  • As an SA survivor, I really couldn’t watch IMDY. Well, I watched a bit of it and it was too much - way too real. I had to cease watching. I’m not at a place to view that type of material just yet, but from all the things I’ve heard about it, I am still so glad it took home the win. I think the whole point of it is that it should be that it’s hard to swallow (if you’re comfortable watching a show about SA, then well, you’re either desensitised or apathetic), again not seen it and probably will not for a while, but I’m glad people are listening and watching to these very raw and difficult pieces of work that speak to & for SO many of us. Stay strong people.

    • I think that what makes I May Destroy You so incredible that it challenges today’s society on what is considered to be consent. It wasn’t afraid to address those grey areas and it reminds us that sexual assault isn’t always black and white and and it’s unfortunate, even today that people (especially many women) already have this preconceived, black in white narrative of what the reality of sexual assault really is.

  • Although I was disappointed that Coel didn’t win Best Actress, I think her winning Best Screenplay, a story based on her own personal trauma and struggle, meant a whole lot more! Congrats Michaela Coel! You more than earned this award !

    • The real tea with that color is that if you have a warm undertone with a deep hue , it works 100% . Lupita was wearing another shade of the same yellow , her undertone is different. finally we get it.
