I just found it quite interesting a Muslim narrating and interviewing a witch

Witch craft isn't a religion it's a practice ....
louis portalatin sorry old son, it is not a "practice" , it is a joke. Harry Potter is is just Hollowwood.
louis portalatin
louis portalatin well that's true. There are many witches who don't choose to follow a specific religion. But there are also religions that include the use of the craft so witchcraft isn't a religion, but it is used in different religions or new religious movements.
I agree & respect your response.
louis portalatin wicca is
You don't become a witch... you just realize you've been one all along.... :)
Haha I love this comment
I feel so much more like “myself” since I’ve realized that energy is something you can positively manipulate, and that I am, indeed, a witch!
That sounds a little hokey, you must admit. Oh wait, I just now realized I’m a witch, I’ve been one all along.
No, you're trying to compensate existential dread due to a lack of purpose of life with the attempt to gain power over things you don't have power over by "realizing" that you're a "witch". Don't fool yourself. Or do, if it helps you, because it doesn't matter.
what bullshit are you talking?
I don't think some people truly understand this. Witches are not evil. As a Wiccan Witch, I follow the Three Fold Rule which is similar to the idea of karma, and another rule which is "If you harm none, do as ye will". Which means do anything your heart desires as long as you are harming no one. We don't worship Satan or Lucifer, the Christians believe in the them, we do not. We don't worship them because we don't believe in them! Blessed Be.
FlashFox_420 as a practicing Wiccan, I agree. We don't cast spells for evil, wish bad luck, look like green-skinned hags and fly in broomsticks.
I hate it when we get stereotyped to those tv witches it just makes me mad
FlashFox_420 true because we see it in movies 🎥 and in story books 📚
Bless it be
i agree. blessed be fellow wiccan.
I think they should have been a little bit more specific in this video... Wicca is a religion, witchcraft is a practice... witches don't worship the devil because they don't believe in the devil.... the idea of a devil is strictly a Christian belief... Wiccans live by those two rules, witches who practice witchcraft make up their own rules, but some do abide by the threefold law.... I feel like this video was too short and cut too much for this to be a true representation of what a witch is.
Damn its barely 3mins! How much could she have said.
I agree wholeheartedly with you.
Some witches certainly DO worship or use the devil as a deity to honour
@@lalunaraggio31 That's the point!

It made me melt into tears when she said that at some point you have to stand up for who YOU are." I'm a witch, too. It really is healing to realize that is my source of strength, is to stand because it has always been who I am. My mother hated me for how perceptive I was.
"Probably because I was going to grow up to be a feminist" what does that have to do with it?
Mary M : Wicca as a religion puts a lot of emphasis on worshipping and revering the feminine in a way that our current patriarchal society does not. Where in modern western society women are still underpaid for the same work, hypersexualized and objectified, and not taken seriously, in Wicca femininity and womanhood is seen as powerful and beautiful on par with masculinity. So a lot of wiccans are also feminist because the ideals of the religion closely align with those of feminism.
Rosalie Evans Woman 👏 Are 👏 Not 👏 Paid 👏 Less 👏 Than 👏 Men 👏 It has been illegal to pay woman less for ages now.
Not true. Women, as well as other minorities, are consistently paid less than men for the same jobs. While there is not an explicit difference in wage based on gender (since the Equal Pay Act was passed), there is still obvious discrimination. This is called the "gender pay gap." From Business Insider: "Today, on average, a woman earns 79 cents for every dollar a man earns, and women’s median annual earnings are $10,800 less than men’s, according to a report released by the Senate Joint Economic Committee Democratic Staff last April."
Where do you live •DivaGina•? That's awesome... i mean, i want to work there because where i do... i get pay less.
Women get paid less because they don't spend as much time at work than men do at some jobs.

This lady doesn't know her terminology. Wicca is not a new age term, it's a new age religion. Wiccans believe in Deities, which is what separates them from other Witches. Most of the REAL Witches that I've spoken to (keyword REAL, not someone going through a phase or doing it because it's trendy or they want to be edgy) don't worship the devil, but there are some that do, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Also, I don't see why feminism was brought into this.. She says something about being a feminist, then "Wow, I'm a Witch!" No. Being a feminist does not make you a Witch, and you don't have to be a feminist in order to be a Witch. Witchcraft doesn't equal religion, it's literally what the name says. It's a Witches craft. It's a PRACTICE. You can include religion into your practice, yes, but Witchcraft itself is not a religion. This woman really should have learned a bit more about what she saying before she said it. I have no doubt that she knows a lot about the tools used in the practice, as it seems as though she has a store with many useful things, but when it comes to terms and definitions, she's quite a bit lost.
People keep saying its a craft, pray tell, what exactly that witches DO?
why is there nothing wrong with worshiping the devil, morally? Isn't he a bad being that kills and rapes? I'm asking cause I don't know anything about (any kinds of) religion and I'm just trying to understand.
@@scoob1670 Luciferian Satanists - those who worship Lucifer as a literal entity - believe that he's a Prometheus like figure who brings enlightenment and freedom to humanity, as opposed to the oppression and self-denial that has historically been promoted by Christianity. I am not a Satanist, but that's basically their viewpoint. They don't advocate undue violence or dishonesty.
@@kenhollis6197 Oppression promoted by Christianity? Maybe fake Christians, but certainly not true believers who are diligent followers of Jesus who promote love and forgiveness. Remember there are fake Christians everywhere like the ones who supported the Iraq war, who give true Christians a bad name. They are "false flags"" Christians .
Being a "witch" in salem is like having a rainbow shirt at a pride parade.
No it isn't 😇 Christianity and Judaism believes in more than one god. Being a "witch" is polytheism, depending on other than God to fulfill mundane needs. Therefore being a "witch" is similar to believing in more than one God, similar to Christianity and Judaism. And as mentioned in Islam "Polytheism" is one of the heights form of sin. So no have a rainbow shirt at a pride parade, as comparison to worshipping random ones
As a queer witch, I find this idea intriguing, though keep in mind that not everyone persecuted in Salem was a witch.
Lol! I had the same realization as her about being a witch. One day I realized that I'd been practicing chaos magic for almost half my life, after researching it, and I was so shocked because it was never something I set out to do. What I was doing made sense to me, and it turned out that what I was doing was chaos magic.
what were you doing to practice chaos magic?
You’re not a witch. You’re insane
The hostess is quite beautiful and seems well spoken.
Hello there
Why wouldn't see be well spoken?
@@IsanG08 - Does there need to be a reason I think she is well spoken?
1. Do it by will 2. Harm none ❤️
do it thou will....not by will lol
No mention of traditional witches though, we don't have to adhere to a 'harm none' code. Also many witches DO believe in a devil. It irritates me when some wiccan witches try to speak for all witches, please don't.
She's so right, sometimes we have to stand up for who we are and stand for what we belive in.
I also want to add that while people feel the witch isn’t well spoken in this that witchcraft is in part what it is because of its versatility to adapt to the various beliefs, practices, and lifestyles out there. I personally think it was brave of her to stand up and share her beliefs so publicly and for that alone she has my respect.
You know, there are a lot of witches (and wizards) who blend in very well with the general population. I'm a natural born wizard with a strong interest in herbalism. If you saw me in the grocery store, you wouldn't be able to tell unless you were sensitive to my energy (which some people claim to be a bit overpowering). Apparently, I have a stare that cuts right through you and sees into your soul. Not sure, just what people tell me. The world is a very different place for me compared to most people. I sense many things. In the beginning, I thought everyone was able to sense the things I sensed, but apparently not. With time, I began to suspect I was maybe crazy or something, so I started testing myself. Time and again the information I obtained was correct often enough to not be change alone. I seem to be able to heal and protect people. I have a knack for "cleansing" homes and items. I don't perform "rituals". I don't need to. I don't wear odd clothing or charms or anything. I do carry around a special bag though with some supplies, but that is more to be prepared. Better to be prepared and not need it than need it and not be prepared. I don't go around shouting from the rooftops that I'm a wizard, but I'm not afraid to admit it. There are a lot of well-meaning witches and wizards out there, but some make me cringe. I understand the rituals and spells, but you can train yourself to perform magick without them. All you really need are basic supplies. Water, salt, some crystals, some herbs, some oils, and yourself. All I need to cleanse a home is myself and salt. All I need to cleanse an item is myself, salt, and/or water. If you're sick and I'm able to help, all I really need is myself, but herbs do help. You don't really need many supplies. You do need knowledge and experience. In about five to ten years I will begin my search for an apprentice to pass on my knowledge and skill. For now, it's too early in my opinion. There is still much for me to learn. Plus, I will let the apprentice come into my life so that the right person comes along. Normally, this would be passed down through a family, but I come from a Christian family and I have no kids. It's unlikely I will have any kids. So, I will be passing the tradition on through someone not related to me more than likely.
this is so cool that you want to pass everything on to one unique person.
That’s wonderful. There are many people who want to learn.
As a witch of autism and ADHD, herbalism is a safer option than pills and electroshock. #stoptheshock
You may be shocked but the two judges who overturned the electroshock ban were Christians, no offense. That is why I turned away from Christianity.

I wish I could live in Salem! My sister, mother I visited that October and fell in love with all of Massachusetts but Salem was by far our favorite!
Hello
I love so much witch community. Maybe because I am a part of it , because I feel free Blessed Be
Same here! Blessed be!
Just a reminder since they're doing a lot of this interview with the backdrop of the Salem witch trials, that no one involved in those trials was a witch. I think it's a nice interview but that's somewhat unclear with them discussing what witches represented in those times while in the memorial for the victims.
I practice witchcraft my mother didn’t pass it down to me but I would love to pass it down to my children
I really love how she said, "so...I am a witch."
ya, and there's this other part where she says "I'm a witch"
"Grow up to be a feminist" that's not an occupation
You know what she meant❤
Well obviously, that’s not what she meant. Good straw man I though!
Not all feminists grow up to be witches, and I'm also a male witch. She speaks as if shes speaking for All witches, some of us are traditional witches, and DONT adhere to the harm none code, also some of us do believe in a devil, i just wish that some of these wiccans would stop trying to speak for all of us.
I always visit Artemisia Botanicals when I’m in Salem, one of my favorite shops in that are. They have lots of great herbs for teas and other cool things.
Sounds like feminist Nsxi shtt
I am Witch/Warlock myself! I have been practicing Witchcraft for almost two years, and it is a wonderful practice! (I am serious, I am actually Wiccan)
I'm surprised, as a witch myself I have done the "year and a day" practice, but I am surprised you are accepting of the term "warlock" as witches find it an offensive term. They were the ones who gave witchcraft a bad name.
Nate Suzuya I have been practicing the Craft for a little over 30 years. Mommy dearest was a High Priestess and initiated me into her coven at age 14. Prior to my initiation I attended vast majority of all the coven workings anyway just because mom didn't want to have to find a babysitter while she was in Circle. My mom crossed over 5yrs ago but was very angry that I do not have my own coven or part of someone else's coven...who has time for all that??? Not me ! I prefer to be a witch without a coven
Naya Cattrelle No. Witch is s gender neutral term and applies to “cunning folk.” Warlock, at its root, means “oath breaker” and is a witch, male or female, who betrays their coven.
Carmen actually I have been a practicing witch for 31yrs and the original Scandinavian/Icelandic meaning of "warlock" is spirit caller. So by that definition ALL witches are warlocks
Nate Suzuya kiddo then can u help me find a real vampire then ?
My gradmas friend was a witch and she helped people.

They need a longer video on this. Great info for such a small amount of time.
why? all that ugly old hag says is "I'm a witch". How many more times do you need to hear her repeat it?
But mostly incorrect, not all witches adhere to the wiccan code, 'harm none do as ye will' Also traditional witches do believe in a devil, and can use baneful magick.
She’s me when she said “ omg ,I’m a witch how did that happen ?”
It's a very complicated question, what it all is and means. I think she expressed her personal experience wonderfully.

...sooo...what exactly got "debunked" here...? I love it that over 3 months later I'm still getting explanations. Hilarious.
You guys are just being ignorant.
Kaye Velasco- REALLY??? I ask a Simple POLITE question. FUCK YOU.
Basically, the stereotypes were debunked. No, we don't eat children, we don't worship the devil (those are Satanists), and most of us live by the "Do no harm" rule. (I say most because others live by "Do no harm but take no shit.")
pantslizard Now you're n0t polite.
pantslizard It's just that your question seems ignorant to me. (Sorry)
What she failed to mention and simply explain is that most of the mythological stereotypes in regards to "Witches" all mostly came from both Catholic and Protestant dogma during both of their eras of hysteria in the 16th & 17th Century as part of a fear mongering agenda. Most of the things associated with the mainstream "Witch" such as the 'worts', 'brooms', 'black cats','cauldrons', "pointed hats" inspired and came from situational incidents involving local village outcasts and loners that occurred in Colonial America and Europe prior where Christians of the two top Church denominations insanely perceived and associated those things with someone supposedly practicing Witchcraft, or them being a so called gateway to it. It's pretty much the same case when crazy psychological disturbed Christian televanglists during the Satanic Panic (Another Witch Hunt) of the 1980's tried to link dungeons and dragons with Satanism which was proven not to be true. The "wort" pertained to the vintage antisocial hag that had loads of birthmarks and worts that seperated herself from the rest of the village (which was considered abnormal to the Puritans) and as a result was accused of being a Witch because she didn't look like everyone else. The black cat pertains to those who preferred animals too much over people (which was considered abnormal then), so therefore they were considered a "Witch". The broom and cauldron came from uncredible testimonies of different cases where people claimed to have supposedly seen the accused "fly on a broomstick and cook children in the cauldron" despite there being little to no evidence to support these claims. The sad thing about all of this was that most of the accused in places such as Salem weren't actual witches. In retrospect, the term "Witch" was a very loose term used by Christians that described anyone who didn't fully live by the theocratic religous system that was in control at the time. By 17th Century standards, I would be considered a "Witch" just by having natural birthmark and enjoying sexual intercourse without having to deal with the complications of marriage. Not to say actual Witchcraft didn't exist then because it did, but it was very rare. As a Satanist (or an Atheist in a Halloween costume as some descibe us as) I think a practices such as Witchcraft, Wicca, and any other modern Neo-Pagan religions or belief system are just as equally hogwash as Christianity or any of the Abrahamic mainstream religions, but I've grown to respect the history and heritage of Pagan traditions considering I've never personally had a Pagan, Wiccan, or a Witch make negative remarks towards me because my philosophy or beliefs weren't mutual with theirs, whereas with Christians (Both Catholic & Protestant) I have more times than I care to admit.

I love how even after Christians watch this, they still don't change, even though all their arguements are proved irrational.
Well it's because they see it as an attempted retcon or revision. Remember that there are ALSO people who claim to be real-life vampires. I've been studying the occult, magick, mysticism, and historical witchcraft; now practicing for some 30 years now. I'm in touch with multiple lines of hereditary or traditional witches the world over. The UK and the US. France. Italy. Romania. South America. Their motives are as vast and varying as all peoples are. Whom or what they worship is equally as varied. Some focus on benevolence and our capability to help ourselves. Others of us study malevolence and acknowledge everyone's capability for malice. Both are valid, so I practice both with proper measure. Ideally more of the former, but reality takes its toll. I remember the stereotype of witches when I was little. But it was only in fairy tales. When Harry Potter came out I loved it. To me it showed the witches and wizards to be people like us with similar attitudes and everything. The only thing I don't agree with is that they are born to be witches and wizards. In real life you choose to be a witch just like you choose to be a Christian.
Except with no supernatural powers. Just superstition.
No I was born a witch. When I wasn’t practicing (for a while) witchcraft still happened to me every day everything that made me a witch still worked without me trying but I just tried to ignore it! But found I couldn’t so returned to my practice a few years later and my calm happiness returned and my craft just slipped back into place all be it a bit rusty. I was born to 2 witches but of course you don’t have to be born into it to become a witch and being born into it doesn’t make you more special or gifted than any person picking up the craft

The problem with most humans is they havnt bothered to try or look for themselves to see wether something is real or not most people just get their advice from others and if they say they dont believe it the person asking automatically rejects it and never bothers to look into it then there are those who just dont want to know at all. Makes me wonder what is wrong with the average person nowdays that dont bother trying or doing anything but what they are told to do. Party 🎉 eat sleep drinking drugs work sex and repeat. Its sadly most humans routine on a daily basis. They dont know the true power they hold within and never want to know or believe its true unless its said on the media or by a "professional" then when real witches come out people act shocked 😲 lol to the average person when they realize witches are real its like they saw a real life unicorn lol
Z Luv could not have said it any better :3
Bro same when people say witches don't exist I just wanna scream but I can't reveal that I'm a witch yet
@D Ouellette witches (unless they want to) have nothing to do with satan
Witches/Wiccans, whatever else you want to refer us as, "Harm no one, do as we will," while the Warlock (Oath Breaker) causes harm. A male witch/Wiccan is just that. A former Witch/Wiccan is a Warlock (male or female). I just wanted to add a little info for those who don't know the difference. We do not believe in Satan; that is a Christian belief.
Love your wisdom im 4 u
If I remember correctly the term warlock came around the times of the Spanish Inquisition when the inquisitors would torture witches to reveal their covens and the ones who broke were labelled as warlocks (as you say Oath Breaker). At first when I was teaching myself about it when I was young I would say that I am a warlock very proudly because I didn’t really have anything to guide me and tell me that’s wrong. It wasn’t until I dug more into the term that I found what it really meant so yeah history lesson of how the term came to be.
I was always taught that warlock meant "traitor of the coven" and that as well.

"We are an Earth-based religion. Very much like Native Americans." Because being Native American is a religion. Oh, wait. Maybe she meant "like the religion of Native Americans." Because all Native Americans have the same religion. Oh, wait. Maybe she meant "like the religions of most Native Americans." Because most Native Americans are Christian, which is an Earth-based relig-- Oh, wait. Maybe she meant "like the religions of most pre-Columbian Native Americans." OK. Got it now.

@@jsinmcc92 You mean she's ignorant.
@@user-qs8cw8pi7o They seem to be very polite here while proving a point at the same time so you insinuating that they are not kind means nothing.

"In fact, from antiquity to the present, various beliefs and behavior patterns have been characterized as superstitious. We know that the word superstition comes from the Latin term "superstitio", although its exact translation is disputed. There is currently no consensus among scholars about its original meaning. But it seems that the Latin term is up to some extent synonymic to the ancient Greek term "desidaimonia". Both terms, Latin, superstidio, and Greek, desidaimonia, implied a sort of excessive fear of numinous powers, and they were also used to refer to the beliefs and practices of alien religions. Be as it may, the Latin term was adopted by the Romance languages and English during medieval times and was used to designate those beliefs and rituals not approved by the official theological hierarchy and thus, considered irrational and untrue. During the most part of the Middle Ages the vision that prevailed was that of Saint Augustine, which he developed in his famous work The City of God. This Father of the Church understood superstition not only as an illicit cult to the true God, but also as the cult given to the false gods from the ancient pagan religion. So, for many centuries, the term superstition was, in some way, a synonym for paganism. When it was used by Christian authors, it usually referred to the reliance on amulets, on dreams and visions, on charms, fortunetelling, sorcery, necromancy, prodigies, portents, soothsaying, spells and so on. Many of these were, in fact, survivals of pagan beliefs and rites and the clergy condemned them as such. A superstitious mind was generally ascribed to uneducated laypeople, especially the country folk, or rustics. But often, the same so-called superstitions existed among the upper classes as well. In that sense, we could define medieval superstition as a set of beliefs and rites co-existing with, but disapproved of, by the official religion. In fact, along history, the term superstition has been used by many social groups to refer to any sort of beliefs in a pejorative way. The specific content of this invariably pejorative term depends only on the beliefs of the definers and their own cultural framework. So, right-thinking Romans, for example, qualified Christianity as superstitious, while Christians expressed the same opinion about Judaism or pagan religion. During early modern times, reformed theologians denounced many aspects of Catholic faith and piety as superstitious in a similar way as some current day Western scientists define as superstitious a wide range of beliefs which are not sanctioned by modern science. “with an *aCTUAL WITCH!* ” sweety, we are everywhere and just normal people usually 😂 we aren’t a myth
Did she literally just say Native Americans are a religion like Wicca? 😂
"We are an earth based religion. Very much like the Native Americans. " So no she didn't literally say that. Wicca, Paganism, witchcraft, and many Native American traditional beliefs are earth based religions. Meaning that as a human living on earth at this point in our journey, most feel the earth is our Mother, the moon and Sun and stars and sky, the water and all the natural elements, the creatures, other humans are born of this earth and are sacred. Their is a love and respect for every living thing and those things likes mountains and rocks that most don't think of as living. Learning what your place is in the world and how to walk in harmony in this world allow a one to two into other worldly things, visions, beings, entities, energies etc. It's ok to draw parallels between different practices and faiths. It's also ok to laugh about things you don't understand yet. It's easier to misunderstand than to try to understand and sometimes that's just where you are today. Be blessed love 💘.
I'm a male witch, and although i do respect the wiccan beliefs, im not a wiccan witch, more along the lines of traditional really. It irritates me when some wiccans try to speak for ALL witches by saying that we adhere to the 'harm none' beliefs, it's just not so. Some of us can use baneful magick if we choose to, and some of us DO believe in a devil. Your new philosophy of 'Harm none but take no sh!t' is more realistic.
Idk why I just feel like she memorized all of this
Nah, she's likely spent years of her life having to explain the same things over and over again, bc everyone asks witches the same questions. She's probably sick of always having to explain herself.
I don't pretend to understand witches but I like this lady.
feminist admits she is a witch. Oh the irony. this made my day
Jack Grotelueschen how is that ironic?
its a joke.
Well, where is the logic? because most of the witches are actually female, wouldn'i it be dumb if they weren't empowering their own kind?
She lost me when she started talking about native practice. Even though witchcraft at its core is earth based talking the way she is 5 years later wouldn't sound very good.
This makes me want to go back to the craft. Unfortunately it brought me nighmares. I know the Wiccan Rede, The Magic Circle, The Grimoire, the wands, the Waning moon and Waxing and how to perform them. These things are very fascinating but it somehow brought me to times where I felt the darkest part of my life.
Jesus loves you and he never wants you to be sad. He can lift you out of the darkness in your life. I will pray for you, love.
Where you cleaning your home with sage or taking salt baths? I haven’t had any issues.
im so happy that there are more and more people opening up about witchcraft and branched pagan religions such as wicca. I am also a witch and since becoming a witch ive never felt more happy with myself :) happy halloween
Lots of Europeans talk about paganism. Mostly Nazis though.
@@ViolentFEAR There are a lot of misconceptions about Nazis. Liberals talked about how all Nazis were Christians to smear conservatives when in fact Nazis had different religions. Some were actually Jews who threw away their faith just to keep their sorry skin like George Soros. Yes, there was also a Christian Conservative Party in Germany, but they quickly broke apart as they turned in their Jewish neighbors. Yes, maybe there was a little bit of Paganism as well. But it didn't matter which religion a Nazi was from, they all worshipped Shitler.
"Do what thou will" is the first rule of the satanic bible🤔
:)
Actually she worded the Rede differently. It goes “if it harm none, do what ye will” So if you aren’t hurting anyone, do forth as you may.
Arroyyaa!!
a witch without a Devil🤔It is like a Pizza without Chees
syed abdul pizza was originally created with cheese and the devil is a Christian concept. Christian can keep it!
That's not always true. There are good magic people too.
I know shit cray lmao😂😂😂
Mizz FlaireBeauty WTF the devil is the world's concept. Satan and Lucifer are Catholic
Harley Quinn actually Satan and the devil only exist in the Christian faith. I'm pagan and I don't believe in any of that bullshit, nor the idea of hell.
Thanks alot sir I’m forever grateful *Doctor Dashira* my wife is back home with the kids and she promised never to leave again, thank the gods I checked that your Facebook page .

Is it possible to be a witch and a wiccan?
team melanie marnetez Yes. Wicca is a religion, being a Witch means you do Witchcraft. If you include your Wiccan beliefs into your craft, then that makes you a Wiccan Witch.
