I think that Cecil's voice saying 'weather' activates the weather music more than anything else, even if he's not on the air, whenever Cecil says 'weather' the weather comes on
I think it's an automated program from The Vague Yet Menacing Government Agency that automatically blocks out his weather reports by playing music whenever he says the word weather. Kind of like a while back when he was talking about the clouds and they started interrupting him and telling him that he is not allowed to look at the sky. Cecil seems to actually think he's playing a pre-recorded weather segment.
In the September Monologues Steve said they talked about the weather, and then they kinda just stood around awkwardly while waiting for the music to end. Cecil wasn't even at the radio station lol But Emma's theory can also make sense. If Cecil isn't doing a broadcast, the secret police just plays music from speakers to stop him from mentioning the weather. Cecil knew this, so he used that to distract the citizens from attacking those people from the University of What It Is.

You know, for so long I thought the man in the tan jacket was the devil. It just made too much sense, it seemed too obvious. But no, of course it wasn't, we all know how that ended up. Of course the devil of WTNV wasn't gonna be a man with the tan jacket. That just makes too much sense. No. The devil of WTNV had to be a puppy. A cute little beagle. Who's a good boy? Wow... Cecil's voice acting in this episode was astounding. I love how evident the effort that the entire crew puts into this show to make it a uniquely creative experience every episode. This season has been so great. But sidenote... I hope Hiram isnt really dead O,_O, hearing the description of Hiram's breakdown before his death (especially the gold head finally breaking down!!) was so sad, AUGH and Jackson Publick is one of my favourite people ever. DANG IT NIGHT VALE!!! You're too good at delivering creepiness, humour, AND heartbreak! Too good!

As Cecil approached City Hall and saw something horrendous, I gasped 'No!' thinking Dana had been turned. Not knowing where she is is both a relief and a concern.
That noise at the very end scared the living shit out of me! But did anyone notice how Cecil was talking towards the end of this episode, he sounded kind of like the strangers. His words were broken up and forced.
if Cecil has become one of the strangers in part 2 the episode had better focus on Carlos trying to save him and the town, but mostly Cecil

Like SUPER dark and creepy. I thought "Company Picnic" was terrifying, but this was another level.
Kevin was innocent and the smiling god was an unraveling of space. Not destructive, but rather.. deconstructive. The smiling god was the careful and deliberate unraveling of the great glowing coils of the universe. Destructive, and deadly, but careful. This.. monster.. This is a ravenous, unplanned, and careless demolition.

Gurl, it got worse. You thought the cancellations were bad. In the future they've stopped cancelling anything. C0 vid scientists have been trying to get the general public to notice that c0 vid is far, far more like HIV than any cold. Yet most of the public still won't mask. Not even in hospitals. Which are regularly overwhelmed far beyond capacity. From 2024, wear a mask and run (and not to t*xas, they're actually hunting people there now).

I swear to God, if there's not an episode in two weeks then we'll know that the Beagle got his way. There is nothing. Nothing left. No Cecil, no Night Vale, thus nothing and no one to report. Ending it this way would somehow make an eerie but fitting end for Night Vale, although I don't think that that's been it. Or I hope so.

Carlos can't science his way outta this one. Chad is not human anymore. The beagle is literally satan. There is a ton or foreshadowing and I'm still crying about the fucking Bloodborne reference.

wow.... you know, after so many night vale episodes you kinda get used to the constant horror and surrealism so whenever they do a scene like "i am still in the mud!" that really gets you it's so impressive
well I am now convinced that the people who write this show are the spawn of HP Lovecraft's & Stephen King's nightmares, they were raised in Silent Hill and somehow managed to get out. Jesus Christ I've never been so creeped out!
Harbinger5581 this entire podcast cropped from the unused story ideas of H.P. Lovecraft. Its mentioned at the very beginning of the podcast, eps 1-15, i think. But they do mention it clearly as originating and taking inspiration from hp lovecraft unused stories.
