Part 1: • Ne-Yo on Being a Man B...
Part 3: • Ne-Yo: When Did it Bec...
--------
Singer Neyo revealed that his hit song "Irreplaceable" was initially written for himself, but he eventually gave it to Beyoncé. He explained that the lyrics - specifically the line, "I can have another you in a minute" - would have come across as arrogant if he had sung it himself. Neyo recognized that the power of a lyric is often found in the messenger, and a woman delivering those lines conveyed a sense of empowerment. The conversation then shifted to the idea of gender roles and equality. Neyo expressed his belief that men and women have their own places in society, not in a restrictive way, but in terms of certain tasks and responsibilities. He emphasized the importance of men being able to protect women when necessary, acknowledging that women don't always need protection, but it should be available when they do. The conversation concluded with the notion that society is becoming confused about gender roles, which is leading to a loss of clarity and identity.

  • This is exactly the problem with double standards and women. I don't think women realize that they're emotionally manipulative whether it's intentional or not. As a man I'm a physical threat and women use that against us.

    • I think both genders are capable of it.

    • @@sharonjo7630😂 Damn for once jus 1 time can y'all take responsibility for what y'all are doing wrong. Yes we can say the same for both genders, but that's not what this video is about

      @dvvnn33_92@dvvnn33_929 ай бұрын
    • @dvvnn33_92 nope, because you're trying to agree that the female gender is moreso capable of emotional manipulation compared to a man...when the truth is that both are capable of doing it. Neither gender is more of a threat than the other in that area. As for men being a physical threat, that is very much so held to the men to be more responsible in that area because they are stronger and men have used that as a form of intimidation forever. It's not even a debate.

      @sharonjo7630@sharonjo76309 ай бұрын
    • males constantly mention emotional manipulation and yet can not specify how women have manipulated them.. in life, your mind and your due diligence is your responsibility, no one else's. if you as a man are easily manipulated, then you need to level-up your psychological defenses. The BIGGEST issues impacting society today is the violence and hatred males display-- ya'll are k!lling everyoneeeee and anybody due to your heightened emotions.. You're right, as a man you are indeed a physical threat that has to be managed closely-- if we dont, then society at large is in danger. Turn on any news station right now-- ya'll behavior is the primary issue and on full display.. and this is across all races!

  • Ne-Yo is right whether you want to agree with it or not. The double standard is not right, but it is what it is. Giving women anthems that demean men is a money maker. You can play it on the radio and in the clubs and no one will think twice. This is also why I don't listen to women that squawk about percieved mysoginy when they outright trash men on a regular basis.

  • "I can have another you in a minute. A matter fact, he'll be here in a minute." Honestly, I always disliked that lyric. Neyo said he couldn't use it for himself because it would come off as mean. Yet, not too many women could get away with that lyric without risking offending the guy to the point of aggression/violence. I can't be the only one that feels this way...

    @sharonjo7630@sharonjo76309 ай бұрын
    • You won't be probably the only one to feel that way but I don't. The key is to never put any female (anyone really) on a pedestal. Gotta have the mentality of a pilgrim and be ready to move on in case a woman acts out.

    • Honestly, a majority of women couldn't get away with saying that line in a real situation without risking her safety. It's a messed up line regardless of gender because it's implying that whomever recites the line was probably cheating on the other. I don't think neyo thought that through...
