Lyrics Explained: [Verse 1] I'm concerned when you look at my face You're excited for no reason I look lost with a drink in my hand What you think is fair ain't even even It's cold outside from my expression Take the scarf and wrap it around my neck Loosen up my tie - the first verse paints the picture of Justin and Hailey at the alter, moments before being bewedded. Justin can’t understand why Hayleys excited, because to him, he’s broken, lost with a drink In his hand (the drink being a symbol of his drug abuse) [Chorus] At least for now Trying to avoid disappointment At least for now One finger at a time, I turn the pages, yeah - The chorus talks about the reality of drug addiction. He can’t make any promises of being sober forever, so for now, he’s just trying to not let anyone down; taking it one day at time. [Verse 2] Right leg crossed while you're smokin' a cigarette Camera's on the couch, ain't nobody takin' pictures Throw my arms around you, bear witness The stripes on my shirt, can you read between the lines? You sip champagne while I sip on red wine Never mind me watchin' you, never mind the tension Please excuse me while I dance, I forgot to mention I'm going on strike - the second verse paints the picture of Justin and Hailey alone after the wedding. Everyone’s gone, nobody's take pictures. He asks if she can read between the lines, using his shirt as an analogy (which is intentional). This has a much deeper meaning: he’s asking if she can see through to what others can’t. - Now, the last part. He mentions the tension, and this is very international. Justin and Hailey saved themselves for marriage, and now they’re sharing it for the first time. He quotes “excuse me while I dance” ‘Dancing’ often used when teaching kids about sex. And the very last quote “I’m going on strike” refers to taking a stance on his newfound life. This is a very moving song and really closes out the album with strong emotions and a glimpse into the reality of his life from here-on-out.

I can feel the vibes in this song. Going through depression and anxiety can take over and you feel guilty for the lack of what you can offer others, which makes you that much more disappointed.. when you just want to be the best version of yourself, especially to those you feel really deserve it and have been patient and just more than you deserve (like Hailey). I feel his heart in these words. he is trying to avoid disappointments (such as his illness, career and life changes, mental health) just to keep his head above water so he won't ruin the moment and just enjoy his life. He wants to give himself that, he wants to give Hailey that, He wants to give his fans that. It's hard to give something you feel you don't have in the moment. I am so glad he took the time to take care of himself (or like he says 'at least for now'), because you can't pour out of an empty cup. One day at a time. Love you, Justin.

best song on the album. please nominate it for a grammy. justin standing on stage, lit with a single spotlight, holding the mic on a stand the way The Verve singer used to perform live at shows. Basically, the performance of ALFN should be Justin just SINGING. No dancing. There wouldn't be a single dry eye in the house. When I heard this song for the 1st time, I had immediate goose bumps as soon as I heard Justin's voice. His pure voice lifted my soul up. As the song went on, my spirit was lifted higher and higher. As if I could reach the invisible realm. The realm I'm always looking for in life. The realm I rarely experience in life. Justin's resonating voice, the microtones in his melodies, complex rhythm of the melodies, & repetitive synthesizer... Allowed me to reach there. At Least For Now Trying to avoid disappointment. I think of it as a very heterogeneous piece of art both uplifting (Peaches/Die for you) and introspective (Unstable/Ghost) as he shares some of his deepest thoughts and other ulterior feelings but also wants us to have a fun time listenning to it... so the whole package really shows how much he's maturred as an artist

- Yummy was just a radio hit. It was meant to have that catchy beat that would get people listening. It also got him more attention especially with people getting mad saying it sucked which gave him even more marketing. It was a pretty smart move tbh

- I've listened to several of his new songs already that just dropped~ & almost all of them are slow jams. It was a good move to 1st release one of the only new ones ppl can get up & dance to. & I agree that it's a marketing strategy. Miley Cyrus has admitted that shes done that too. All her twerking she did on stage, etc? She admitted she knew it would get ppl talking about her & get her in the media~ which is publicity for her new album.
