It puts me in a trance every time. He's also a very great teammate. He gets his teammates on the board, too. Sets them up to score. Best of the modern era of the nba.

I think most scouts just ignore a player's mentality and approach to the game, which is completely dumb. Like anyone that followed LaMelo's career understands that this kid evolved every single year since his Chino Hills days, and he's always looking to get better: Chino Hills when they won state title - learns to play winning basketball alongside Zo and Gelo Chino Hills when after Zo declares for draft - learns to become an elite scorer at the high school level Lithuania - Melo does struggle, but it was important he experienced it to understanding he has a lot of work to do to reach the NBA level JBA - learns to dominate scoring at another level after a sudden growth spurt pushed him to 6'6 Spire Academy - works on becoming an elite level playmaker Australian NBL - learns to play at a top tier professional level pace and cut out most of his antics when he played with lesser competition NBA year 1 - adapting to the league, offensive game is easier than previous years because of NBA spacing NBA year 2 - Playing with a lot more aggression, looking for his shot regularly, and improving his shooting mechanics Melo reminds me so much of players like Kobe who have this constantly inquisitive mind that will also motivate them to get better at every level.

Unlike Lonzo when he came in, LaMelo always has a consistent release point at a more textbook angle than Zo. While he isn't capable of getting a stable gathera shot fast enough to shoot off the dribble (yet) I've always considered his shooting form a non issue. His ability to break down defenders and create space allows him time to shoot, and he's a modest DEEP deep threat option. Even when he was barely 6' tall, he had a soft touch on his release. His biggest advantage was his confidence, that he can make whatever shot he takes. Zo lacked that until this past season

Lamelo has gone his whole life being smaller than everyone so the way he’s used to playing translates perfectly to the nba but now he’s taller and faster than most players in his position. His freshman year of HS might have been the best thing to ever happen to him

Damn time goes by so fast. The first time i watched the Ball Brothers play was back in 2016 when Lonzo was bound to college Ball and Lamelo was a 5’8 14 year old. Now here we are in 2022, Lonzo on the Pelicans and Lamelo now 6’8 also in the nba on the Hornets

Lamelo has gone his whole life being smaller than everyone so the way he’s used to playing translates perfectly to the nba but now he’s taller and faster than most players in his position. His freshman year of HS might have been the best thing to ever happen to him
