  • I just want to say thanks for doing these videos, there is certainly some information I get from this channel, which I cannot find from others. Also, any unbiased review channel helps, as everyone is gonna have different opinions on mice, so it's good to get multiple perspectives. Here's to another year of mouse reviewing (:

  • Flawless video as per usual, I can only second everything you said about the XM1, GPX and NP-01 (I don't have the S)... We have slightly different grip styles (just the palm contact area) and I have the same exact issues with the XM1, GPX while for the NP-01 it's currently my main mouse and I also believe that Vaxee's click feeling reigns supreme on all the other mice I tried, the cable stiffness isn't a bother as just like you said, with proper cable management you can't feel a thing... Thanks for your uploads :)

  • any thoughts on the viper mini or orochi v2? great vid btw and grats on 1k

    @9core@9core2 жыл бұрын
    • Ty! Both of those mice are enjoyable in their own ways and I was going to include them in an honorable mentions section, but I never ended up making that part to keep the video more focused. The Orochi v2 is a very fun mouse to use and I have been consistently going back to it since release, but my performance is always a little too inconsistent for it to be a go-to. The claw-ftip hybrid I use has an excellent range of motion and feeling of freedom when combined with wireless, but it lacks some needed stability. Plus the high sensor position is kind of weird feeling and I've never preferred it over centered or low sensors. The viper mini is a mouse I can aim very well on but it gets uncomfortable pretty quickly. There is this oddly curved spot on the side of the mouse where my ring finger always awkwardly hits which inhibits my ability to get a comfortable grip that doesn't hurt my hand after an hour or so. I could probably develop a new grip that doesn't hit this spot, but I'm not willing to put the time that requires because the mouse doesn't feel that high quality.

      @KraftyCraftKraf@KraftyCraftKraf2 жыл бұрын
  • Coming from the GPRO for around 2.5 years and fingertip gripping it switching from that to the G303 was insanely hard. Also, I tried fingertip grip with it and it was impossible but that could be the way I fingertip it. Then, with claw grip was many times more feasible than the fingertip but I still had issues which ended up being a deal breaker for me, the major one being how I would end up gripping it, as I claw gripped it my pinkie would end up "falling" off the mouse and drifting apart from it while playing. So, while holding it the left side of the mouse feels good but the right side ends up for me being too abnormal and end up trying to find the spot to place my fingers and putting them forward which felt awkward as well as causing the pinkie issue. So, now I'm returning it and going to be trying the Orochi V2 and the Hati S Wireless.

  • You know what my biggest problem was with the gpro x superlight, the fact that its almost an “in between” mouse. It doesnt have a low profile shape like the xm1r (my favorite), and its also not an ergo shape like the ec series for example. Its just in between these, kind off. This gives it the famous status it has because it can reach any mouse user because the shape is so neutral. But…. I also believe that its therefore not perfect to pretty much anyone, because if you like the superlight you kind of need to ask why you like it more than other designs. I used it and then realized i like the low profile much more so switched to the xm1r. But i also have friends who used the superlight and switched to the much more ergo shapes, in this case the ec3 series. I could be completely wrong but i still believe this till this day. Anyway great review!

    • That's almost exactly how I feel about the GPX as well. It's the most milquetoast mouse I've ever used but it kinda works because of that. You don't always need something that excels at a specific thing and sometimes a workhorse is good enough to get the job done. Still could be so much better if it had an actual shape though.

In the mean time, I'm considering getting the G303 SE (and modding with a smaller battery to get a 62 g weight). I liked the original G303, but thought it was a little too small. I think the new G303 SE is basically what I'm looking for, as I have the same grip type as you and nearly the same hand size (18 x 11). • Fantastic video. I have the ZA13-c on the way The EC2 was one of my favourite mice. And I always said the EC needed a bigger hump and lower front and that is the ZA series. However the S2 just didn't feel natural for me so I moved on. I think its as my natural claw is more aggressive Pincer closer to Knuckle claw. Though right now I just got the SL-12 Phantom and wow is the weight impressive. Will be great to be able to compare these shapes. Failing that I may try the Shroud G303 though when I had the old g303 for a while I wasn't a fan so I'm reluctant on that and think It might suit more a straight pincer claw. And lastly the M2k...But that's a hefty one on the bank. But could suit my claw however I worry my claw Isn't aggressive enough. Watching N0ted get used to it has been a sight though. The SL would be a great one for you to compare against these. I could be wrong with some grips, full palm maybe. But for most I think the SL's shape is better in every way to the G Pros super safe shape. Thanks for the video and quality content as always.

  • Hey mate, old time competitive-style PC gamer and I've always been a wired mice user (+bungee) because of latency and battery issues with wireless mice (from way back - 2011+ god, I feel old). These issues kinda stirred me away from using any wireless mice all these years.. As you are probably more knowledgeable, is it better now? Have you noticed any difference with wired and wireless mice in terms of speed nowadays? Cheers. Great video, btw - short and direct. Love it!

    @OverseerPC@OverseerPC2 жыл бұрын
    • Yeah, it's way better than the early implementations. Modern wireless gaming mice from large companies will perform just as well as wired options, and in the case of Logitech or Razer, even better. You will never feel it perform worse aside from a placebo. If anything, I think Logitech's hero sensor feels better than most wired mice. It's crazy smooth and crisp feeling. Battery life is getting really good too. Logitech mice and will last you a couple weeks per charge, razer is just slightly worse, battery-powered ones last a couple months, and even the worst rechargeable options last at least a couple of days. The only concern you should ever have is that you may get interference if you live in a densely populated apartment block from there being many 2.4 GHz devices in close proximity. But every other situation works perfectly. If you want to see some cool data about wireless performance you can check out the written reviews on techpowerup, they give very detailed data about sensor latency, and OptimumTech here on youtube also does a similar thing in a very digestible format.

      @KraftyCraftKraf@KraftyCraftKraf2 жыл бұрын
    • @@KraftyCraftKraf Excellent thanks for that. It's good to know after all these years now, it's finally mature. Oh, one more thing. With the wireless mouse dongle... Now, that you mentioned latency... Is it ok to just plug it in the keyboard USB slot so it's closer? Would that affect input latency, or is it still recommended to plug in the top USB ports of the back I/O (like for wired options)? My PCs are all under my desk because I do a lot of testings for my channel and don't have enough space in the desk for the PCs. I'm just worried that may affect response if the desk acts as a barrier. Cheers.

      @OverseerPC@OverseerPC2 жыл бұрын
    • All wireless mice come with a usb to micro/usbc charging cord and an adapter for the dongle to allow it to act like an extender. You can very easily run the cord up next to your mousepad and plug the dongle in there to ensure no interference happens. You’d probably be fine without the extender but this configuration is what’s always recommend by manufacturers.

I got the G Pro Superlight and i like it alot, the problem i got with it and the same referes to the XM1 is when i play vertical games like for example Apex, or Halo. I just dont get a relaxed, confident grip on theese shapes, its just not working. Its hard because i played PUBG for the last 5 years and i thought i will never need another mouse ever again. Well.. since i play Apex i just realized i need to increase my sensitivity or look for another mouse.. hmmmm.. easy choice.. • do you use corepads on the g303? wondering how they compare to stock for val also just curious if you score better in aim trainers with the za13 over the g303? I struggle to break scores w/ the g303 cause of the weight but it's so natural to hold and aim in-game

    @rhapsoz@rhapsoz2 жыл бұрын
    • No, I'm still using the stock ones. They're not terrible so I'm going to wait for pulsar's glass skates to come out and test those on it. I do score consistently better with the za13 and I'm still seeing steady improvement as my grip on the shape develops. It feels excellent for mouse control and edges out the g303 for all scenarios except large-angle stuff where they start to feel pretty even due to the g303's more locked in grip. The g303 still feels more practical in-game, but the za13 is such an aim trainer demon that my mouse control with the shape might get good enough to justify maining it. The za13 is noticeably lighter than the g303, but not by a whole lot. It's weight is at a spot where it feels like a bridge between the standard and lightweight mice so it should feel a little better. You're a static main iirc so I can understand the appeal of using low weights to cheese speed, but my aim feels particularly snappy on the za13 because of how you can hold the hump and put force into the mouse. It could be worth giving the mouse a shot if you are willing to put the time to learn a more ape-y style.

    @f4rs0t90@f4rs0t902 жыл бұрын
    • I just checked it out. It's an okay system to develop a grip shorthand, but it's a little lacking imo. The palm contact section needs to specify where on your hand the mouse makes contact and including the angle you hold the mouse at relative to your arm but not the angle you tilt your wrist relative to the table is really weird. I might make a future video where I steal the idea of the shorthand system but expand upon it further to try to make it more useful for shape recommendations. Using his system, my grip style is: Anchored, Straight, Hybrid Palm, Claw, Wheel/Behind sometimes, Separated, 18 * 9-9.5 cm. Yeah, the g303se sounds pretty clunky for ftip, but I can still see the potential in getting a solid grip on it.

    @suryamadhav3183@suryamadhav31832 жыл бұрын
    • The za13 should be a better fit for you. The front end is going to feel similar to the viper mini but the back is much higher so it’ll fill out your hand far more and give more support. The s2 on the other hand is larger than the viper mini in every way so it might get a little clunky and the top is flatter which gives it a different feel.

  • Thank you for all these detailed reviews What would you consider for a 18x10 pincer/relaxed claw grip ? I can’t choose between XM1R, S2 and ZA13

    @SackDesign@SackDesign2 жыл бұрын
    • The za13-c is definitely the top recommendation. It should work out great for your grip style and its an incredible shape overall. The s2 is still a good option if you don't like mice that have an aggressive design and want something that is comfortable and more neutral feeling. Then the xm1r is only for you if you want a larger mouse that fills your hand as much as possible and provides maximum stability.

  • Have you tried the NP-01?

    @FriendNotFoeBand@FriendNotFoeBand2 жыл бұрын
    • Yeah I have and I like it overall. The shape is very well designed and it feels comfortable and consistent in-game, but the back is so large that it creates too much contact with my palm and makes the whole mouse feel excessively clunky and hard to finely control.

  • I have 18.5by 9.5 hands , i play fingertip/palm grip hybrid ! Best mice for me? Thank you

    @mamoudharguem4749@mamoudharguem47492 жыл бұрын
    • It's hard for me to judge what would work for a grip like that but I think the zowie fk series mice would work the best for this style. They're long so you can extend your hand out for a fingertip grip but still have the mouse hit your palm a little. The fk2 should be a good size but the fk1 could also work if you like larger mice and really want your hand filled out more. Still, I'm out of my element recommending for this grip.

  • I'm surprised none of the EC shapes made it to your list.

    @serovlade0@serovlade02 жыл бұрын
    • While I really enjoy EC shapes, the criteria I put on the list prevented them from making it. My aim style is quite different on those mice. It's much calmer which does make my performance quite consistent, but my control over slanted designs isn't as good so there is always an element of awkwardness to them that makes it hard to potentially main one. EC style mice are fun to use and a nice change of pace from symmetricals, but they could never be the go-to mouse for me, only an interesting option to have on the side that could bring some variety.

      @KraftyCraftKraf@KraftyCraftKraf2 жыл бұрын
    • @@KraftyCraftKraf That's also how I find the EC shapes. Much more calmer to use, which in effect is easier to clutch with in sweaty situations. My aim is still way better when I'm on the NP-01s though. The NP-01s is the mouse where I usually get to top frag, but the EC shapes (Outset, EC3) are the mice where I 1v6 clutch in Apex. It's really a tough choice for me which one to main, but at the moment I'm leaning towards the EC3 because my hand naturally tilts.

    @kingofyoursoul@kingofyoursoul2 жыл бұрын
    • Yeah I play some apex. Just pubs though, there are more efficient methods of self harm. Recently, the Saturn has been my go-to. My tracking always feels more consistent when I have some extra friction and the Saturn does a good job of giving that without any muddiness. I've been enjoying its smoothness as well.

    @ryaxyus4173@ryaxyus41732 жыл бұрын
    • The m2k is really good and I like using it a lot, but it doesn't really fit in on the list. It feels so unlike anything else and it takes me like a week to even get comfortable with it again and even longer before I'm performing well. The performance ceiling of the mouse is undeniable but it's not something that I could pick up and feel great on in no time like the rest of the mice on this list. I feel like it belongs in its own category far away from my personal top mice list.

    • @@KraftyCraftKraf I use the same grip as you, I prefer all contact on back part of pinky/ ring finger pads, the MZ1 forces you to grip it differently, the hump is too large and gets rid of the freedom for this grip style. So far the viper mini is the best I have aimed with. Trying the NP-01s rn but I don't have as much freedom as with the viper mini. I have the 303s otw, I love your videos!
