  • OC: GROM LIFE 4 LIFE. I freaking love my Grom. Over 14 years of street riding, 6+ years of track days and growing up riding dirt bikes, the Grom is easily top 2 bikes I've ever rode. The sheer kicks and giggles and doing ALL of the wheelies will leave a near permanent grin on your face. Also no body shaming from me, I'm 6'3" and weight 193 and I've been told I look ridiculous on my Grom but I give 0 F*cks for those opinions. It's all about having fun with mini bikes. Additionally I've been pulled over for speeding on my Grom, but only once and she was super cool. Once I told her my other bike was a RSV4 Factory limited she nodded and said "No wonder you're a little speed demon on that thing". She then proceeded to ask if she could give it a try in the parking lot and I said go for it. She turned off her body camera and that should've been a huge sign of what's to come. She spent the next ten minutes riding around the parking lot and doing a few wheelies. I didn't get a ticket, but made a lifelong friend in the end and just recently she bought a Grom and made it the brightest shade of pink I've ever seen.

There’s just something so lighthearted and fun about how light, small, and cute they are. Even as a big dude, I love it, and just puts a smile on everyone.

Unless you're riding in a large group with wheelies going left and right of you. Also this is definitely a good timing to have it fresh on your mind for when you do the PAPIO SS first ride. 😎🤙🏼

I can't freaking wait, I had a bit of a go on one recently (literally just sat on it and did some revs, walked it back and forth cos my test isn't for a couple weeks yet) and I looooved it.

  • Nailed on with the city comments, i have 2 routes i can take to work a coutryside and city ride. Doing country side with hills and long drags the grom is very tiresome and you can get fed up pretty quickly, however through city traffic its unreal and never feels left behind. Not being seen solved with loud exhuast, i also found riding is 1000x better with wider bars

  • Chase, hey, new rider from one state over (the motorcycle I ended up getting this past summer is one you haven't reviewed -- CB500F, though not the latest generation), and I have to say, as someone who hadn't previously been on a motorcycle, your observation about where and how the Grom fits into what style and place of riding is precisely why I didn't consider a similar class of bike as my first. But they do seem like they're fun as f@$% to ride! Funny thing about the locations of controls: They're basically identical on my Honda as the Grom (gasp! Shock and surprise!!), and the placement of the turn signals is more intuitive to me than the bikes at the Harley dealership's 350X motorcycles at the beginner rider course. Then again, I bought my motorcycle before taking the course, and played around with it a little bit, so that may be why. I kept blowing the freakin' horn when we did the lane changing portion.

  • I got a ticket riding my Grom... I was a fairly new rider when I got my Grom in 2015. One day I was riding back home and there's an empty road that led to my apartment complex. It's a 35mph limit but I liked going 45 (...because Grom) and I got pulled over right as I was getting into the parking lot. The officer told me he pulled me over for speeding, and claimed he caught me going 62mph. 😂 I looked at my bike then back at him and said "Really?!" He took my license and came back saying that he's gonna let me go this time, but unfortunately... It was a new bike and I hadn't gotten insurance on it.. and it was a couple days past the time limit to get it or something like that. So I ended up with a ticket anyway :(

  • You should make a documentary about the motovlogging scene back in the day and interview all the old moto guys like Dan, jake baker, sub d, 6 foot 4 honda, and motonosity to name a few. You guys had such a crazy couple years and it was so amazing. I would love to see someone with your passion for both filming and bikes make that documentary. I've been a huge fan of yours for years and love everything you've done.

    • @@jaredbowles4202 I know that's what gave me the idea. He just talked about everyone quickly. It was an awesome video but an actual documentary where either Dan or chase go and meet up with every one for a ride and get an interview about those crazy couple years where motovlogging was the biggest thing on KZhead would be so awesome. I mean like either a series with each motovlogger getting an episode or a 2 hour long documentary

  • Maybe someone can answer me this, I’m a big guy right around 290 pounds and a flatbed trucker, I’m thinking about getting a grom so when I’m parked for the night I can get around the town for food and crap. Don’t really want to ride it on highways much, just mostly around to stores and shops. Anyone know how it handles with more weight on it or hell is it even recommended with a guy my size?

    @AHomeInTrucking@AHomeInTrucking3 ай бұрын
    • Get an ebike. You can charge it while your working and it will be easier to get on and off or in and out of the truck.

  • Like scooters they are cute bike for only neighborhood and city streets. They are dangerous on freeways, expressways, interstates, and highways including most back roads. There are literally thousands of Groms, Navis and Monkeys for sale with low mileage because the novelty wore off. Spend a couple thousand more a buy a bike that will give you freedom to ride anywhere.

    @fixento@fixento3 ай бұрын
    • They're not. People have taken Groms around the world. Lots of people have ridden across America with them on roadtrips. A Grom can do anything you want it to do, you just have to go at it with the right mindset and understand its limitations. It's a great bike, and I am legitimately confused that you clearly don't own one yet seem to have this solid opinion that they're just not good for actual... biking.
