Kim has been travelling by train for every state visit since becoming leader in 2011. Travel by train is since his grandfather and his father already does. Not just Russia only. Also they does travel by train to China and other Aisa nations too. So there's no suprise to him now. Would appear to be more like an extension of his palace, on rails. Think of how much you miss trying to peer through the clouds at 30,000 ft. Why did Kim Jong-un travel to Russia by train? Because it is tradition thing. Many years ago Joseph Stalin and Kim Il-sung, both prefered to travel by train. Now Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un, also both prefer to travel by train. Because trains are safer and more comfortable than planes. Also planes movements tracked by mandatory transponders and radars, but trains movements more private, hidden from public. Also his train protected from radars and fire attacks.
