Xiaomi is a world leader in smartphones and consumer electronics, just not in America. They are doing what Apple could not, bring an EV to market. This could be the most significant EV introduction of 2024.

$37k for that car? Damn i wish they sell that here. Its a steal at that price.
it actually starts from usd29 999😉
It'd be labelled as a major national security threat in the US and therefore banned.
No way, tax/tariff would kill this new competitor.
@@hermesliteratus882 it is... it would destroy Ford, GM, Chrysler... so no more campaign donors for politicians.
Xiaomi is Not Only a smartphone company but More than Consumer electronics company that sells toothbrush to Car rn!
So the car can also brush my teeth? 🙄🙄
In term of look, Avatr 12, NIO CT5 and Polestar 4 are great in design.
i thought the Seal looked great apart from the actual BYD logo and the ridiculous build your dream slogan stretched along the boot! if they adjusted the font and logo to not be so big then it would be a 10 out of 10 for looks and for BYDs first generation EV BUT right now Xiaomis logo is simple and understated which i like plus the look of the car is even better than the Seal imo plus its supposedly according to the internet, i have no idea how true it is, but supposedly around £24K in the UK.... The BYD Seal is supposdly £48K!!!! Thats £20K cheaper!!!! £20K can almost get you a decent ICE hatchback! almost! Again i have no idea which EV car out of the Seal and the SU7 is better in specs or performance!? But right now just aesthetically and rumoured price the xiaomi is winning me over..... But again an EV in the UK seems impossible as there are no charging stations or hardly any that ive seen.... but maybe because i dont pay attention to them.... but i cant fault the EV products from a target audience right now!
Looks amazing, I'd buy it

SU7 will be released three days later in China. The official SU7 Roadshow will be held at 19:00(+8, Beijing Time) on Mar 28.
Nice car inexpensive, relatively speaking very well equipped, very impressive, Tesla finally gets a worthy competitor and may be better than USA Tesla.
BYD is already competing with Tesla and even surpassed Tesla in terms on manufacturing
Nice review! Thanks!
Great review, Mike!
Good, very technical, a follow up may be warranted now that more information is available
A beautiful car ❤
amazing CAR amazing review
I just wish it wasn't a sedan. Here in Australia, we have the BYD Seal which is a sedan. I have been waiting for the BYD Seal U to arrive but now I hear that it's only available as a PHEV here. Why? What we need is a viable BEV SUV - something like the BYD Song L. Until these are available, I'm not buying another EV and will just continue to use my BYD Atto 3 which is excellent.
nice video thanks for sharing
Does this car have bidirectional charging? (V2H or V2G)
yes, it has 220V both ways.
There is noway America is going to allow this cars to come to America . If they do American auto industry would be dead
I guess the big diference from Xiaomi and Tesla for now is that Telsa controls almost the entiry manufacturing process of there vehicles, were Xiaomi subcontracts...and when things start to go wrong in the suppliers, it will very bad for consumers and therefore the brand itself. Anyway, Tesla is controlled by an entity that we know to be controversial and can also damage the brand, therefore also bad for consumers...haaa
You got it wrong, xiaomi hair their own factory based in Beijing. Check out CEO leijun’s latest factory tour video series
The industrial chain in China is extremely robust, encompassing multiple suppliers at every link. The intensity of competition among suppliers could be described as "Like gladiators in the arena" Should any supplier encounter an issue, others will immediately step in to fill the gap. This is also why Xiaomi can build a car in three years.
To create the SU7, Xiaomi hired Tianyuan Li, formerly of BMW‘s iX series and iVision concepts, and James Qiu of Mercedes-Benz‘s Vision EQXX design; BMW veteran Chris Bangle served as a design consultant. James Qiu rendered an RWB Porsche 964 with a Cyberpunk Visual Theme in 2021.
The stats 2:55 for the competitors cars are poorly picked versus a rumored $67k car (you could have picked a better BYD Han variant or a Model. 3 AWD variant). 6:20 The stats for the Taycan Turbo and Model S Plaid are just dead wrong. I would like to see a phone company do well in this space, would give legacies fits
looks very taycan-ish
40% cancellation rate due to knowledge of mass quality issues......lemon from the factory.
This car more look like classic sport car😀, im glad this car not any bit look like Apple products. 🤮
the next to be banned after huawei in usa.. it might happen
Just to say: XPeng isn't doing realy great these days... They are close to being broke. And all the time we still keep hearing about "faster, and even more power...." in the EV business. For what ??
If it goes bankrupt it will be because it is losing due to competition in sales and not because Xpeng is not good. Power, speed, range factors will continue to be included in sales advertisements because that is what consumers see, during the transition from ICE to EV, consumers will continue to compare "EV and ICE"
Apple also has the factory in China. 27.000 Euros beibeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee and 800km of autonomy 0-100km/h 2.6secs Who wants a Tesla now ? Dont worry Xiaomi is designed in Brussels.
This is not compatible to NIO with the quality setup, no advantage of technology and not a world class safety standards. In China, this is not a preferred car while there are many are better than this car
Are you in China? What the hell are you talking about? Do you know how many people are expecting this car? Xiaomi is a huge player in the EV market.
Yes. I am living in China and this is what we see and justify which EV brands provide better in fundamentals and technology advancement. Who has the huge infrastructural on battery charger setup! What has Xiao Mi offer on the charging station setup….zero! U could check on it online.
@@larrycheesengchung8155 How the number of charge stations becomes the standard of EV car technology? What's the logic behind?
Interesting information. Thank you. It is difficult to understand a different market from far away. I wish Xiaomi offered Battery Swapping- that would be a big deal.

The most important new EV of 2024 ?? Really ?? New ? By what definition ? Isn't it an exact copy of another VERY famous German sports car company's exact copy -who's copying whom ? How can this be the most important NEW EV of 2024. If Xiaomi cannot make its skin and contour distinct from all other cars, EV or not, how can this be a 'NEW' car of any sort ? What a fake and shameful declaration ! Watch the comparison in the following link. kzhead.info/sun/aqiDe7WsjF-Xi4E/bejne.htmlsi=H8yzGIRwKyFlkrXh
Don't be so bitter and jeleous. This car has better looks, better value, and better tech than the Porsche. Get over it, get used to it, welcome to the new world order 😘
@@Helena_ZeeThey are stuck by the look. But it is the tech that stands out which Western companies do not have or cost a lot!
This is not a value added EV…. But the cheap phone
iPhone is a cash cow magnet, It is for simple people who fall into their scam. I'm glad this one is an Android phone
Nice car but I don't like giant tablets in it. Driving machine.
Huawei was real apple of China not xiaomi
Expensive!!! For a piece of technology, it is supposed to be Chinese
