  • idk if anyone reads the comments on this anymore but i wanted to say i empathise. I lost my own mom to cancer in 2021 and it destroyed me, I was a full time carer to her and the strong woman who raised me faded away right in front of me, and it traumatised me too. I'd never seen death so up close and it haunted me. I had regrets and questions and i had to deal with it all at once, funeral planning and contacting businesses about her passing, it was all too much. I became a hermit and lived in a hoard mess. My room was top to bottom trash. I could barely walk through it. Everyday when i walked in there was a curtain of flies i had to battle and spray. I was living off of soda and plastic forks too. I used one bowl i only washed when it was really bad. I had take out food everyday that just made me feel even shitter. And people ask how do you live like that? And the answer is; i just ignored it. It was a blank space in my head, i ignored it until i couldnt open the door properly anymore. Some things happened in life and i needed to change so one day i got some bin bags and just picked it up put it in.i repeated it like a mantra "pick it up put it in" and i did that until all the trash was gone. and it was hard and it took days. Then my boyfriend came over and helped deep clean the rest of the house (we were long distance). I couldnt have gotten out of that hole on my own and you seem to have people that care and love you. Its ok to reach out, no man is an island is what i learned when my mom passed, Ive always been an introvert and wanted to be alone but now i see the importance of having people in your life. Its not a weakness to ask for help, it takes a strong person to keep going. And now i look back to how i used to live and it feels like a fever dream. The room im in now is clean, its unreal how bad it was. But its now a weight off my shoulder and im doing a lot better. I'm not a fan of Asmongold, i dont watch your streams but you're still a human being and you deserve to be happy. I just wanted to write this in case anyone in a similar situation needs it, you can climb out of the hole. It will be hard, but once you're out you'll be free.

Instead he's stopped doing the dishes and just gets plastic ones instead. He hasn't changed anything about the house to make it "his" instead he's trying to preserve it the way it was. • Watching this feels actually somewhat relatable to me, as Tectone said, "it's like a time capsule" and yeah, he lived there with his parents until it was just him and his mother until she passed, and I'm basically in the same boat, my mother died but her things are still in the same places... while I can understand why someone would call these things trash, these things for me mean memories.

I never really gave it much thought until now. it's nice to know there's other ppl in the same boat. ppl that played WoW, MTG, shared life experiences, etc etc. its even crazier that someone like that became a super popular streamer.' edit: i also never moved out and we played games together, watched anime, etc.. lost my best friend at the same time. life is pretty harsh

I haven't been in there since its been cleaned out, i can move clothes in there and set the bathroom up and things like that but im still fighting to pull myself out of bed most days, let alone start to take over what was my parents room for 41 years. • Same for me. I inherited the house I live in from my mom after she died back in 2020. Except for the three years I was in college and the 6 months when I rented an apartment, I have lived in my house since I was a baby. Grew up here, and I'm going to stay here until the day I die. There is some clutter, but it is not as bad as I have seen in most other houses I've been in or seen on TV (hoarder shows) or as it looks here in Asmon's house. Things do need fixing here, but I live on a fixed income and am physically disabled from a work accident that happened 10 years ago. I just don't have enough money to fix the place up like it should be. He has money, I understand, enough to clean his place up proper. I've known a couple of old men who had their own businesses and were very frugal. They dressed like farmers and country boys with overalls and caps. To look at them you wouldn't think they were wealthy. No aspersions on Asmon, he lives like he wants to, it is his life, can't blame him for that.

He’s talked many times about how he just doesn’t spend any of his money because he sees no reason to except spending it on food and things for gaming, he invests everything and has so much money that he doesn’t know what to do with it so he just does nothing because he likes how he lives already.
