I also feel like one of the reasons why Scott is okay with fan games and other big corporations are afraid of them is because big corporations see the individual characters as what makes their game unique. This is why I love becoming a part of fandoms! It’s crazy that one person or a team of creators can affect hundreds if not thousands with their own work and have fans create things to show their appreciation. The fact that one game or show can inspire people to create their own games, art, music, theories and such gives me all the warm fuzzy feelings!!!

Never in my life did I expect to see Scott Cawthon and Sonic the Hedgehog, standing side by side as beacons of hope in the game industry, but I welcome it with open arms. Oh, also, if you want an example of an indie dev doing the exact opposite of what Scott is, I recommend looking into Yandere Dev, who, to abridge, has become a power hungry maniac who actively threatens and slanders people and groups trying to make fangames on account of the fact that he is literally never going to complete Yandere Simulator. Honestly I think that has a great deal to do with his upbringing he too was a game developer who is games originally didn’t go anywhere and since he sees potential in these games actually gaining traction and going somewhere he’s more than willing to help people achieve their goals which is awesome I swear to God he is one of the most generous game developers I’ve ever seen like bar none also the fact that there are multiple fan made Pokémon games and Phil made Pokémon fanart and none none not GameFreak nor Nintendo they don’t take that into consideration at all ever, it really grinds my gears man

Reminds me of Pokémon Brick Bronze :( For those who aren’t aware, Pokémon Brick Bronze was a Pokémon fan game made in Roblox and it was actually really fun. It had its own stories and characters and although it used similar Pokémon from past gens, it made its own story and environments Yet Nintendo sought to shut it down. The developers (from what I’ve heard) have been forced to remake the game under a new name, Loomian Legacy, and it’s still just as amazing as PBB (it even offers a cameo of a PBB character, Jake), but it still sucks. Because these people who loved Pokémon so much they made their own spinoff of it got shut down. I’m glad that they remade it in a new way, but I’ll always miss PBB and always be disappointed in Nintendo for putting down someone who was only a fan of the games

I have always been a HUGE fan of fan art, fanfic, etc. If I have recently watched something new and love it, I immediately want more. I go to Fanfic and DeviantArt, and I applaud them. My brain goes ninety miles an hour coming up with fanfics of my own [I literally have a journal overflowing with ideas I haven't even written yet! I just wish there wasn't always this looming threat to tear it all away. For me personally, I don't do it for money, I do it for entertainment purposes only. Because I love the original content so much, I don't want to leave the world, the characters, the experiences. I love just love fandom

Two things. One, this goes to show how nice of a content creator Scott is. He's probably the nicest one, cuz NO other company or person has ever made this kind of move. Two, what's sad is that only two (and I think three) of those plans for future fan games actually happened. Hey guys if you could be so kind to answer a couple questions for me. I haven’t watched this video yet and I’m watching his videos again up to one of the fazbear fright books. Anyways it’s said that fazbear frights was a replica of the original location which means it was built somewhere else but was made with the same design right ? (That’s my first question) My second question is, if what I just asked is true, how did spring trap get moved from the original location all the way to a building surrounded by a theme park ?
@Brett Stalling To answer your questions, Yes, Frazbear Frights is in a different location and uses the same design as the original place. From what was said, Springtrap was transferred by vehicle. Since Springtrap is still technically human, he could've just as easily pretend that it was just a suit that isn't active anymore.

Scott is literally the smartest game developer to ever exist, he is simultaneously doing what the fan base wants, yet still keeping it in his image. He is the George Lukas of games
Another great example of the "embrace extend" thing is undertale, there are thousands upon thousands of AU's, fanfictions, and fanart of that game, and toby fox has let it all happen, if anything, he encouraged it to happen.

Another example of a gaming company taking in fans to be part of their work: Hoyoverse, the company behind Genshin Impact, actually hires fanartists as official illustrators for the game, be it the game itself or promotional art. Now, they do things that ARE scummy and/or creepy, but I think that aspect of their company should be appreciated.

As an avid Pokémon lover since the early 2000's, I can't tell you how right you are. I always get so excited to see Fakémon or Pokémon videos, even fangames only for Nintendo to shoot us all down like a warzone. I am very proud of Scott and Sega, if I did something like this. I would definitely do the right thing, like what Scott and Sega are doing. I would use the same text and do... Well you know... But I would ANNIHILATE THE THIRD "E" OUT OF EXISTENCE! REDUCING IT TO ATOMS! And the other two would stay. And if they showed me a cool project, you know I would give them the control because if you think about it. And I mean, REALLY think about it. It's THEIR project, and if the they showed it to you and asked permission to release it and you said "yes." Yo @The Game Theorists, I was playing Final Nights 4 and deleted some files because I thought they stored the game because I couldn’t find it in there, then I found the game and it ran perfectly fine, I played through and got to Night 1, then I opened it again to delete my save for a YT video, I was starting up OBS then it showed me a weird image in black and white of Proto Springbonnie in what appears to be a broken/burnt building then I remembered the good ending when the building burnt down and I thought it could be hinting that the Proto animatronics survived the fire because we never saw them in the credits which means there are more animatronics to survive and give a possibility of a 5th game.
Let’s Agree: Scott is an amazing guy and outshines the biggest of game development company’s and should be an example to them.
