Both men and women celebrate their birthdays, however, the levels of anticipation towards birthdays among men and women differ significantly. On average, women are more enthusiastic about birthday celebrations than men. The contrast manifests one of the disparities between men and women
Birthdays for men are like a wake-up call for them to scrutinise the state of their lives or assess how far they have gone in attaining their aspirations or ambitions in life. Both men and women are inherently ambitious, nevertheless, on average men are more driven by attaining their aspirations in life than women. That is how it is. Almost every culture in the world has a similar expectation for men, and that is to be financially sound. Being financially sound as a man is the gateway to achieving an infinite number of dreams.
If a man is years behind in attaining his goals in life, the anticipation towards celebrating his birthday would surely be grim because there is little satisfaction in celebrating an unfulfilling life. The birthday is a reminder for him to see whether he has achieved the life goals he projected for himself some years back. That is the reality of things. Women can also have such a disposition towards birthdays, however, it is most daunting on the masculine side. Hence, that accounts for why most men are pretty adamant about celebrating their birthdays. The realities of life harshly check them out.
