Lambing Alone. She is leaving. Life and Death....
Join us at Sheep School where every day with sheep is a school day! This weekend, watch as I, a new farmer, navigate the busy lambing season solo-well, almost solo! My daughters Ada and Enya step in as my little helpers, feeding the pet lambs and getting hands-on with farm life.
In this heartwarming episode, we face the joys and challenges of farm life. From the messy feeding frenzy with lambs to heartfelt discussions about life and death, there's never a dull moment. We also share a tender moment as we honor the cycle of life, burying a small bird that the girls found in the garden.
Experience the laughter and love of a family farm as I discuss how underappreciated I am before my wife, Orlaith, heads out for a night away. It's a blend of humor, family bonding, and real-life farm experiences that you won't want to miss.
Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more daily adventures from Sheep School. Every day is a school day with our sheep, and we love sharing our learning journey with you!
Thanks for watching, see you next time...

You have a lovely family David. I always think the greatest gift you can give young children is your time and attention. Bless you all. 🇮🇪🇸🇬
I had a textel ewe called Nina , and she was my lovely pet and had a goo life during 15 years with me , all vets are suprised, cause is uncomum , here in Brazil ,a ewe live for many years , but i always triet to offer the best and understand the animal , they shows sings god or not.
I loved seeing beautiful mom and kids. You have a gorgeous family and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the family day. ❤ And grand mom! Such a sweet soul washing all those buckets for you. True family day.❤❤❤
Garden hose for the water.Bring the water to the buckets. Simple yoke but saves so much time.
I really enjoyed this !!! This is what farming is all about!!!!
David, wonderful video! Your children are innocent, genuine and darling!!! So lovely to see them helping their dad while your lovely wife skips off for an evening! Good for you, Orla!! Loved it!!

That's the busiest video you've ever made David looking after sheep lambing and the children would definitely keep you on your toes 🙂

Great video, I think your girls have daddy wrapped their little finger ,so lovely to see you teaching them. ❤
Yes they do 😄
Your sweet girls are good helpers. We have a Golden Retriever, a cat, a black bird and a hamster buried at the bottom of our yard. It is a good life lesson for the children. Your wife is beautiful an need not be shy about the camera. You have a lovely family.
Thank you Linda, Orlaith says you are too kind 😊

You are a very loving and kind dad David.Your girls are learning lots and of course showing them life and death on the farm is a real part of life. They both worked hard for you without even realising they were. You are doing great at the fostering, that little tiny lamb has a ways to go but I’m sure you looking out for hi he will get there. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Caring for the sheep, the children and working out the correct amount of feed and water..all at the same time. Impressively decent and good man here. Hoping you get that watering system to save labour very soon.
"dad skills" love it! Kids are amazing :)
Great video David isn’t family time just the best 👌
They are coming fast and furious now. Great seeing the family at work.
Charming video again David, great work and you cope so well. Lovely family.Sorry to hear about your pet dog, always hard to lose your pets. Keep well.
Thank you so much 😊
You are truly blessed
I think the same thing all the time 😀
Those girls are just the cutest - as a kid on the farm depending on what we got up, to would get hosed down on the lawn especially if it was rotten egg fights or something equally discusting - cloths would have to go into the washer on the way past to the shower - she would just roll her eyes at us and laugh
Growing up on a farm is the best for education and the immune system 😄
Hi lad that was a class video of your sheep 🐑 your two girls to and your lovely Wamon to your lovely young lad to ❤❤❤❤❤

Damn you got a beautiful wife there! You are a lucky farmer I see 🎉🙂👍🏻
It is good to get your daughters involved with your lambing.
I'm a teacher and a farmer. Tell Ada to run a mile from both professions!!!
My mother was a teacher also!
Don't leave me this way Middle of The Red Harvest 😢😅
Daddy, the bird is a house sparrow. Great to see your two lovely girls taking an interest. We have so much glass for the birds to crash into. The male birds often believe they have another male rival on their territory. We had fun watching a bullfinch family nesting in a yew tree near our house until the male committed hari kari on the back door window. I used to go for Texel rams with narrower heads even though they were not top conformation. Less trouble, more easy births. I also adopted a split feeding policy. It also makes an opportunity to observe the sheep.
Thank you... I even checked Google to see which bird it was and still got it wrong 🤦♂️
Great crack with kids and nanna! You are always so organised and well set up. Hope Orla had a good night.
Hi David, that is so touching to see you with your family, great video, that bird isa sparrow.😊
Thank you Ivan... bird knowledge is lacking 😊
Where did you get them adoption gates where the lamb can walk around to the head of the ewe? Great idea as most keep the ewes head outside and then she can't get used to the smell of the lambs.
Love it David. Your a great man for the crec
Can't beat it 😜
You're some boy David 😂 a right chamber
🤣
After watching your video, I think your sheep are well raised. Our company produces solid-liquid separators that can convert animal manure into fertilizer for crop fertilization. If you use fertilizer for grassland maintenance, you can achieve maximum resource utilization. We hope you will carefully consider our suggestion.😄
Excellent job with the kiddos! They can do a lot of allowed and you have time!
They definitely done a lot of work and we had loads of fun too 😊
Good stuff
Great video again. R u going to Balmoral Show this year?
Yes I'll be there on the Wednesday 👌
Hi David, great job there. Not trying to be a busybody, but you need to reduce the height off your round bales! No more than two high. Best of luck with the lamb's.
Very nice video
well she wasn't gonna say so you might as well, lol
Could you please show your fostering frame please and thanks.
I think you have to go to Kerry to sheep shepherd show how lamb sheep he brings out of even before they lamb I agree with him to clean pen not saying you’re wrong a log joint ill around this year
Not enough air going through equals damp beds
Hello David, I just found your page and have a question. I have 2 sheeps (both 2 years old) which are not getting in heat. One gave last birth on Febuary 2023 and the other on September 2023. Why does this happen and what can I do? Love your videos, Thanks for teaching us.
Thank you so much ☺️ I've had problems with s few sheep not coming into heat. Can be caused by them being way over weight or sometimes my scanner will say they don't look right inside possibly caused by a uterine infection from the previous lambing. Sheep are not simple...
@@sheepschool365 Thanks', mine are maybe overweight. Now I can take care of this and make them walk a little more and eat less of the concentrated feed.

3:01 Is Lamb, a boy or girl⁉️
Horrifying reality when kids learn they were breast-fed and for how long! 😂😂😂😂😂
Ada enjoyed that one 🤣
First
No black smiths around there that would throw a hay feeder together for ye David.
Hard to get a lad in the workshop when he's out running after sheep 😜
Harvest is great but the labourers are few and the vineyard is full.
