  • I have even more respect for J.K. Rowling now than I did falling in love with her work as a kid 15 years ago. Self-made, full of conviction, creativity and a true advocate for women and the LGB community. Great lady.

    • @Mesophyl This can never be a fact. It is your opinion. You think she isn't humble. Other people think she (still) is. That she made statements about something is a fact. What you think about it is an opinion. And how you deal with it is your own problem.

  • With the latest controversy and criticism about her opinions on gender it is easy to forget the tremendous work she has done for humanity. Not only on her charity but also her contribution to promote reading in times children do not read anymore. Additionally the fantastic imagination is and always will be needed to inspire people.

  • I love JK Rowling she is my inspiration for starting to write when I was only 7 and I had a publisher but my parents never pushed it forward. Now that I’m 22 and have finally beat my depression and made different types of books over the years I am finally going to publish them ❤️ I don’t need to be rich or famous but I need for the books I write to connect with the readers I’ve always had a natural God-given talent and truly have loved her books 🌻. She is amazing and it’s refreshing to know she started this at 25. I’m 22 so this makes me feel like I am not too late due to the things I’ve been through in life which some of which inspired my books I’m writing. Once I hire an editor and illustrator I will send it to a publishing company. My uncle already has a contract with a business. It runs in our family but one day I would like to write a book with JK Rowling I’m gonna succeed just watch ☝🏻🌸🥰

I've seen the movies (our son is a Potter fan), and I'm aware of all the furor over the trans issue. It's terrible that her three young stars have thrown her under the bus while knuckling under to PC tyranny. And all for saying that sex is real and that we can, in fact, EASILY define "woman". The new Supreme Court justice can't, but God bless JKR. I honor her for speaking truth.

Let's sing a happy song, may be a song about Trans Maria? How do we solve a problem like JK? We don't. • @Jane Dough As a fundamentalist christian (Lutheran) I must disagree. The books contain many references to the religious climate of the 17th century, sects such as the Seekers, the Grindletonians, the Muggletonians, Rookwood, Perkins, etc. The crushing of seven seals before the defeat of the evil one, two Bible verses quoted, even a reference to king Hezekiah's seal (the golden snitch, the winged key), an ancient king of Judah. There are also references to occult things like the hand of glory, chess symbolism, serpents, geomancy, the philosopher's stone and grave soaking (Voldemort's resurrection spell on his father's grave), however these things are typically denounced as evil! "[...]the trouble is, humans do have a knack of choosing precisely those things that are worst for them." There's only one instance where an occult reference is presented as uncontroversial, and that is ghosts of Harry's relatives. They are friendly but ultimately have no power and can't assist Harry in any way, in reality they are only Harry's memories of them that he keeps in his heart so he's not even communicating by spiritism. That said, it is important to make the distinction between a book with christian themes and a christian book. I understand the people who won't read it to their kids because the religious references are so obscure and these topics just don't work for Sunday school because kids might misinterpret it as an endorsement of witchcraft.
