Work with the government body who is responsible. What you are doing on your show is precious and YOU not someone else; YOU need to do this.

  • I read about this very long time ago. A book called first Rasta. It should be known to the Rasta community how much of an influence that the east Indian that came to Jamaica was an influence to Howell. As he took many attributes while forming something that's was more Afrocentric. It's is historical facts. Also if you ask most of the well known Rasta reggae artist of this historical facts they don't have a clue. Howell had a vision to uplift the African people in Jamaica that fell victim to the European culture and religion due to slavery. He also saw the freedom that the Indians had spiritually because they didn't get stripped away from there culture. Love and respect beautiful works, and substance that are based on actual facts.

  • I was in India in the early 2000s I saw the Saddhu people with long dreadlocks , with a moderate lifestyle based on pilgrimage and meditation, and they also smoke Ganjah and "Charas" homemade natural resin, Hashish with a pipe made of stone called "Chillum" or "Shillum". I always thought there was a very interesting similarities between the two cultures. I-Tal food and vegetarian Indian food...ect. After watching this video Ras Flako Tafari confirms my thinking. So historically sir Howell had connections with an Hindu guru. So Rastafari is a merge between Africa and India created by Jamaican African descendants. Magnificent I give Thanks,Ras Flako Tafari for your knowledge and wisdom. Blessed Love! His Majesty Qdamawi Haile Selassie. One Love!

    • Haile Selassie is a fraud, all haile Selassie do is came and create the league of nations which is now called the UN that's "reinforcing" this new world order policy, and claim that he the third coming of Christ (cristos), a Messiah because he related to some Spanish king named Jesus (because nobody in that era they alluding to was ever named Jesus, he is a fictional character the roman Catholic church made up and the Catholic king had admitted to this) that he and alleged Queen Elizabeth are descendants of. Who has he saved? What had he done besides having people worshipping him.. Yow you know what Haile Selassie was doing to those Ethiopians, the man was so evil that the Ethiopians had to over throw him because was selling them out British, starving them and overworking them while under martial law. Haile Selassie is no god.

    • @@kmm9721+ yow ask the Ethiopians their opinion of hails Selassie and contrast their perspective with your opinion and see if it adds up. Haile Selassie was a tyrant (,did the Ethiopians like how allegedly Hitler did Jews ironically being a Jew himself) and he sold out to the British, matter a fact he a blood relative to the quean Elizabeth over there, haile Selassie claimed the title of god, because in the bible I believe there is anagram of his name as the new world god and that's was his evidence... To reiterate haile Selassie wasn't even a black, how the heck he to be the 2nd too (when in fact in actuality he'd be the third, because Muhammad was 2nd in the book of Torah, but let's go along with y'all "misconception" from ignorance because don't do y'all own independent research) if Jesus did not exist. The only two known Jesus historical dated of what they sourcing from, is a Spanish king name Aesus (the letter j did not exist before the 14the century, so his English name of this bastardized language would be Jesus as its "Spanish" not even Arabic, lol, which Spanish was created in the 12th century from Latin and mixture of American Indian) that haile Selassie is descendant of and a urban legend of a slave ship named Jesus that was apart of the fleet of ships with Santana Maria etc.

H.I.M. was attempting to progress not only Itiopia but Africa on a whole as H.I.M. was aware that invaders and their nations were gaining more power through Colonialism. H.I.M. sought to advance Itiopia and nations who belonged to the African Union which he founded (not the league of nations as you've lied about in your earlier and ignorant response) to ensure we were not left behind economically. It's crabs like you who are still in a Tribal state of mind who keep us weak and unable to defeat the oppression of Global White Supremacy due to your sickness of an unclean spirit named, 'badmind grudgeful and envy'.

  • Greetings all. Giving thanks for the sharing. There is nothing new under the sun (old time sing-ting come back again.) In the late 1990’s I came across information that proved there were “Rasses” in ancient Kemet (black land.) Most of us attach ancient Kemet to the historical civilization(s) that flourished in the present day location of Egypt. But Kemetic “type” civilizations were all over the planet. Including here in the “Americas” that include South America, The West Indies, North America, Canada. Some evidence is under the sea. The indentured workers that came to “what is now called Jamaica” from what is now called “India” were, what are labelled by their people, “untouchable’s. All of “what is now called Africa,” was once known as Ethiopia. India, was once known as Eastern Ethiopia. The Ganges river is named after an Ethiopian emperor. The Indus Valley (Arepan (note-corn, food connection)) was founded by ancient Ethiopians (aka negroid, africans.) The “untouchables” derived from peoples who mixed with these ancient Ethiopian people. So, what are now called Indians, did not bring rastafari to us. One could say, some, knowledge “re-surfaced through “trace, African (Ethiopian) ancestry,” through them. In other words. I am saying to peoples. Do not think another culture gave us, us. In this time. We had knowledge of Rasta in ancient days. That has resurfaced through different channels in these times. We were Rasses in ancient times & before Haile Selassie of the 1930’s. Not all Rasta see Haile Selassie as God. Your Goddesses-God self is within. We access this energy by right livity. By being on our own paths. Personally. Rasta came to myself, before I had any knowledge of Marcus Garvey or Howell. “It was an inward conception that I became aware of at age 12. That consciousness, was not nurtured by family due to colonial indoctrination. Later, at age 19, I did a college thesis on rasta and was fortunate to get vital information from brethrens connected to the Africa Centre & Ladbroke Grove community in London. In 1976. Right around the time Rastaman Vibration was “released” by Bob Marley & The Wailers. The brethren were elders, most not wearing locks, who were children and youth around the time of Marcus Garvey and Howell. Their parents were rasta’s who were active during the same Garvey Howell era. It is important for me to clarify, because, with the “recent” influx (40 years or so) of what could be termed “recent Indians” who have tried to introduce “their caste-system” in my country (what is now called, Jamaica.) I have been observing (for several years) the “push” (by Britain and Co.) to install “what are now called Indians” above us. In our own country, (what is now called Jamaica.) It is not going to work. We are Olmec people. Olmec “phenotype,” connected to the same ancient Kemetic type cultures the Indus valley was founded by. So anywhere I see confusion of our “true history” I give input. There is nothing new under the sun (old time singting come back again.) Breeze August 30th 2020

  • 🇯🇲 A very good parting of knowledge, but the teaching was much too short. We need a Part 2 to elaborate on the other 3 mentioned besides Leonard Howell. This snipet of history of the Rastafari is a perfect example of why Jamaica needs to teach our people their history. The information that the elder gave, It's liken to an iceberg, we just see the tip, but what lies beneath is far more vast. The Rastafari Livity is a big part of Jamaica's history. As a product of the black struggle, I have heard before the reference to the indentured workers from India bringing ganja forward to Jamaica, but hearing it from an Elder is tangible. The reference that Ras Flako uses regarding the use and the origin of collie/ganja, the ital diet, and the names of the other leaders he mentioned, whom are not known to most Jamaicans is truely revealing the layers of Rastafari that needs to be rectified even within the Movement. Thank you for sharing.🦁🦁🇯🇲👁️

Queen Victoria come to Jamaica, Her head would roll ....so they're charging Seditious Treason.. some and the rest of the story I got a like y tenacity and one day I'm going to come get a copy of your book and actually sit into exactly what you're saying because you need to correct those people think they know and have no clue as to what goes on. Thank you again sister Hodesh Ps,, sadly there's actually nothing written on Alexander T Bedwood there is a book which says there are two prominent jamaican philosopher one is Alexander T Bedwood who is tried and sentences as a Lune and the others Marcus Mosiah Garvey and the rest of the book was written on Marcus .. so people need to know exactly the power Alexander T BedWoom had also went to Panama and he's only living person or person who ,thee oral history spread throughout the world ,on him and literally there's nothing written and it's sad that the generation that past never recorded all of that Bobby hill unclaimed world going to end of you all had to get Bedwood words story . but nobody actually did and it's better than the archive off imagination ... On the Daye Alexander T Bedwood was was arrested at Hope Gardens gate he was marching down where they were it's a sad that the 50,000 people with marching from August town He told everybody that he be arrested at that's on the morning on where you be arrested and on the day of his trial he was not allowed to say anything he was muzzle charge and sentence has a Loon and what is sad that even when somebody is sentenced to hang they have a last word and he was not given an opportunity to speak at all back then lunacy was a massive crime and that's all they used to shut people up is also said there was some American Baptist preacher had some affiliate with his church in August Town also

Kali is shiva and shiva is kali. The word Jah also came with the Indians the word mean the one who perceives. Jah Jah shiva adiyogi. The first yogi, there has never been a time when Jah has not been praised. Blessed love to all, for we are all human beings first a conscious spiritual being. Doesn't matter what you call the creator what matters that we acknowledge this supreme being.

  • Absolutely informative! I remember reading dread history by Professor Hill.. I recommend everyone to go and search for that book. The research is mind-blowing. Professor Hill is a brilliant historian. It was that information where I had learn about the THE GONG GURU MAHARAJ. Otherwise known as (Percival Howell) in those days you had the Garvey Heights and you had the Howell Heights. Yes the Elder is correct.. Marcus Garvey did not approve of Howell introducing and showing photograph of the I Majesty to the people in downtown Kingston Jamaica. They disagreed about the divinity of Haile Selassie I. Garvey did not want anything to do that. Both Marcus Garvey and Percival Howell lived in Harlem New York. At that time in history "Harlem Renaissance, a blossoming (c. 1918-37) of African American culture, particularly in the creative arts, and the most influential movement in African American literary history". The influence of Rastafari was known in the United States. We know this , because we have done the research. So when Garvey return to Jamaica and had told his followers in 1920 they should "look to Africa, when a black king shall be crowned, for the day of deliverance is at hand". So, when a black man called Ras Tafari was crowned in Ethiopia, many saw that as a sign the prophecy had come true". But did Marcus Garvey truly accepted that? Percival Howell on the other hand, truly believe in the divinity of Haile Selassie I , he was the first to declare " Christ is back on Earth" and he told his followers " you do not need to Bow Down to King George of England anymore, because we have our own black king in Ethiopia. The colonial government at the time in Jamaica did not approve of Howell waking up the people so they persecute him, charged him for sedition. Many times they destroyed his property abused is followers and put him in the Madhouse.. Like the Elder stated, Percival Howell was highly influenced by some of the practices of the indentured Indians culture that came to Jamaica. In conclusion I must say we found in the research that the Ethiopians Africans and the orientals are familiar with each other in the east, long before they came to the West. So the connection was like a long lost family member reuniting.

  • It started in Chicago. The first person to Repatriate to Ethiopia was Robert Daniel Alexander in 1908. He was from Chicago. He had audience with Emperor Menelik and learned about the young boy Tafari Makonnen. In 1919, Ras Tafari sent the Abyssinian Mission to Chicago and Grover Redding started the Star Order of Ethiopia. They pledged their allegiance to the “Government of Rastafari” and they were the first to use the red, gold and green flag and pictures of Ras Tafari and prepare for repatriation to Ethiopia. From Chicago, via Grover Redding and Reverend Webb, the movement spread East to New York where Leonard Howell learned about the Ras Tafarites. Leonard Howell returned to Jaimaica and spread what he learned from the Ras Tafarites in America. Leonard Howell ruined the movement which was focused on repatriating to Ethiopia by introducing the Indian practice of smoking ganja that has completely diverted the movement until this day. This fact is confimed by Leonard P. Howell, who himself told the Jamaican Daily Gleaner, November 23, 1940, that "After my travels and subsequent return to the United States, I became attracted to the Ras Tafarites and afterwards returned home to Jamaica to preach its tenants."

    • @@siphiwebaleka3303 Since it's coming like I'm talking to a fucking bumboclat idiot. 1. The volume books were published in 2018 and written by someone who was trying to repatriate the Rastafari community to Ethiopia from 2000 to 2007, which doesn't have anything to do with the past. 2. I already searched for the Jamaican Gleaner article from 1940, there's nowhere that says that. Howell was in prison by that time and had deported in 1932, I searched and found that he was only in New York with Garvey. 3. There's barely enough evidence about that relating to Rastafari, all there is, is a newspaper from 1920 talking about the so-called organization lead by a white leader who killed two people and injured several people in a riot. 4. There's only a Reverend Thomas Webb who died during the 19th century. You're telling me not to be lazy, but I had looked it up previously and found absolutely nothing from your little sham. Yeah, it's the information age you dumbass, but it doesn't mean anyone can't change the information as well.
