Nicest Bus Conversion I Have Ever Seen!!

UPDATE!!! Phil and Rhea Crook are the VERY VERY Proud Owners of the beautiful 1983 Silver Eagle!!!
This video found me back at Premium Coach Group in Glibert, Arizona. I was doing a 3rd party inspection on a rare and pristine 1997 American Carriage bus conversion that will be for sale.
On some level the inspection was a waste of time because I hardly found anything wrong with it.
Even though my RV walk thru videos don't get too many views, I found myself so impressed I had to make a video showing it to the world.
Hopefully you can make it to the end of my "fanboy" love letter to the coach owner and builder.
All inquires on the bus should be to:

Well done again Paul on the paintwork.....very professional. Phil& Rhea

    • I would have to say that is one beautiful coach but as I have not heard the mileage yet and yes it's a 97 but I can say one thing for sure if it's kept inside in an environment that's made to keep stuff nice and it hasn't been driven well of course it's going to be perfect! Anything will stay in mint condition as long as it's in the right environment with the right people looking after it I mean come on I've seen 1982 motorcycles with no mileage on them on showroom floors in mint condition the reason being they don't get used. And I'm willing to bet this is really suspect of the same thing although it is a beautiful coach I only wish the guy that owned my 96 Silverado would have took care of the body like that as a 96 Silverado everything works on it perfectly but the body wow they didn't take care of it anyway enough rambling thank you so much for sharing this video you can appreciate mint mint stuff like this. The other commenter was right it should be in a Smithsonian because it is that perfect

I have seen much newer examples that don't even come close to the condition seen here. The phenomenal layout and build are also worth mention in my opinion. The 1990's vibe certainly isn't my favourite and any shade of green is my least favourite, but the condition of everything is such that I couldn't bring myself to change anything. Somehow that coach seems to have more richness than todays multi million dollar buses. It is different, elegant, classic, comfortable, very well thought out, meticulous. There is a simple elegance that is warm and cozy, inviting. timeless. In a nutshell, inpsiring and longing for more of that kind today. The sheer excitement in your voice draws me in. It was genuine, almost lost for words.. What a true gem and godsend!. You sure show it with enthusiasm and love. The entire video is like watching a feel good movie. We feel fabulous at the end. • Magic of depreciation. The 12 year old Wanderlodge (1995 model, purchased used in 2007), cost me $120K out the door. List price (when new) was $525K. Used bus conversions (when done well) can be a very good deal. Even if the manufacturer has gone out of business, most of the stuff is standard parts available in the RV or Bus industry. (e.g. Even windshields are available for most coaches -- and the Blue Bird school bus parts were able to provide a replacement tie-rod end for my coach when one was needed.)

In that movie there was one scenes that he sneaks out from custom built secret exit that he had on his trailer . That was one coolest features for anybody who had R.V. motorhome., etc at that era . I believe that was designer for this bus where he got his idea from. Yeah 80s 90s was the jewel... LoL 😉

  • The magic of the randomness of KZhead, I just discovered this video. Truly a beautiful bus conversion that, after more than 20 years is in incredible shape. (The previous owner(s) must have been fanatical at maintenance.) In 2007, I purchased a 1995 Blue Bird Wanderlodge --- that was in "good" condition, but (even at only 12 years old) showed a LOT more wear and tear. (I was probably the third or forth owner, and the immediately previous owner had been full-timing in it for a few years.) The features were quite similar to this coach (no slide outs) and the Wanderlodge was quite well made. I was given advice to "hold out" $10K (today I'd say more like $20K) to pay for upgrades and modifications --- and unexpected repairs. Indeed, after getting it home from Texas, I found a tendency for the engine to "run hot." (Not good -- a rebuild on the DD Series 60 would cost a fortune.) I found a radiator shop that had a contract with our local transit district (familiar with busses) -- that found the radiator, outside the area swept by the fan, was completely closed up with oily dust. (Eventually, I noticed that oil fumes venting from the engine, were pulled back through the radiator whenever the coach was stopped at idle.) Expensive, but I replaced the radiator core with a newer design (that was being used on the transit busses) that was more efficient and coolant never went near redline ever again. (I also had the radiator steam cleaned every couple of years.) I note that the radiator was behind the charge air cooler (from the outside) and was heavily shrouded (for fan efficiency) from the inside -- so actually LOOKING at the radiator was very hard to do. Whomever purchases this coach will certainly have a beauty!
