get two horses. Because my first choice is a shire as my first horse and i dont think that would help playing polo with a giant beast of a horse.
