OC: GROM LIFE 4 LIFE. I freaking love my Grom. Over 14 years of street riding, 6+ years of track days and growing up riding dirt bikes, the Grom is easily top 2 bikes I've ever rode. The sheer kicks and giggles and doing ALL of the wheelies will leave a near permanent grin on your face. Also no body shaming from me, I'm 6'3" and weight 193 and I've been told I look ridiculous on my Grom but I give 0 F*cks for those opinions. It's all about having fun with mini bikes. Additionally I've been pulled over for speeding on my Grom, but only once and she was super cool. Once I told her my other bike was a RSV4 Factory limited she nodded and said "No wonder you're a little speed demon on that thing". She then proceeded to ask if she could give it a try in the parking lot and I said go for it. She turned off her body camera and that should've been a huge sign of what's to come. She spent the next ten minutes riding around the parking lot and doing a few wheelies. I didn't get a ticket, but made a lifelong friend in the end and just recently she bought a Grom and made it the brightest shade of pink I've ever seen.
Please marry her
@@HezyTech I already have a gf and besides that would require my goober cop friend getting a divorce and ALSO being into guys.
Motorbikes are for fun. You love yours, is all that matters! Myself, I'm planning on a DAX since they're here in Europe.
I love the grom. It’s great. I recently picked up a z125 and love it too. They’re such a riot
I enjoyed reading your story. The Grom was my first bike. I will always have a soft spot for it. My current bike is similar to the Grom, an MT07
Used to watch you when I had a grom in college and 'upgraded' to a cbr250 after I graduated, which ended up making me stop riding as I wasn't very confident on it. Few years later I'm thinking about getting a grom again. Great to see you still making content :)
Started on a 400. Ended up keeping it and getting a Grom for stunts in addition instead of getting bigger bike. Could not be happier. Ride the Grom twice as much as my 400
As an owner of a V4S, a 400ABS, and a Grom, it gets the most use out of all my bikes by far. I absolutely love it! So much fun.
It's crazy how Honda will just not give us a Grom300
It's gotta be to keep costs down and maybe a little bit of making sure the market for other motorcycles are still there. Then again, they make a full sized 125cc under the CB lineup, so who knows really
Yeah but I want a more potent tiny-bike, not a bigger 125. I'm saving up for a cbr650r anyway, what am I gonna do with a 125, could also just keep my cb500f in that case.@@mehsomething
grom 1100
Would save us from haveing to do the swap ourselves for sure
A 1100cc Grom is dumb, where is the fun in that.@@crumbcake11
I’ve had almost every style of bike, and out of everything, the Super Cub 125 (same motor as the Grom) is by far my favorite. It’s currently my only bike. There’s just something so lighthearted and fun about how light, small, and cute they are. Even as a big dude, I love it, and just puts a smile on everyone.
Listen bro the supercub is too scootery for me. I dont like how slow it is but its weight and nimbleness makes it a lot of fun for the price.
Bought this Grom a few days after Chase rode it.
OC: sound test was amazing...note to self: take a tripod with me for future first rides. Minis definitely get away with more things. Unless you're riding in a large group with wheelies going left and right of you. Also this is definitely a good timing to have it fresh on your mind for when you do the PAPIO SS first ride. 😎🤙🏼
OC! Chase I love the first ride series you got going! I've been thinking about grabbing a papio or grom recently, but I recently came across a Genuine Motorcycles G400C. They're not too common, but I would love to hear your thoughts on the bike if you ever get your hands on one for a first ride!
Love my 2024 Grom gets lots of looks and lots of fun
Got an OG grom in 2014 and I still ride it a lot! Great on gas and a blast!
Im hype I was able to experience the mini moto life with all the homies. grom day in jax and what not. what a great time. currently looking for 2nd gen groms, might have to get another haha
I use to take my z125 on the highway. Our speed limit is 55mph. It would do 70 with the tune and tall gearing. Impressive for a 4 speed gear box but it was pinned at 70
Had a 2019 Grom and out 4K miles on it before selling. Loved it. However i recently chose a 2020 Vespa Primavera 150 over the 2022 Grom. I’m above average size at 6’5” 275lbs. I like the comfort and higher top speed of the Vespa. Plus under seat storage is great.
I'm getting a Grom because I am 4' 11" tall, my inseam is 27" and my arms are fairly short too so the Grom is basically a normal sized bike for me proportionately speaking haha. I can't freaking wait, I had a bit of a go on one recently (literally just sat on it and did some revs, walked it back and forth cos my test isn't for a couple weeks yet) and I looooved it.
I am 5'1" with 27.5" and thinking about getting a grom as my first bike as well.
Nailed on with the city comments, i have 2 routes i can take to work a coutryside and city ride. Doing country side with hills and long drags the grom is very tiresome and you can get fed up pretty quickly, however through city traffic its unreal and never feels left behind. Not being seen solved with loud exhuast, i also found riding is 1000x better with wider bars
OC I have the 2021 Honda Monkey and I am loving it !!!
just bought another bike but this is probably the one bike ill never get rid of. so much fun, so many cheap upgrades u can do, cheap insurance and so good on gas!
Drove my 17 Grom from Albany all through the Adirondacks years back. Great times
Yesterday I bought a Z125 Pro for my son. I have never had so many funny looks from other drivers and even got wave from a Harley rider. It was a lot of fun!
I must say, I have a CBR250R and it gives off "big grom" vibes. I have recently started clowning around on it a bit more, skidding the rear tyre etc. It gets a lot of ride time as its just less intimidating than bigger bikes. Samll bikes are a lot of fun. I'd have a Grom in a heart beat.
Ohhh I miss my grom. One of the funnest bikes out there
Im 6 foot 2 inches tall, and fit my 2023 grom perfect. Added a tall wind screen, amd i can push 60 mph without tucking. (After break in period) also, i get over 100 mpg.
How much do you weigh? I am 270 and my Grom's top speed on a flat road is 52 mph.
Im definitely thinking on this for sure.🤔🏍️🙏
Hi Chase and the rest of the Chaseontwowheels crew!🤙🏽 How about another mini bike test?! The new Papio XO-1. 👌🏾
Cbr600, alcohol Banshee, and Honda 50 (with various others) owner. Just got the 2024 Grom. One of the most fun iv had! But agree…. The turns signal and the lights need to be switched. Other then that, no issues! Even ride 2 up with my kiddo sometimes. I’m 5’7” 147lbs. Have hit mid to upper 60s
OC: Working thanksgiving and now I think I'm buying a Grom. Was planning to get a Ruckus but the clips if you cutting through traffic and going about 50mph makes more sense for my commute.
It’s a great time. The CFMOTO Papio is also fantastic. That’s what I have
Chase, hey, new rider from one state over (the motorcycle I ended up getting this past summer is one you haven't reviewed -- CB500F, though not the latest generation), and I have to say, as someone who hadn't previously been on a motorcycle, your observation about where and how the Grom fits into what style and place of riding is precisely why I didn't consider a similar class of bike as my first. But they do seem like they're fun as f@$% to ride! Funny thing about the locations of controls: They're basically identical on my Honda as the Grom (gasp! Shock and surprise!!), and the placement of the turn signals is more intuitive to me than the bikes at the Harley dealership's 350X motorcycles at the beginner rider course. Then again, I bought my motorcycle before taking the course, and played around with it a little bit, so that may be why. I kept blowing the freakin' horn when we did the lane changing portion.
Same. I rode my Grom before the MSF course, and inadvertently hit the horn on the MSF bike several times!
Have a z125 at home and it’s a blast. Everyone in the family blasts around on it
Great Video! Quick question. How are you getting the third person shots? Lol. They are clean af
I got a ticket riding my Grom... I was a fairly new rider when I got my Grom in 2015. One day I was riding back home and there's an empty road that led to my apartment complex. It's a 35mph limit but I liked going 45 (...because Grom) and I got pulled over right as I was getting into the parking lot. The officer told me he pulled me over for speeding, and claimed he caught me going 62mph. 😂 I looked at my bike then back at him and said "Really?!" He took my license and came back saying that he's gonna let me go this time, but unfortunately... It was a new bike and I hadn't gotten insurance on it.. and it was a couple days past the time limit to get it or something like that. So I ended up with a ticket anyway :(
I bought a Grom a few weeks ago, lotsa fun but the speedo is about 8-9% optimistic
Super cute I love that blue
that's the 24 model in raspberry blue, the 23 came in matte black metallic, cherry red, and force metallic silver
From the Honda 125cc mini bike line up i would definetly get the Dax, i just love how it looks. Last spring there was one at a motorcycle exhibition and i had to instantly jump on one and i was so excited about it. Girlfriend did not approve of it, she was like wtf is that and why do you like it.
Women. 😏
As a Grom owner myself it really is a lot of fun. On the streets, you'll rarely stretch a 600cc to its full capacity, but you will with a Grom.
great video
Thanks!! -Avi SF
GROM SQUAD!
Must not be stock front tire air stem, my buddy and I both have the 90 degree stems front and back, both bought straight from the Honda dealer
Bought 1 same color 2 weeks ago waiting for the dealership to deliver it xD
When I stopped by the shop and saw a grom outside, I didn’t expect Chaseontwowheels reviewing it haha
Looks fun to ride in the mountains 🌄
I got a used Indian Scout a 21 with 450 miles on it thought I’d save some money on it Instead of buying a new one. Rode it for about 600 more miles and then it’s been in the shop with electrical issues ever since. Apparently the ECM went and it’s not under warranty. The whole situation just makes me not feel like riding anymore
i have an '08 cbr125. very simlar size and engine. Its a very fun bike to boot around on in town. i look rediculous on it as im 6'4 hahaha but its a very fun bike
I still want a Grom as a second bike thanks to all these motovloggers making it look so fun.
As cheap as the gas is youll enjoy the grom. $2 for 100 miles
You be able to buy a low mileage used one easily. People purchase them and realize that want explore more, and buy a bigger bike.
Off topic: I'd be curious to hear Chase's review on the classic Aerostich one-piece super suit.
Wow , amazing
My neighbour had a Chinese version of the Honda Monkey, the recent model... Im only 6'1 but I felt cramped on that, not something I would buy. I would like to try a grom tho, as they look like a lot of fun.
Fine report, thanks. I'm an older rider, have had many bikes. But I lived in Asia for some years and learned to appreciate smaller machines. Fun! I'm seriously considering buying a Grom to squirt about town. QUESTION: Do you feel THREATENED in traffic? I live in the busy Northeast, and sh*t can be brutal here. Do drivers push you around?
On roads with 50 mph speed limits, people tend to be aggressive towards me. They want to go 60mph plus and that is not happening on a Grom.
I got my grom up to 69 mph once on the highway and 68 recentlly again, Not as scary as you'd think! My avrage MPG on my 2022 with me who weights ~140 (Depense if i take a shit or not) geta 145! its absolutely insane
I want a grom but never drove a bike lol
Nice
Trying to decided on a Grom or Begode EX30. So many choices these days, its tough!
You’re having way too much fun haha
Im 225 on my 2023 fully stock Grom. I hit 73 going downhill fully tucked - once. Must’ve had the wind at my back that day. Uphill I can usually maintain about 40-45. Average 104 mpg. Im a grinning idiot in this thing. With that said… I do have a 750cc bike that scratches a different itch.
I like scratching the different itches thats why i still think we need homda to cram the rebel 300 powertrain in this unit so I can go 60 uphill easily but still have the very small form factor, the affordability of a grom. The 125s are good i dont think they should stop making them. I just like how the rebel had 300 500 1100. Cancwe get a grom 250 andna trail 250? There shoukd be 2 or 3 groms and the last one should be like as if it got on an illegal steroid plan and went to an unregulated boxing gym to get tougher quicker and faster
@@TheAnnoyingBoss I have a CRF250L rally , basically what you describe, and more.. got it for 5K used, only 900 miles on it.
I really want a small motorcycle but I live in Chicago and I'm scared of it getting stolen easily (I don't have a home or a garage either) or how vulnerable I'd be overall. It's nothing like driving in the suburbs like shown.
Man I really wanna just buy one of these for fun
Love my electric blue 2020 grom! Got it with 125 miles for $3700. So much frickin fun
Chase you should definitely give the Honda CRF300L a first ride. I think you'd really enjoy that bike. I think of it as a more powerful Grom in a lot of ways. For me, it is somewhere between a DRZ-400 and a Grom.
But it's so tall, and expensive. Jakes crf before he made it bronze was imo the best crf one could have
@@Daniel-dj7fh idk man I picked up mine for 4500 out the door. Best 4500 I've ever spent on a bike.
That's actually reasonable, hold on.. Yeah they're like 6000-6400€ over here, a really cool bike, but not worth more than a cbr500r imo. (you have to remember that the 300 needs alot more maintaining). And the Hornet is also not alot more than that.@@2WheelPursuit
@@Daniel-dj7fh I'm pretty sure the CRF300L and CBR500R actually have nearly the same, if not the exact same service intervals. 8k mile oil changes. They are both great bikes, but the biggest difference no doubt is the fact that the CRF300L allows for some serious offroad riding that you could never do on the CBR or Hornet.
If I remember correctly the 300L is a single cylinder? And if I remember correctly again the service intervall is around every 7000km, as on the 500 (a twin) it's every 12000km, so about half as many.@@2WheelPursuit
I like this bike :)
"giveaway" is the wrong term buying an entry, and more buying tickets equals more chance of winning, this is a RAFFLE sayingg giveaway is a very misleading term
It's basically gambling I'm surprised KZhead hasn't dinged it (then again I don't know what the terms are on here for that)
Hey chase I would check on the audio, don’t really know what it could be. Either the mic cutting out or a lag of some sort. Great video as always and keep them coming bud
Does the handlebar center display shows you what gear you are in?
Yes.
20:00 i got that also on every honda, turn signal is just in the wrong place imo.
as is the horn
Where is this ride taking place ? Is this illinois?
I'm 160lbs 5'6 need a mini bike for traveling to work 3 miles away. I watched your venom Evader video too. Do you have a recommendation between grom and evader?
Grom is WAY better
Can you try a Honda NC750X?
Bruh r u in Roswell rd?! I live right there haha. I’ve been wanting to buy a motorcycle so bad but don’t got a ton of money since I’m a student. I’m between the Grom and Benelli what would u suggest?
Bro ur at the Avalon…. I’m dead asf I’m there rn
Im 5’11 And the bars dont touch my knees when i do a sharp turn
Ayeee Roswell you are close let’s ride some time
Do you recommend this bike as a first bike. IE someone who's never ridden before?
It is super easy to ride, just like a bicycle. Other people state that your first bike should be highway legal so you can progress as a rider. For me I have desire to ride on the freeway.
yes , tho a honda monkey is cooler
Aqui no Brasil com nossa gasolina batizada com 35%álcool, se fizer 50km/l está otimo
I own a 2021 Grom. Barely 50 mph. Buy a KTM 200 instead. 3 times the horsepower and 6 Speeds for same msrp. It’s a real motorcycle. Easily 60 mph all day up hills
Want one so bad, I dunno why or what my usage would even look like on it.
I can’t wait for the Grom1000rr
The other day I was up in the twisties and had a couple of Groms ride past me going the opposite direction. It looked so damn fun. Too bad I’m 6ft4 and 300 pounds 😂
I did get a speeding ticket going 57 in a 35 😂
We need bikes smaller than the grom but in 125 format, the smaller the better for maximum giggles 😂
Had my eye on one but a “used” 2021 z125pro with a whopping 24 miles on it at a very reasonable price got my cake instead. No complaints a few easy mods took care of what I wanted to do with it
I put 10,000 miles on mine already
it still baffles me that people want 4k for their 2015 grom
Brand new 2024 are 3500 lol
Are you sure? You can hardly get these out the dealership for under 5 grand. What did you pay for your brand new Grom?@@nigelparrish672
160cc just like what in in their ADV Scooter would be perfect.
Im 5'3 and think it could be a good fit.🙏
I'm 5ft2 I'm considering this as well!
5'3 male here Perfect
seat height is taller than you think ..
@@leeinwis i would have to test it out.
kawasaki z125 next plz
Can’t go on highway… meanwhile I took my Z125 on the interstate hahaha
Ct doesn’t allow them on the highway but I don’t have much in the way of highway riding to do. Love my Z best 40 bucks I spent was on the Kawasakibrad 02 eliminator.
I hate the team motorsport by me.. I told then to order my quad lock phone case (S23+) 3 weeks ago, they orderd it 2 weeks ago and they still havnt gotten it yet!
You should make a documentary about the motovlogging scene back in the day and interview all the old moto guys like Dan, jake baker, sub d, 6 foot 4 honda, and motonosity to name a few. You guys had such a crazy couple years and it was so amazing. I would love to see someone with your passion for both filming and bikes make that documentary. I've been a huge fan of yours for years and love everything you've done.
Doitwithdan did a video recently covering a lot of older motovloggers
@@jaredbowles4202 I know that's what gave me the idea. He just talked about everyone quickly. It was an awesome video but an actual documentary where either Dan or chase go and meet up with every one for a ride and get an interview about those crazy couple years where motovlogging was the biggest thing on KZhead would be so awesome. I mean like either a series with each motovlogger getting an episode or a 2 hour long documentary
Mordeth13, the actual OG
The grom is the honda civic of motorcycles 😂
I got mine up to 70
OC🤙🏽🤙🏽
Maybe someone can answer me this, I’m a big guy right around 290 pounds and a flatbed trucker, I’m thinking about getting a grom so when I’m parked for the night I can get around the town for food and crap. Don’t really want to ride it on highways much, just mostly around to stores and shops. Anyone know how it handles with more weight on it or hell is it even recommended with a guy my size?
Get an ebike. You can charge it while your working and it will be easier to get on and off or in and out of the truck.
Sounds like you're speeding on something😮
What does "GROM" mean?
I'm 5'2" I love it my rides is short anyways
We need a honda ruckus 500cc
Like scooters they are cute bike for only neighborhood and city streets. They are dangerous on freeways, expressways, interstates, and highways including most back roads. There are literally thousands of Groms, Navis and Monkeys for sale with low mileage because the novelty wore off. Spend a couple thousand more a buy a bike that will give you freedom to ride anywhere.
They're not. People have taken Groms around the world. Lots of people have ridden across America with them on roadtrips. A Grom can do anything you want it to do, you just have to go at it with the right mindset and understand its limitations. It's a great bike, and I am legitimately confused that you clearly don't own one yet seem to have this solid opinion that they're just not good for actual... biking.
Am I too late to win this beauty?! 😢😢
how to get it in India these bikes should also available in India
Please bring it in India
Better than a moped 😅
I would subscribe but I don’t like quad lock after friends keep losing their phones. Also. I don’t want an R6. Give away an R1. Damn. Nice video. Thanks. Shopping for my wife.
I'm interested in how the phones were being lost on a quad lock setup. I've got over 50k miles on a quad lock setup and i feel it's the sturdiest mount I've ever used.
