I truly believe that Hot Wheels have actually listened to the diecast community and by doing so the 2nd set of Neon Speeders gives collectors what they want. Loads of JDM goodness that shines brightly under a UV blacklight.
I was, of course, also very interested to learn which car from the 2nd set would be the fastest in a drag race and following on from that, find out which car would be the champion in a one epic race containing the two winners from the 1st and 2nd sets respectfully.
Personally... It did feel like we were waiting ages for these cars to show up in stores here in the UK. Don’t sleep on this set as owning all 16 cars feels amazing and I am very happy that Mattel have perfected their Neon Speeders series of mid-level cars. Some of which are highly detailed and highly desirable amongst collectors.

Glad you highlighted this second batch. So far I've bought the 510, the pink Skyline, Integra, RX7 drift & Eclipse of the eight. The other 3 (S2000, 350Z, Celica) have been pegwarmers that I shall buy in the future. I've opened a spare Datsun & it's as well detailed as that beautiful blue 50yr model (which I have in my display shelves). Oddly, my local Smyths where I bought the Neons from, seems to have a lot of the Wagon sitting on pegs, which I thought would be a VHTF model. Seems to the the same with the purple mainline 510 wagon, which I have found being left on pegs too. My favourite mainline of it is the yellow version from 2015 with red/white trim & Datsun badges. The Boulevard model from 2013 is a gem in pale green/aqua & red wheels..

Okay so I'm only new to all this. However, it still surprises me how people haven't maybe noticed one thing when it comes to racing cars that often determines the winner...and its not weight , wheels or aerodynamics. A lot of these hot wheels sit very low to the track (body kits etc) which means whenever the go into a steep angle or a loop they are impeded as not all the wheels can be in contact with the track. Meaning there's no optimum roll and instead are only been carried by the velocity built up. Okay so we are talking milliseconds here...but clearly it has an effect. As long as a car is not absolutely crude in its design , all you need do is press down on the hood as if to sea saw it...the greater the angle the car can be put before the front end touches the track/ground...the likelihood that this car will be fastest on a track with steep angles. Love your presentations. I like the heads up on what will likely be the most desirable in each set. I mean if we're going to collect these things...its good to know right ? 👍
Hello mate. Thanks for the epic comment. A great read in fact! It took me 2 months to come up with and build my drag loop. Hot wheels have a product of their own which inspired me. I just wanted to make something big and fast! The bottom line is that I have made each of the 4 lanes absolutely as identical as can naturally be. This way it’s a fair race and an exciting one to me. It’s fun to watch premiums and different body shapes hit the loop and sometimes a very surprising outcome too. It just boils down to originality with me. I didn’t want to make anything simple and the same as other people. I understand not everyone will like what I have built but that’s on them. I enjoy embracing the difference. My favourites here are the Datsun, Skyline (FAV, love the pink), Honda S2K and the Eclipse (can't believe the 4 I want are the slowest hahahahaha) Great video and looking forward to the next one! I'm also in love with that pink Porsche from the 2nd Mix!!
Great picks! I’ve found 2 more skylines and the Datsun again in another store and bought them to keep as spares. Dude, for real. When I film these races as it takes a long time to set up each race I very rarely need to record multiple takes and I always laugh to myself like you just did about the same thing. I’m so sure a certain car will win and out of nowhere another car wins by a huge amount! It’s a lot of fun. Really appreciate the kind words! You’re the best! 3rd release will go hard mate. Yeah you gotta obviously use your head and lots of veteran collectors will know more about which licenses Hot Wheels have and the relationships Mattel have with those brands. But hey! @@customcollects Same, I love chatting with you here on the comments! I didn't get the 6 Vintage ones, I only wanted the Mercedes and the Chase but I'm probably never gonna get the Chase. As for other releases, I really really want the Exotic Envy BMW Procar, that livery is just so pretty and I love excentric liveries. Also looking forward to get my hands on the Decades of Fast set and get the El Camino, the Buick with the removable hood and the Jetta!
The Buick with the removable hood is hilarious. I won’t review that set but I really really hope Hot Wheels put out another mainline/basic version of that car so I can race it with and with the hood on! Would be very interesting to see what happens. I have a pre order on for Slide Street 2! And the next two Collector Display sets are going to be amazing. Really can’t wait to get my hands on a premium Maxima Drift car! The one from the Greddy display. Very nice looking for sure 🚗💨
I have also tested both sets under UV light and the second one is way better than the first!

@@yayasgaragecustomdiecast7198 it’s strange how sets at the same mid level can be hit and miss like that. For example. Vintage racing club is no where in stores here in the UK. Same from J-Imports. And then, we have decades of fast and women of fast everywhere as well as Neon Speeders. If you find this set for a good price online and you have the first set then the 2nd release is a must buy. Or just grab the Datsun and the Skyline 👍 which store do you normally pick things up in Canada?
Walmart and a grocery store called Maxi. I don't buy on line, way too expensive with shipping. I also collect more older stuff I can find in flea markets and yard sales, Love to restore and customize them.@@customcollects
