I was hoping that I would learn how to do this at home in my basement, simply and on the cheap. Turns out, it is best left to the professionals of course!
I was hoping that Santa brings me a Lambo in purple. Guess what I can feel your disappointment.
Try mtn chrome paints.
@@ETOE Damn that was cold...
@@rodolfoo3015 if you want to get disappointed as hard as having cancer just try to do chrome with spray cans.
@@ETOE better ask for a nyancat Ferrari and not being sued. Purple Lambo is something achievable, even if you're not Rick Ross
Wow, the first person who explains all the process at 100%. Thanks Martin for your MasterClass.
Glad it was helpful!
You know that Martin is concentrating and getting serious when he doesn't get in a left and right handed spray gun flip!!!! 😮😧😧😂🤣😂
Been missing these videos! LOVE watching Martin create!
I just did my first hardtail frame using your videos as a guide. It came out absolutely perfect....like a new car's paint job. It took 4 weeks of prep and painting but totally worth the patience.
Great to hear!
I once did a flawless paint job with spray cans. It was great!
amazing finish. i loved it in the stainless steel!
Oh, wow, my dreambike comes true! Im totally impressed and very thankful to you for sharing your knowledge and creativity with us - and your friendly smile, for sure. After many years of study, I want to become a painter. Your skills are fascinating me and paint the world with their unique color and glow. Thanks, Martin, the frame shimmery gorgeously!!
Happy too see Sandra back in action! Something even Trek cannot afford to have
Hands down one of the prettiest looking paint jobs I've seen! Well done sir!
Thanks, it's a fookin fairground both. I would never ride such a monstrosity.

Damn! I needed this video a couple of weeks ago. Great results. Saving it for my future bikes as chrome is my color! 😅
there's so much value on this video. I love it. Subscribed!
Mate you're really hooked me into this painting thing. Now I've repainted my bike my helmet my game controlers and I am looking all around my house for shit to repaint. I hate sanding but still do it all the way through
🤣🤣 It is addictive ain't it.
Thanks, that is the best video. I paint bikes myself, and everything you do and use reflects my experience. You are way ahead of me, so I say that with respect and to let other viewers that you have it right. .. sanding that last clear coat to get the logo on is heartbreaking, but it's got to be done. Good tip about the sandpaper on the sponge. Thanks again.
What a stunning paint job , I love bright crazy colours , I’ve this trek design on the T de F I love it 👍
Thanks. Your best vid so far as you showed more of the actual doing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Although I don't know how to spray paint, watching your videos is a form of enjoyment.
Glad you like them!
You’re a true master !
Shared this to all of my friends !!
Unreal paintjob Martin.
Feels real standing here in front of me 😉
Great video Martin ..Thank you Love your work !
Splendid. Very instructive! Thanks!
its a masterpiece, so enjoyable watching the whole process
Outstanding!!!
Fabulous!
Looks like tempered titanium awesome!
Thanks.
Great video, huge inspiration, keep it up!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Really nice paintjob! So liquid metal goes over non-sanded clearcoat? Wonder if finish would be different if you sanded clear with 2000grit then finished with 3000 machine sander.
High quality stuff bro
Great video😮 Can you also make a video of restoring paint with spray cans?
26 seconds in and I already hit that like button.
You are a MASTER Thanks!!!!
You're welcome!
Guter und Informativer Content. Du kannst was 👌 Etwas weniger gezwungen wirkendes Entertainment und es macht mir persönlich noch mehr Spaß zuzuschauen. Dennoch Daumen hoch 👍
Absolutely lovely
Thanks a lot.
wow... man, i'd be your apprentice :) fantastic job and knowledge .. i would work for you to learn .. keep it comming! :)
Please review the ventilation and heating of the paint booth.
Holy chromes!
진짜 대단한 실력과 섬세함을 가지고 계시는군요... 기회가 된다면 꼭 제 자전거도 맡겨보고 싶습니다 ^^; 진짜 멋집니다
Thanks a lot.
Uuuuuf excelente ❤❤, saludos desde república Dominicana
Spectacular!
chrome color is perfect
Thanks
Y recuerdo cuando se reían de los juguetes japoneses por usar estos colores . Se ve hermosa . Saludos
hi, first of all, congratulations, you are very good! 👍🏻 Unfortunately, I didn't understand everything about paints! I can't speak English very well! could you please describe exactly what paint you used to achieve the final result, the order in which you used the paints and the mixing ratio, what are the names of these paints? Thank you in advance for your reply. My little girl's dream is to be like this for bmx Kind regards, Roland
Hammer 👊
Danke!
Thanks a lot. That helps to create new videos.
That liquid metal effect was gorgeous, I’m surprised you didn’t leave some sections bare of colour. Brilliant job though!
I'm surprised as well.
beautiful.
Woooowwww amazing ❤
If I ever buy my dream gravel bike, it's going straight to Martin for a respray.
Go ahead
Wow … Awesome video and artwork. May I ask what is the best way to keep the paint art mint while keeping the integrity of the carbon intact? I was thinking about ceramic coating or PPF. How would the pain hold up with PPF and the sun or heat if I may ask?
Du bist ein sehr sehr geiler Lackierer👌👍
Ich war noch nie Lackierer und will auch nie einer werden, aber danke.
nice job
Such an amazing result! Lucky owner! Can i ask why you put the clear coat on and sand before the logo? Why not just clear coat after the logo
To waste as much lifetime as possible.
Honestly you can get a nice result with mtn chrome paints.
Wow!
Another awesome job!!
Oh thank you!
Just BEAUTIFULLLLLLL: 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Awesome)
Excellent...
Have you tried to do temperature change colors on bicycles? I think it would be interesting for those who want a warmer color in winter and a colder color in the summer. What do you think?
Yes I did please watch this video: kzhead.info/sun/iq-gmqlvqqmceJs/bejne.htmlsi=d4NspSZyR6aBHQe3
Hello @ETOE, thanks for your videos, your work is amazing. You inspired me to paint my bike from Montana GOLD can, like in one of your videos, and i was pretty satisfied with result at first, but when i started using my bike i noticed that paint was really soft, when i stripe my bike to bike rack on the car i see dents on paint from stripes, and on the top frame tube paint come off almost to the primer or carbon. (it never happened with my original paint) I put 3-4 layers of paint and let it dry 10-15 minutes between coats and let it dry completely for 2 days, after i put 2-3 layers of 2K of clear coat and let it dry for few days. Maybe i did something wrong? I did it outside and the temperature was different in different days (from 22 to 33 +-) I will appreciate your answer a lot... paint was really good, but all ruined because of softness of paint or clear coat.
You trapped too much solvents in the paint caused by a lack of painting skills. Remove the complete paint job and start all over again with professional paints ( no spray cans) in a climate controlled environment if you want to achieve a factory like finish.
@@ETOE thanks a lot for answer. Maybe if I gonna use heat gun, a bit, to help paint to dry, or it's not possible to get good result with can paint ? I thought this 2k clear coat should make it really strong )
Kannst du mir verraten wo du einen Rohen Carbonrahmen her hast? Grüße außem Ländle
Ja gerne. Vom Kunden.
Sometimes you just admire talent knowing it's beyond you. Excellent.
Do you recommend to spray the bike in chrome with regular chrome spray cans, if done properly? I want to paint my old mountain bike and chrome looks really nice. For information: its a spray can thought for painting car parts.
I really just want to know more about the paint hardeners and sealants. I did a Schwinn in Krylon Colormorph, and I can scratch it with my fingernails.
My Advice is to watch Martin's earlier videos and he goes through each step of preparation, primer, color and clear coat!! It's not as simple as one can of paint does everything.... as you've found out!!!!😢
Color is like women. Some days at the month it's impossible to handle it.
holy moly.
superb
Hello Martin! The reflective power of the chrome always go down by a lot when I put the clearcoat on top of it… does this intercoat help to keep it reflective? Since you did apply the candy I cannot really say…
Das ist schon ziemlich geil.
That's some fine work. Good job. The colors is a bit too much for my taste. I liked it at the point where it looked like a steel bike and some black and white graphics added.
I am speechless when I saw the masking alone... not to mention sanding off the clear coat only to apply the logo! BTW, why it is preferable to sandoff the clear coat for logo instead of just painting the logo above the candy and apply the clear coat altogether?
Just try it and you'll find out 😏
I have 1996 diamondback like to restored but the time and budget wise..
Hey, cooles bike!!! Was für ein plotter ist das?
I have a chromoly frame from the 80s, can the metal be polished to make it mirror-like, then a 2k clear coat, and then add color or is it necessary to paint with chrome first?
How much weight do you add to the frame when you do a fantastic paint job like that?
Not more than the weight of a French baguette.
Friend, what liquid do you use to clean before painting? alcohol?
I painted my bicycle today and i painted my other bicycle about a week ago just primer it was plated with nickel or chrome and i didnt have best adhesion didnt do much prep
Great 👍👍😍😍
Thank you! Cheers!
I would be curious to the weight of the frame before and after that rad paint job.
I would be curious about your weight before and after your rad morning poop.
Martin is our teacher)))
I'm not a teacher. Teachers get payed. I'm just a stupid idiot wasting his lifetime.
@@ETOE Martin, you do a lot of good things for people! We learn from you, you give a lot that others don’t share. You inspired me to paint frames. I also share with people)
