Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha MP, Swati Maliwal, on Friday, recorded her statement before a magistrate at Delhi’s Tis Hazari court about the alleged assault on her by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s aide Bibhav Kumar. The Delhi Police has already registered an FIR in the matter and named Kumar as an accused in the case.
On Monday morning, Maliwal went to the Civil Lines police station in the national capital and alleged that a member of Kejriwal’s personal staff “assaulted” her at the chief minister’s official residence.
In her complaint to the police, Maliwal recounted the sequence of events of the assault and said she went to meet the Chief Minister on Monday. After reaching his home office, she tried calling Bibahv and Kejriwal for some work but got no response, so she went to the residential compound.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah suggested that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s campaign for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) or the opposition’s INDIA bloc during the Lok Sabha Election 2024 would not bear fruits as people will remember the ‘scam’ and his association with the alleged liquor policy case whenever they see him.
“As a voter, I think wherever he’ll go for the poll campaign, the people will remember the liquor scam, even in Punjab. Kayi logon ko toh badi bottle dikhai padegi (many people will see big bottles in front of them when they see Kejriwal),” Shah told news agency ANI during an interview.
