11 days. 51 miles on foot. 29,643 vertical feet. That's what it takes for Jason Hairston, Donald Trump Jr., and Brendan Burns to achieve their goals of hunting Stone sheep with Gundahoo River Outfitters in British Columbia. Climbing through visually stunning yet punishingly difficult terrain, Marathon of Dreams celebrates the challenges of hunting the mountain ranges of North America.

    • Explain how this group, Kuiu Hunting and Donald Jr contributed to the conservation and protection of British Columbia Stone Sheep. Donald Jr.'s Old Man signed the bill that allowed hunters to murder bear cubs in their dens in Alaska State, no doubt at the urging of the Junior.......I am sure Junior could have convinced his Old Man NOT to sign it if Junior wanted really to defend bear cubs.

    • @@corbenm418 ----Most of you trophy hunters think you are big real life warriors shooting unarmed animals, using spotting scopes, telescopic sights, and weapons that can kill at 500 yards or more. Now apparently you even like to kill them and even their babies by flushing them out of their dens. Total Little Complete Punks.

    • @@corbenm418 --- I am NOT totally anti-hunting. I am about 50-50. If hunting, even for trophies, is done ethically, responsibly, if conservation of the species and quick kills of the target is foremost, if the meat is eaten / donated, and if it is the "Hunt of a Lifetime" for the hunter with the rules of "fair chase" adhered to as defined by Teddy Roosevelt, then I can accept it. I trek and climb all over Western Canada and some in the USA, I am the first to admit that if I was born in some previous era, I would have to hunt to survive in the wilderness. That said, I do NOT consider the shooting of bear cubs or adult bears in their dens in Alaska to be "hunting" or "sport". I call it blatant animal murder. Simple as that.

    • @@corbenm418 ----And as far as me being a "keyboard warrior", you youngster, people like me through the power of the word have successfully banned the hunting of the Grizzly Bear in British Columbia and Alberta Provinces, Canada. The Grizzly is nearly extinct in the Continental USA when it once roamed from the Mexican border to the Canadian border, from the Mississippi River to the Pacific Ocean. In Western Canada it is threatened, and people like me have no intention on allowing people like you to exterminate it here like you have done in 99% of the Western Continental USA. It took 100 years to eliminate the Grizzly there, it may take 100 years to bring it back, I suggest you hunters put your money and your efforts into bringing it back in some remote areas of the USA Mountain West - which do exist - and getting ranchers and townspeople on your side in the conservation of this species.

    • Thanks for watching! We understand the sentiment, but we believe in showing the events of a hunt, warts and all, and not pretending to be some unattainable standard. We've done the same on other hunts, when our guys haven't made a perfect drop--it'd be dishonest not to show it, as long as it's not promoting recklessness. We appreciate your comments and your support!

Previous films were shot on the A7S, which is better for low-light. We have had a good experience with the SX60 for long-range stuff, and recommend it to anyone shooting film of animals at long ranges.

However, as a veteran sheep hunter, I am sure the late JOC is trembling in his grave and cussing at himself for Romantasizing sheep hunting to such elevated levels where it has now become a rich man's sport. I suggest the viewers to read chapter 13 (The famous head hunters) of JOC's last book "Confessions of a gun writer". Amen

  • is jason using the ultra nx rain gear?

    • He wore Chugach for this trip. It's more durable, and he planned to hike through rain, rather than staying still. UltraNX is durable for being as light as it is, but won't handle a ton of punishment--it's best not to beat that fabric up too much.
