  • For those that want to stain any wood board and still use it for food, a paste-like consistency of instant coffee and water, makes a safe stain (& keeps spiders away). I added instant coffee to paint for a room in my house and didn't see a spider in there for a dozen years. : ) A happy surprise.

  • I have a lamp like that floor lamp….it took a wire base with a big white globe that rested on it….they always break so that is why the globes are very scarce….good luck …..I turned mine into a coat rack because it was so nice and sturdy….think about it…just add three big metal hooks with a round piece of wood in the middle to add hats on….hugs carolyn from Columbus Ga

  • GIRL! My gosh that desk was SO impressive! I love your hardware choice. The thing that thrills me even more is that it's MADE WELL... You will never in a million years find anything made for under a couple of thousand dollars that's made well at this point, and even then (as in the case with McGee & co) the quality will never match up to something made pre 1999. It's right around that time, when internet became so powerful & mass production went into full swing; that everything became crappy despite price tag. Nothing I love to see more than someone doing a better job at the McGee & Co aesthetic & not giving those people your money. For what they charge, you'd think they'd have the conscious to make quality product, but if you look at the reviews (not on their website obviously) there's nothing but disappointed customers who cannot believe what they received vs the price tag. I feel almost guilty saying such negative things about a company, but considering their popularity; the least one should expect is a quality build. Great video, totally inspiring!

  • On the laundry basket you may be able to help secure the wheels with zip ties. On the stained lid, instead of remaking the whole cover, find an acceptable fabric, either a match or a print or solid in colors that you like or maybe a ticking fabric, and cover over the stained part and put a matching strip on the opposite side to make it appear like it is intentional.

  • My favorite diy was the white & gold lazy Susan. It turned out beautiful. Honestly I liked your diy version better than the exspensive name brand items. You done an amazing job. ❤❤❤❤

  • That floor lamp is a torcheire lamp. They use globes that sit down into the lamp. The bulbs are typically sold by specialty dealers. Namely, funeral supplies. There are usually two, as we normally place one at either end of the casket at funeral homes.

  • HI, NICE JOB! Thanks for sharing. Not sure if already mentioned, but using clear or white zip ties to secure the wheels to the bottom of your wicker laundry hamper could help secure it. :) Thanks for your cool ideas! ❤

  • Hi from Sydney, you could maybe tea stain, or proper fabric stain the laundry basket liner to disguise the stain.

  • Removing tough stains I use Lestoil. Pour it on the fabric let it soak for 10 min then wash on regular cycle.

  • For the laundry basket I would use a natural timber lid. That would make it look more solid and high end I think.

  • That's a tri-light socket. 50-100-150 watt. They're very nice because the bulbs are so big, and at 150 watts most of the room can be lit from the one lamp. The shade is usually opal glass with knobs and it sits deep down in the socket which makes it stable. Kind of funnel shaped.
