Olivia Rodrigo connects with Zane Lowe via FaceTime to discuss how her life and music-making process has developed since the release of "driver's license."     • She never villainized other girls though, on the contrary. Look at Happier for example: "she's so sweet, she's so pretty" and "she's beautiful, she looks kind, she probably gives you butterflies". Or in Jealousy Jealousy where she says "i know their beauty's not my lack". And in other heartbreak songs she never mentions the girl, she's always addressing the guy.

  • What a great conversation between Olivia and Zane. I love how they bounce off each other’s vibes. Zane complimenting Olivia’s work and professionalism even putting his own interpretation on the album title and how Olivia is drawn to something unpolished but she still manages to make it pristine and clean. I love thecway he interviews

  • He’s an incredible interviewer. Do they know each other? He’s very empathetic and seems to have a great relationship with her. I really enjoyed this and learned personal things about Olivia in a way that felt natural and not invasive.

    • He's that good of a Interviewer! I first fully watched one of his interviews when he interviewed Taylor Swift back in 2020 about folklore/evermore and even though it was a 1 hour interview it didn't seem like it. His questions are always great and he really knows how to dig deep into the artist's emotions and pov.

  • It's interesting to hear Olivia draw a few contrasts between New York and L.A., regarding some of her contact experiences. She says its easier to "blend in" in New York, and the conversions are more "no hold barred" and "organic and spontaneous." She seems to like the very direct and unfiltered contact with people. Perhaps, in part, she feels that she has a lot of learning to gain there, and her new home environment will help strengthen her development as a person, and, subsequently, as a writer.
