In this eye-opening Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) showdown, I, a dedicated blue belt, go toe-to-toe with an accomplished black belt. The match begins with a surprising twist as I manage to get a swift tap from the black belt, demonstrating that even underdogs can rise! 😤 But don't miss the second half where the black belt reclaims his ground, showcasing a masterclass in BJJ skills and making a comeback that could only be described as epic. Whether you're a martial arts enthusiast or just enjoy an enthralling contest, you'll want to stick around until the end! 👑

  • A new purple belt asked me to roll after recording his roll with other smaller purple belt. So I switched it up on him and tapped him out 3x in 5 min. He posted the other rolls, but not ours. 😂

  • How long have you been a blue belt and what weight? I can’t tell from the videos. Do you prefer Gi or No Gi? Love the videos.

    • I've been a blue belt for over two years now. I may get my purple belt this year. These days I prefer Gi... Gi gives me more options than nogi... Nogi requires more athleticism imo. lol. Thank you for your comment bro 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿

  • Great roll. Whenever we can defend, tap or at least threaten a higher rank, it's proof that our skill gap is closing with them. The last couple rolls I seemed to be in a transitioning stage. I'm a blue belt, and I rolled with one of the brown belt coaches who has tapped me out multiple times before. But my last roll I defended and escaped all of his position and submission attempts. He was really going hard after his first few failed submission attempts. But I survived the full 10 min. Which made me very happy. I then rolled with another student who had had 4 stripes on his blue belt for many months and might have been a purple belt or close to it. I didn't know for sure because it was no gi class. But I reversed him when he had me in side control and we kept going back and fourth between attacking and defending. Then at the next class I rolled with a newer student who wrestled all through high school and I submitted him 4-5 times. He caught me once with a surprise ankle lock that wasn't too technical but I didn't want to take any chances so I tapped just to be on the safe side.

    • Bro that's awesome! Sometimes it's hard to notice our improvements but one way to do so is by not getting destroyed by higher belts 😅 Thank you for you comment bro and I'm praying you continue to get better over time!! 🙏🏾

    • We have a rule about new students playing with legs, b/c it's way too easy to spaz out as either the locker or lockee, and someone getting hurt. Usually we allow leg locks at blue belt

    • @@dezdaking I recognize that knee shield, it's a personal favorite of mine. The key is to smash the knees but also isolate his hips, otherwise he will keep escaping. But that is easier said than done 😉

  • Years ago we never bragged about who we beat or tapped out in practice muchless film it to get likes. This is all about pride. You don't even give the BB proper respect. I've heard more motivation and energy from Gloomy Eeyore from Winnie-the-Pooh.

We are good friends and I asked him if it was ok to record and post this. We both love and respect each other. Do yourself a favor and stop assuming things you don't know anything about. 🙏🏾

  • turtling is not wrong- especially when the guy is about to pass. BUT the one thing about turtling or turning your back, you ABSOLUTELY MUST seal off and protect your underhooks. if you leave your underhook space wide open then they can get grips and break down your crappy turtle very easily. And you also need to have a solid tight defensive base when you turtle- ready to grip fight, prevent the opponent from getting solid grips on you or connecting his hands and controlling you. you should always be trying to offbalance him ie 5:35 you see your arms are WIDE open and both elbows on the floor so your arms are not effective nor really active. that gave him the space to shoot in to attack the neck. I would recommend checking out Priit Mihkelson and Eduardo telles on turtle stuff

    • Bro this is great advice! I've actually been working on not allowing my opponents to get their hooks in when I'm turtle but I seem to be too focused on protecting my neck that they get the hooks in anyway 😅 And as u said, this time, my hands weren't even active... Definitely something I have to work on before my next competition.. Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
