Jeongyeon. I have to comment that despite this year being most trying for most, if not all people, including me, you and your members have absolutely carried me through this long and difficult year. My introduction to TWICE occurred in 2019 and I had gradually began to learn about all of the members and the discography of TWICE. As I took the time to learn about each of the members of the, I always found myself gravitating towards you. Before I even knew all of the members’ names, I felt this spirit within you that constantly drew me to you. One of the first qualities that I noticed about you was your warm smile. I noticed how easily you smile even if you find yourself in situations that might make you feel like you might not want to. Seeing the optimism that you have always had immediately made me feel more hopeful for the outcome of my future and the future of the world we all live in. It didn’t stop there, though. During my time catching up to the history of TWICE, I have gotten the honor of seeing you perform on multiple different stages and in multiple different settings. I want to first comment on how stunning, stellar, and captivating your dancing is. Every time that I see you dance, I am reminded of what true passion and hard work is. Every movement that you make is perfect, and you leave every stage having put on a show even better than the last. Overall, you are an indescribably professional and proud performer both on and off the stage. However, perhaps your greatest charm lies within your voice. The first time that I ever heard you sing, I was completely taken aback, and even after getting acquainted to it, I am still surprised as if I am hearing it for the first time to this day. Your voice is encompassed of so much emotion, power, but delicacy and sweetness as well. It is so unique and it shines no matter what song you sing. Your voice is so versatile and you can effortlessly sing anything and everything you want. It’s no doubt that both your members and of course, ONCE, recognize your voice as one of the greatest, and you bring so much to TWICE and music overall. We are so lucky that you are spending your time making music and sharing with people your outstanding musicality. You have so much to offer and can do so much with your platform. You surprise us every single day with something new and exciting using the gift of music that you were born with; and you are changing so many peoples’ lives because of it. On top of your incredible performing ability, I have also fallen in love with your goofy and sincere personality. I have been fortunate enough to get to know each of you all personally, and I see a lot of myself in you. I love how eagerly you tease your members and always have a good time with them no matter where you are. I know that you are one of the reasons that they are always able to cheer up and have fun no matter what happens to them. You are so funny and always make TWICE and ONCE burst into laughter with your natural humor and wittiness. On the other hand, I love how open and honest that you are with your ONCE. I feel so close to you because of how much you have been willing to open up to ONCE and your members. I know it can’t always be easy sharing everything that you are feeling or have gone through, but you spoil us anyway by inviting us into your heart and being so genuine with us. There is so much respect that exists for you being as humble as you are in a world that tries to take that away from you. I am now part of a group of people that love more honestly than they thought they ever could, and it is all because of you. You have opened the hearts and minds of so many people and encouraged them to lean on the people they love when they need it most. As I said before, though this year has been taxing in more ways than one can count, I feel like I have learned a lot about making the most of what I have, and I owe a great deal of that to you. I am honored to have somebody so lovely as a role model. However, I am just one person, and I know that there are millions of people everywhere that feel just as I do. I know that your members love you and value you as a part of the group. On top of this, they cherish you as a best friend and a sister that was present and will be present for some of the most precious moments of their life. You make them laugh, cheer them up, and share their pain with them which is all that you can ask from another person. ONCE also have a lot to thank you for and praise you for. You are someone who has brought a group of different people together and teach them to love unconditionally every single day. We thank you every day for showing us so much spirit and hope. I know you have gone through a lot, both as an individual and with your group as well. I know you worked hard to get to where you are now, and I am so proud of you for persevering through all of your obstacles to fight another day. Jeongyeon, even though I haven’t been a ONCE from the very beginning, I can say that I am so proud of you for being the person that you are today. I know I owe my gratitude to your family and parents who raised you and no doubt helped paved the way for your innate success. They watch you with the most pride and praise and love you more than anybody else in this world. I know that they always have you in their hearts, and you have them in yours. ONCE and TWICE will always consider you and have you to thank for the positive impact that you have had on so many lives, on music, and on the world overall. I want to take this opportunity to say that I hope that this birthday shows you the same love and graciousness that you show us every day. Chaeyoung. I really have never seen an idol do what you’ve done before, and this is a huge reason why you grabbed my attention immediately. I want to first start by addressing your musicality. I love your voice when you rap, because it is so powerful and light at the same time. The contrast between the daintiness and delicacy of your voice and the lyrics that you rap is simply astonishing. You possess so much individuality in this sense. You bring a new sound to every Twice track with your fresh raps and the different ways in which you can fluctuate your voice. Similarly to your raps, your singing voice is so soft and pure. I love that you don’t over-exert your voice, and it sounds so natural when you sing. You are so genuine and heartfelt; and it makes us feel like we are getting to listen to what you’re feeling. I can see you getting lost in the music when you sing, and the stories that you tell to us through your voice are so believable. Your voice, as a whole, is limitless; and you’ve increasingly become one of the most fluid and diverse vocalists to share music. On top of all of all of this, it is impossible to take our eyes off of you when you dance because you move with such swiftness and technique. You dance with such personal expression and it allows you to present yourself artistically to your Once in your own way. You treat each move delicately and tenderly, and represent each concept impressionably with your authentic style. You give just the right amount of emphasis on each movement and highlight the peak of each choreography. You demonstrate what distinguishes Twice’s choreographies from that of other groups, and it is so enlightening getting to see you personalize this beloved art form. You are one of the most talented and refreshing artist who have ever come to be. You go where others have not gone, and because of this, we’re getting a new sound and vision that the world has never gotten before. Given the way they carry themselves today, it can be said that they might not be where they are today if they had never met you. You’ve given them the greatest love possible and been the best person they could have met to help them grow. You are somebody who they can always thank for being there for some of the greatest memories of their lives. Thank you for changing their lives in the best of ways. Your Once are also fortunate enough to hold a very sacred part of your heart. I love how you open up your world to your Once and invite them into your everyday lifestyle. The activities that you engage in could be kept private or done by yourself, but you include your Once in these events very often. I believe that you strive to give us a piece of you in any way that you can so that we do feel like we are always with you. I also feel like you trust your Once enough to completely be yourself around them. I feel like that you are always your most artistic and creative when you are around your Once, and you really seem to get a lot of motivation from us as well. For instance, your fashion sense is one of the most innovative that I’ve ever seen. You dress yourself up in a way that is completely different from all else around you, and I believe that you gain enough confidence to express yourself around those who love you the most. On behalf of all of your loved ones, I want to state just how proud we are of you for making it past all of these hardships. It takes an undeniable amount of strength and a lot of resilience to make it past all that you have. It is impressive enough to come out on the other side, but you triumph over these struggles and learn from them as well. Nayeon. I have been a K-Pop fan for almost an entire decade and I surprisingly didn’t even know about Twice until three years ago. I didn’t know the group even existed despite being a fan of K-Pop, and despite the fact that Twice is a very well-known and recognized group globally. If my neighbor hadn’t shown me the music video for ‘Fancy’ one day, I might still not know about the group until this day. I didn’t support Twice right away because I knew nothing about the group, but all I did know is that I liked you from the moment I first saw the music video. Something about your smooth voice, other-worldly visuals, and captivating gaze had me mesmerized by you at the first glance. Since that was the first and only video I had seen of Twice at that time, you were the only aspect of the video that I could remember, but you stuck with me. Your presence lingered in my head and I couldn’t stop thinking about how awe-struck I was at the first sight of you. Some months later, I decided to return to the video, and after I realized how much I loved it, it’s been history ever since. Now, I am a dedicated Once, and have learned so much about the group and the music that I can’t believe I wasn’t a Once before. During the year that I took to know you, I realized that you stood out to me for a reason. Going through Twice’s discography, I have been able to understand why you caught my eye before anyone else all those years ago. I love all of the members, but your presence was unlike, and is unlike anything that I’ve ever seen before. I’ve never heard such a shimmering, stunning, and enticing voice like yours before. I have never seen such powerful, energetic, and expressionistic dancing before I saw you. I have never seen such dedication and appreciation to be on stage, dancing and singing with you beloved members before you. You are just so beautiful, I can’t help but watch you fly across the stage with such hard work and effort evident behind your performance. I have spent every moment since I first discovered you getting to know you and experience what you’ve done during your long time as idol. I know you have gone through so much, and words don’t even come close to identifying the fear and worry you might have sometimes felt during your darkest times. I wish I was a Once at that time to be able to help you through them, but I know you had your members and millions of other loving Once to help you through it.
