Mama Elephant didn't give up until she could lift her baby using her trunk |Incredible mother's love

Majestic elephants have a long struggle to survive in the face of human elephant conflict. Due to increasing population, human have encroached in to forested areas, depriving the elephant their habitat lands and reduce their food availability, causing them a long term starvation. Therefore elephants often tend to visit the human resident areas in search of foods. These journeys often end up with numerous catastrophes. This is such an incident. This elephant trio have visited the village at night in search of food. Unfortunately they have fallen in to an agricultural well in the dark night. It was an agricultural well dug by the poor farmers to irrigate their paddy field. These farmers have marginal existence of living. They don’t have enough capital to build a cement wall around the well. But this opened well has brought danger to these innocent elephants. The villagers woke up with the distressed mourning of the elephant and saw how the innocent victims are trying to come out of the well. Moved with the miserable situation of the elephants, they got together to help them. Wildlife Rescue officers of the department of wildlife conservation also arrived the spot upon hearing about the distressed elephants.
They decided that it is needed to build an inclined path to facilitate the elephants to make their way out of the well. They got the assistance of a backhoe to dig the ground. The driver is doing his job very cautiously not to injure the elephants with the machine. They were able to build an inclined path after about two hours of effort. First the mother elephant was able to climb up through the inclined path.But she is reluctant to leave alone her tender baby in water. She stayed at half way along the well wall and tried to give support for her baby to come out. She extended her trunk towards the baby elephant and tried to pull him out.
Meanwhile the other elephant also tried to climb out. Her effort became success after several attempts. Mother and baby elephant still struggle to survive. See how incredible the mother’s love is? Mother elephant had the chance to save her life easily. She could have move away easily along the inclined path that was dug. But she is ready to sacrifice her life on behalf of her baby. Gathering all the strength in her body she pulled the baby with her trunk. Meanwhile she gave support from her leg to avoid the baby slipping back in to the water. Finally mother’s love won. She was able to pull her baby out. Other elephant is also staying around the well without leaving her fellows. Mother and baby hurriedly move away from the well. They became nervous with the sight of the crowd gathered. Poor elephants didn’t know the people were there to help them. The villagers used fire cracker signaling to guide them towards the forest. Three precious lives that were drowning in a well saved in that way. The villagers that witnessed the incident were amused to see the power of mother’s love. And this incident also proves that mother’s love towards her baby is common in the animal kingdom as well as the human kind.
