After the 11,000th step, I decided to go to the hardware store and buy a new drill bit for $1.50. Thanks for obscuring the end of the thing. Good work.
Too many steps And energy wasted when you can hold the drill bit Free hand with 45;* you can do in 2minutes max.. No value ....try again
The key was sharpening the drill. Did not see it

Right? I was fast forwarding just to see where this thing was going. . . only to have the main thing obscured. What a complete waste of time!

@TheJR1948 ... Yes I paid roughly $80 for mine (new). On the other hand it may be differant if one lives somewhere where things are not yet that advanced. Good idea from scrap materials. Unless you have scrap wood laying around, working with wood in wood shop. It's cheaper and saves time to just go buy a bit sharpener and sharpen all your dull bits in a shorter amount of time and the cost it'll take you to buy the materials and build the jigs.

My dad showed me how to sharpen bits with a DA years ago and after 20 years of doing it I can sharpen one really quick and it will hold edge for a long time
Yes, my dad also showed me how to sharpen the drill on a grindstone. He had got a hand - technique to turn the drill and changing the angle of the drill to the grindstone at the same time while he was turning the drill. Turning the drill and changing the angle in one movement. The drill later was ss sharp as bought new.

Yes.
