My uncle has one with a Schmidt tuning catback. Sounds very similiar. Very deep and voluminous, a tad angry and souvereign. Good sounding V8. My 535i back then did sound similiar with the modified stock exhaust.

@@nabahmadi5012I was pretty surprised about the performance. It felt more powerful and more sovereign than the 530i and not that much less powerful than the 540i. I was looking for one, but couldn't find a decent one for that price back then. I put in a Bilstein B6 Sport Suspension and it was perfect. Really nice car, miss it. Although I drive Audi, the E39 was the best BMW ever built

you normally need to do a bit of adjustments but it's not much, just cutting off a bit of the diffusor
