I love how Yolanda keeps saying they’re very competitive and frames it like they’re always fighting to top the other when in reality they have always been and still are so close and so very supportive of each other, always trying to help the other and give advice. The diet and exercise is part of the job. Dieting and exercise is also part of being healthy and looking good. Americans preach about loving their bodies and eating whatever they want, but 40% are obese. There's something fundamentally wrong about that.

She was being realistic about her daughter’s career. If Gigi was an athlete it would be a different story, it would be practicing for hours everyday. But being a model, knowing high end fashion designer prefer thin then dieting is part of the everyday requirements. At least nibbling was allowed without yelling.

Her TDEE should be around 2000 if she is active, which she almost certainly is given her occupation. So while she may have the calorie buffer to eat healthy tacos or small burgers every once in a while, she certainly is not eating as much or as often as I think both Hadid girls like to imply on social media. Don't be fooled: all models have to be very conscious of what they eat in order to maintain their thin frames.

There is no such thing as "naturally fat" or "naturally skinny." It always comes down to calories in-calories out. That is simple thermodynamics. Model thin women have to either eat very very little or a slightly higher amount while maintaining a high level of exercise in order to stay an underweight size.

It is *not possible* to eat above your total daily energy expenditure and not gain weight. If your friend eats like a horse, it's because she is burning excess energy elsewhere to lose those calories and remain at her current weight.
