Cheoah!!! I never really paid this river too much attention, but it was releasing this last weekend and I heard it was a pretty good one to get on…
And it was! It was absolutely stunning and amazing, and I cannot wait for the next release! This river is for sure on my list of top rivers now! Really thankful that Wade and Matt, along with some other friends, were able to show me down!
Also super stoked to get my new boat, the Waka Goat out there!

Firstly it was nice paddling with you on the middle ocoee at week of rivers. Secondly I didn't quite yet have the skill or the guts to paddle choeah at release level. A group of us paddled middle Tellico that day since they got rain. I did paddle cheoah at ELF level on Friday. It was so interesting seeing how different the river looked in your video vs how I remembered it the day before when I ran it. More good content Jer. Thanks

Man, I've forgotten what water like that looks like. Around me, all you need to run a creek right now is a good pair of water shoes 😂 We haven't had any significant rain in a while, and all the good whitewater runs are super low. I was doing a lazy class 1 paddle a few weeks ago with a friend and a deer ran straight across the river in front of us. It didn't swim, it RAN!

@@JerKayaks Evidently the tears of all us kayakers crying over the low rivers isn't enough to get them running again 😭😭😭 I wish I had gotten into this sport last year. July 2021 was unseasonably cool and rainy, enough so that streams that normally run at a trickle were a raging torrent. Every river was running super high. Aside from rolling practice on a lake, most of my paddling this season has been on the ocean. Not likely that will run low anytime soon. Wouldn't mind the ocean temps being a bit warmer though.

You are becoming a badass my man. The Cheoah is pretty stout at 1300cfs. You have come a long way since I first watched one of your videos. I haven"t done this run in a few years but it is pretty awesome. Great job!

Hmm, I would say that I prefer the outfitting of the rewind over the goat, but the goat isn't uncomfortable either! I can sit hours in both boats without any major issues, which is saying a lot since whitewater boats in general tend to be pretty tight haha! Anyways, thanks for watching! :)

Dude. You rolled that Waka like a champ and paddled that river like a pro. Do you feel more confident and secure in that Waka vs your Rewind on a river like this ?
Thanks! I would say that it definitely is more relaxed - I'm able to focus more on the river and the lines, instead of worrying about my stern getting grabbed. The Goat is also so smooth in the bigger volume water, which makes is a joy to paddle! I think next time I might take the rewind for more play potential, but then again I might take the Goat just for how smooth and clean it runs......not sure yet haha! Anyways, thanks for watching! :)
