The “it wasn’t me, it wasn’t me” was so sad because when X-24 came downstairs Logan already knew what had happened, and he realized that he Charles might have died thinking Logan snapped and killed him, Logan was so worried because he wanted his friend to know that he wouldn’t do that to him
Ryan George um yah thank you for clarifying that cause it's not like we didn't know that 😂
@@joelandrews8554 Don't you just hate when people point out the obvious?
But couldn’t Charles have known that? He is telepathic after all. Or maybe by the time he was stabbed he knew. Either way, I think he knew it wasn’t the real Logan.
not just his friend, his father figure.
Ryan George
The reason Logan froze in place when seeing X-24 walk down the the stairs is because X-24 looks and represents Logan if he became a tool to Weapon X. It’s is darkest part of his past and memories that have come back to haunt him... X-24 literally represents everything Logan feared of becoming
Nah it's cause its a clone of him lmao. It's not that deep. Logan has already been everything that X-24 is, that was his prime.
He didn't expect to see himself. It's that simple.
This is it yo. SOOO many people fail to see the symbolism in this movie. its way more than just a superhero movie
Thats the point my friend!
Thanks for the obvious, Captain Spell Things Out.
That stare down was probably the biggest "WTF is going on" moment in history.
It was one of the few times i felt nervous for Logan too

Why didn't ×24 attack Logan right away?
To this day one of the most depressing films I've watched. To see Charles go from a hopeful leader and teacher managing a vibrant school to a lost old man dying in the bed of a pickup and buried in an unmarked grave in a forest is an absolute fckery. Burns your heart.

“You can’t nurture rage. You simply design it from scratch.” Underrated line
It's interesting, because in the script it reads: "You can't nurture rage. You must simply design it from scratch...like God did." I wish they had never cut that final anecdote. I feel like it really gave us a window into Rice's mind and personal motives; putting his pride and hubris on full display. But from what I can gather from this film as is, they probably didn't want to stray too far into 'over the top evil scientist with a God complex' territory.
“The greatest enemy you’ll face in life will be yourself”
This scene takes that quote to a whole another level.
IMHO, Logan is better than the entire Dark Knight Trilogy. I mean I love TDK but Logan made me care about the characters while in TDK there's no emotional stakes.
@@lickenhuntsman5338 there's a fuck load of emotional stakes in TDK. Harvey Dent. Bruce Wayne, Gordon, Rachel to name a few. The stakes were pretty high and slowly showed how they became corrupted and strayed from their original goal How the hell were the stakes not high?

High Jackman has portrayed wolverine to such legendary levels that at this point only Hugh Jackman is worthy enough to portray a villain equal to wolverine
Hugh Jackman will never be Wolverine. Only true Wolverine Fans know that Wolverine was not a tall roided out model with a wolverine hair cut with a phony mean face like Jackman. @@CedricBassman it's the other way around at the end she accepts him as her father, logan always had a father like affection for her and always tried to protect her
@@darkcrusader. You should watch the Film again mate, because that is just wrong. Where did he ever show any affection towards her, excluding near the end of the Film when he actively comes to rescue her? At the Beginning when they all try to escape his Hideout in Mexico he literally tries to drive off with Charles in the Car, effectively not giving a shit about leaving her until she jumps on the Car. He then proceeds to scold her off almost all the time and is generally unfriendly towards her. He only sees the Weapon X Programm in her at first and i don't know if you know, but he hates what he was under Weapon X so to a extend he hates Laura because her whole existence is based on what he hates about himself. I really don't know where you get the Father like Affection thing and that he tries to always protect her, when he straight up abandoned her on two occasions during the Movie in Favor of protecting/helping his real close friend. Laura even said it herself for Gods sake. Remember when Logan said that all the people he loves die around him and Laura answered something along the lines "well then i'm safe."

...what's even sadder, is that at 2:55 Charles patted the truck fender and said "Our boat...the sunseeker." He knew they were already on their trip to take them somewhere better. It was the last lesson he passed on to one of his X-men.
Omg I didn't realize what he truly meant until now, that's just so heartfelt
I don’t get it, please explain 🙏
@@pathologicaldoubt In the beginning of the movie Logan was trying to earn enough money to buy a boat, and he intended to put to sea and go south with Charles to safer and better climates than the desert, away from those still looking for them. This yacht was called 'The Sunseeker' in the sale brochure, but then everything else happened. At the farm, when Charles was dying, he patted the truck and called it '...the Sunseeker' because HE knew they were already on that trip to somewhere better. Going North, to Canada, to help Laura and the other young mutants.
@@Prander5x5 It's even sadder than that. The boat was so Charles could live the rest of his days on the water without fear his seizures wouldn't kill anybody. Once Charles died, Logan would then shoot himself in the head with the adamantium bullet.

That's the one reason I didn't want to buy it on Blu-ray and that's the biggest reason why it's not the 2nd greatest CBM on my list. The entertainment value isn't there. It's like respecting a war movie like Apocalypse Now versus wanting to watch it over and over.

The heartbreaking part is not Charles death per say, its the fact that he opened his heart and feelings to a murderous clone of the only person left who loved him and cared for him thinking it was him. Logan will never get to know what Charles said and Charles will never get to have a proper good bye with his only friend and family left.

@@theotherguy21 you probably right. We just gotta see. Cuz the multi verse brought us 3 Spidermen and it changed the fates of all the villians involved. We'll just have to see if this also voids Charle's death or it's a variant. Either way this movie is gonna blow our fuckin minds 10x than what No Way Home did.
I really like how they chose to have a "supervillain" who represents Logan's worse inner demon, his more rage-filled animalistic side he's been trying to suppress. What better way than to have Logan fight his own worse self in his final journey? In fact, I actually do love how they chose to use lesser-known villains for this film like Dr. Zander Rice and X-24 (who granted was created for this film), rather than going for a more well-known and popular supervillain, so as to keep with the film's 'character-driven study'. Sometimes proves that your superhero movies doesn't always needs a popular supervillain who wants to take over or destroy the world.
Strangely enough, Logan did have an exact genetic male clone of him in the comics in X-Men Forever 2. In that time period Wolverine was dead and an evil clone of him created by Mister Sinister who was an ally of his Marauders tried killing Kitty Pryde whom in that universe (Earth-161) had one retractable claw on each of her hands.

I wouldn’t really say the DC is “dark” I’d say its more Mature/realistic, for more older viewers
No it’s marvel
Marvel only became the " fun" universe after the Disney acquisition. Growing up Marvel was always the darker of the two because the abstention against killing was never really a part of the characters' code of ethics. No matter how dark Batman is, most of his iterations require him to abstain from killing and cooperate with law enforcement. Most mutants are regarded as outlaws and have their own codes. Some kill, some steal. Some Xmen are former villains. Some Xmen BECOME villains.
