Honestly, I was so surprised because I have an OC who reminds me of Gene SO MUCH. Like personality wise, his kindness, his reserved nature, his sarcasm, my OC has written a few love poems, and he's gay. Like . . . I am in shock. I just saw this series for the first time, and I created my OC over a year ago -- it's crazy.

He's my OC that I created over a year ago because I used to roleplay as him a lot, I haven't even really written him into a storyline or anything. It is a disturbing area used in dramas (I have seen it used more in Thai dramas compared to dramas from some other countries), even the threat of "raping"/ forced kiss scenes should not be nornalised. Some people in the comment section condoning or trying to justify the problematic behaviours are precisely why it is important to explicitly point it out. @Terence Fairy There is a lot of tension between Tian and Phupha and the mutual attraction is very noticeable especially in the episode of the getaway. it is just that the secrets that both keep prevent them from taking the first step and declaring their feelings, but practically the entire village knows that they are both in love.

I honestly just love how this series starts- writing out the typical cliche non con scene in a lot of bls then immediately labelling it “sexual harassment” and not sexy- if that isn’t the best way to A) call out the industry and B) inform the audience and C) show straight away how this series is different. Let's just say that the director did not get along with MAME and quit/was replaced before season 2 of TharnType -- to the detriment of the series. There's a lot of meta commentary on how the BL industry works in this series.

I am loving this series' quality a lot! During the past 2-3 years, the Thai BL sector is getting gradually better both in acting/plot and production quality in my opinion. Hope to see more BL series like Lovely Writer, ITSAY, ATOTS, Manner of Death etc. I believe if Thailand continues to develop their BL qualities, it will attract more people (just like K-Drama) worldwide.
