Oprah Winfrey is expressing regret for being a “steadfast participant” in diet culture. Last year, Winfrey acknowledged that she was taking a weight loss drug. She dropped 40 pounds and quit the board of Weight Watchers. The former TV host says she is still embarrassed about that legendary TV moment when she wheeled out 67 pounds of fat on a little red wagon way back in 1988. Inside Edition’s Jim Moret has more.

So she lied to everybody when she said she didn't use any medication to lose weight.
My mother was nearly 400 lb and was going to die if she didn't diet and lose weight . Every bit of her body including her female reproductive system has been negatively affected by being morbidly obese her entire life ... And you know what I used to help bathe my mother growing up. I would dress her and put her pantyhose on for her scrub her feet for her do her hair for her because she was too fat to reach for herself. Food addiction is a real issue

Dieting is not using a drug 😂 dieting is eating less and healthier. She is just apologizing for her role in a drug focused weight loss culture that she helped make popular. It’s not that deep but the news is being the news
@@jackkenny4194 that's not true...she actually didn't disclose what drug she took upfront. She just kept saying drug induced weight loss. However, she wasn't the spokesperson for GLP-1 type weigh loss as she denied it for too long. People been on to this since before COVID. Just more medialized recently.

I’m all for dieting, especially since it’s important to take care of your health, but you shouldn’t use a medication that is meant for people with another health problem in order to lose weight.

She's just apologizing for her part in killing people over weight for shaming them. It's terrible. I think she should have been honest and kept her weight loss journey a private issue and supported people struggling. Body shaming is terrible! This is a lesson about listening to the recommendations of celebrities. Every time Oprah went on one of her new fad diets, she got paid to promote it! She lost credibility with the public a long time ago.
So trying to lose weight and eat healthy is wrong. Lol
It's only wrong if you do it through dieting, but losing weight through Ozempic is fine I guess (according to Oprah).

Fat shaming is a totally separate issue from why someone is obese or what constitutes a healthy way to change that.
I was once a huge, diehard fan, but her paying pennies to the Color Purple actresses showed her true colors. Then tried to atone for it. Too late. Billionaire too bad you can’t take it with you.

I remember that season, (1988( that reveal, and her Medifast liquid diet in which she used to temporarily lose that weight. Her ultimate goal was to fit into those size 10 Calvin Klein jeans she was wearing when she came out on stage with that 60 lbs of fat in that red wagon. It all came back as quickly as she lost it. I wish she and Gail would just go away.
I'm very much an "eat the rich" sort of person, but you rarely hear billionaires do anything except sing their own praises. Yeah she's full of herself and out of touch. But, doing anything close to admitting making a mistake is more than most of them do.
