  • Absolutely living for you slamming the cushion at Spain's televote then kicking it for Austira's. But also living for the extremely measured and sensible reaction you've given to the results despite your favourite not winning.

LotL already said during their interview that they aren't too bummed though, because they have a nice Eurovision experience and would return and that they are fine going back into their established career preparing touring with Iron Maiden. • As a finn I am so proud of Käärijä and he has given me personaly the best Eurovision season of all times. I was 26 years when Lordi won and this is our second best score ever. And with a song sang in finnish by a rap artist who is not a great singer. And we won the televote!! The whole nation went cracy (and party) over this song 🇫🇮 ❤️ and it did us good.

    • I agree. He is a great guy and we will love him forever for this second place and he will be remembered as one of the most iconic acts in Eurovision. I was so sad when Loreen won Mello because I new this would happen. Our second victory got out of our reach. • You're not bad. This time we had to calculate +58 points from "Rest of the World" as a 38th country. I also calculated the points from 37 countries and before Sweden's points were announced only 185 remained so I thought that Finland was the winner! Germany didn't deserve the last position. I really think that being a Big 5 is not beneficial at all. All the other countries have the opportunity to be voted and loved on semifinals while the Big 5 have only those 3 minutes on the final and most of the public can't appreciate them properly. Italy and Ukraine were exceptions, but Mengoni is known a bit and well loved and Ukraine... Of course a good performance but, again, lots of solidarity points...

    • I feel for the German entry. I voted for Croatia in the end, but I really thought Germany would get a lot higher. I don't know about a win, but they deserved to be in a higher position than the Swedes for example (I found it uninteresting e.g. the staging stayed the same and the song didn't hold up to that staging. I could easily forget it other than it won), but that's just my opinion. Belgium, Finland, France, Slovenia, Germany, Portugal and Czechia, Croatia (in no particular order) scored highly for me purely from looking at my top list on my scoring sheet, even if I forgot any of them, were the ones I would be more happy to see win. Ultimately it was a fun night with my family and our Sushi tradition and doesn't really matter.

  • As a German, I'm obviously quite devastated by our televote result, also by Australia's (they were my 2nd favourite of the contest). But I guess Rachel already hinted at one of the possible reasons when she revealed that she spent all her 20 votes on Finland. I did the same, and I suspect there's probably a pattern here. This was very much an "all eggs in Käärija's basket" situation, where everyone knew that he needed all the votes to even have a shot at beating Loreen. Hence, people probably threw a lot of votes at him, instead of sprinkling them around a bit more onto other countries. I'm guilty of that, I didn't give Australia (or Spain, which was my 3rd favourite) anything, so I really can't be mad at people elsewhere who potentially really liked Blood & Glitter, but ended up giving all their points to Finland as well. Anway...congrats to Loreen and well done UK, it was a really great show (we finally got to see Dadi perform on stage at a Grand Final!) But you put Loreen's win so elegantly in the context of her winning twice as a female singer and especially as a 39-year-old female singer that now I'm truly happy for her. Thank you again for such good reflection on the acts and results. :)

    • Watch her last video before this, jurys check alot of things in the song, vocals, perfomance, staging, presence, there is alot of ways jury thinks differently than the people, that's why the jury exists, and i'm glad it exists because before it had the jurys the songs that won could suck alot.

It's not great when you have the popular favorite pitted against the jury favorite, and the popular entry loses despite getting an avalanche of votes. People spend some hard-earned money voting. Of course they're upset. "This year we have the rest of the world vote." No we did not. It's getting to be painfully obvious that the list of criteria that the artists are judged by does not include diversity.

  • This year’s results has left me more dissatisfied than all other years. My favourite was Spain and I was so happy before when so many were backing up her song and then for it to just flop like that? And Austria right after with 16 points was like another low blow. And to top it all off, I was rooting for Finland to win after all my favourites had just been slaughtered by the televote but no Loreen won and yes I think she deserves it to a certain extent but it just does not sit right with me that she won 2 times because that could’ve gone to literally anyone else who hasn’t experienced the win before. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement after seeing nearly all my favourites on the right side of the board… it’s just heart-breaking. The only thing I was happy with was Estonia and Cyprus finishing on the left side of the leaderboard because their vocals were absolutely top notch and their placing was well deserved!👏👏👏

  • The results this year seem so extraordinarily random... besides the two landslides that literally everyone predicted, a lot of strange results such as Spain being DEAD LAST with the public, and the fact that the Finnish televote did not give Sweden a single point. I've got a bit of mixed emotions about the result, since I would've preferred Finland to win, but huge congrats to Sweden, and to Loreen for both of her records. You cannot say it was undeserved 😀Some of my highlights: - Belgium doing so well. The song grew on me loads, and all of us at my friend's place were over the moon when he started getting 12s, really made me feel part of my second country after Malta's unjust last place in semi 1. Also, the Belgian jury randomly throwing a curveball and awarding Austria 12 points was so typical and so hilarious, gave us a jolly good laugh 🤣 - The crowd chanting Kaarija's name was heartwarming. I almost believed he would pull the underdog and beat Sweden by a tiny number of points after the televotes. - Italy being top 5 when we least expected them to just proves how a song with such a simple but great composition can be so effective. - Czechia getting their 2nd top 10 deserves a huge congrats. - Nice way to welcome Croatia back with a left-hand side score. - I was happy to see some juries not resorting to bloc voting - Moldova getting 7 from Romania, the Yugoslav bloc not giving each other high points if any, and of course Greece only giving Cyprus 4 POINTS. 4!! The less good: - SPAIN'S TELEVOTE LAST PLACE IS A TRAVESTY. PILLOW TANTRUM FULLY JUSTIFIED. - Germany and the UK were so underrated. What does the former have to do to get some points, though?! I really thought they'd pull a shocker and get top 10 😢 - France was underrated. Destiny effect, I think, same starting position and before the huge wave that was Spain-Finland leading to a mid result. - Poland getting top 10 in the televote and 3RD IN SEMI 2!! - Australia was also underrated by the public, but at least they got a top 10 result. Hope they return from now on, got used to them joining the party. Oh well, another year another Eurovision, as they say!

And it melts my heart that so many people in Europe and around the world loved it, too! It's too bad that there is a secret society of only about 5 million people who can appreciate all the quirky nuances of the lyrics in Cha cha cha. The English translation only delivers the very superficial meaning of the song. There are so many weird and amazing levels in Käärijä's writing, it deserves a translation that more closely conveys that. Loreen was a clear winner from the get go. The sheer talent and top tier Swedish production value of the song, paired with her fame and admiration among the ESC crowd really made it quite obvious. And then Käärijä made it interesting 😎. Loreen was amazing and I voted for her but she was over 100 points ahead of SECOND PLACE after the juries voted and even when Finland got one of the highest televote scores of all time it wasn’t enough. • As an Australian, I’m not upset. They were shown so much love, but in the end people usual vote for only one country, and the competition this year was deep enough that unfortunately they could have fallen just outside the votes people were placing. All good, and we’re proud of them! 👍🏻

    • It just shows that running order influences the televote A LOT, which is also why it's absurd they eliminated the juries in the semis

    • It's because everyone was in an alliance to vote for Finland. Finland was not in Australia's semi. I'm still so proud of voyager! They did incredible getting those 12's from a couple juries and coming 9th. It was the first Australian entry I actually loved and felt really represented Australian music, we have band culture here ❤

      @trao1938@trao1938 Жыл бұрын
  • I expected Sweden to win and it was my favourite, so in that regard I'm very happy. But, as a spanish person, it broke my heart to see we came last in the televote with only 5 points. I already expected a flop in the televote since we didn't do as well with the juries as expected (9th place was still fine), but certainly I didn't expect us to finnish last with only 5 points. We didn't even come last in the televote in 2017 (and we received the same amount of points). And we've received more points in the televoting with weaker entries. So it's still hard to process...

    • The song is very divisive. Literally 3 out the 5 people in the room here hated it. As in hated 'turn off the tv', they couldn't stand the sound in their ears. 2 of us including me kind of liked it, but I felt something was off with her voice and that causes the earpain with the others.

  • More than being sad, this year I am angry. Spain many years "almost all" has deserved to be in the last positions, but this year NOT. I think that except for Italy "which already did it in its day", the rest of the big 5 should stop competing for a while so that we are valued more. This contest was created many years ago for the diversity of cultures and unfortunately it has become a circus. For my part, I am very proud of the candidacy of Blanca Paloma. Even more than Chanel's last year.

    • Spain and UK literally got on the podium last year. France the year before that. And before 2021, Germany was the only BIG5 Country with a win since the BIG5-system was introduced. If they’d withdraw - they won’t be more appreciated, they’d just be forgotten.

It takes a somewhat good person to be happy even when something doesn’t go the way you want. Eurovision is at it’s core, and should really aim to stay, a friendly event! Where people support and lift each other. The contestants all seem lovely to each other, so I hope that coziness and respect will spread to the fandom! :)

The fan base has a lot to do it with Italy's televotes, he's massive in Italy and so is Loreen generally.
