  • Kicking off the New Year with this classic French tune! Honestly not sure if French people love or hate this song?..but we can all agree that Paris is the most magical this time of year. Feeling very nostalgic about it today. Une très BONNE ANNEE à vous tous!!! ❤️🎉‪🍾‬

Aux Champs-Elysées, aux Champs-Elysées At the Champs- Élysées, at the Champs- Élysées Au soleil, sous la pluie, In the sun, under the rain à midi ou à minuit At noon or at midnight Il y a tout ce que vous voulez aux Champs-Elysées There is everything you want at the Champs- Élysées Tu m'as dit "J'ai rendez-vous You told me: "I have a date dans un quart d'heure avec des fous In a quarter of an hour with crazy people Qui vivent la guitare à la main, Who live with guitar in hand du soir au matin" From evening to morning" Alors je t'ai accompagnée, So, I accompanied you on a chanté, on a dansé We sang, we danced Et l'on n'a même pas pensé And we didn't even think à s'embrasser About kissing. Aux Champs-Elysées, aux Champs-Elysées At the Champs- Élysées Au soleil, sous la pluie In the sun, under the rain à midi ou à minuit At noon or at midnight Il y a tout ce que vous voulez There is everything you want aux Champs-Elysées At the Champs- Élysées

I thought I recognized it, so after getting home I just looked up 'Champs Elysees song'... turns out this was the song we learned to sing in Year 5 (9-10 years old) on the school trip to Normandy from the UK. Pretty sure we drove our teachers nuts with it, but I'd completely forgotten about this song until 18-19 years later. Absolutely love this version! Have had it on repeat for nearly half a day now...

I may not be French (culturally, racially, or nationally), but I hold France and the French culture close to my heart when I can. I must be honest, in that im not very good at French right now. But one day I hope to effortlessly understand and speak the language, and visit the country whenever possible. What im trying to say is to follow your dreams- even if theyre small, big, easy, or hard- youll get over that wall. And if you look back, youll see your progress grow. • I'm listening to this as someone who doesn't speak French properly. And there are tiny, little things I am finding with this song that I think only a non-speaker would. The way most pronunciations of the alphabet come through the nose. R's peculiar pronunciation. The softness of the lyrics. I think it is very beautiful that our experiences are so different and and special at the same time.

  • You know what I like most about the channel? It isn’t the beardy bois or the flannel. Nor is it the the musicians as beautiful as their music. I’ll tell you the secret about why I love their music: they have genuine joy flowing from their lips and dancing from their hips and with the thrum of every drum and flim of every flam you can feel the glam of this musical jam!
