Discover more about our planet with the Earth from Space video programme. In this special edition, ESA’s Aeolus mission scientist, Anne Grete Straume, joins us in the cleanroom at Airbus Defence and Space in Toulouse, France. She explains how winds are generated, how they affect our weather, and how Aeolus will measure the wind and how this information will be used to improve weather forecasts and climate models.

Keep up the great videos, ESA.
you are like children who believe in fairy tales
Very interesting and accessible explainations
Thank you brennan.... For explaining "wind" in presence of ESA aeolus spacecraft....
Thank you for the video
Thank, Kelsea,... for another ESA satellite update.
ESA is amazing! I wish other organisations like NASA would have a PR team as good as this
Thank you very much for your kind words, Luke! Our +NASA friends also have a great team 😉
Can we manipulate pressure fronts via sound, and energetically cheap
Cool content!!!
Thank You! Awesome images from the wind around globe. I think in to as a dynamo with magnetics fields and not only convection of heat and particles in the air, i mean those wind images are exactly dynamo magnetic looking. Should be a point to be care.
Interesting ^^
It's really good to see women scientists. Congratulations to all of you womens. You're gaining space in the society (what brings madness for the obsolet machists). Very intelligent the both on the interview, and the explications were very dynamics and easily to get it. #Esa #Astronomy #womensinscience
When i see you my body can't feel any winds
