  • @Matt, Do you practice Sanchin Kata? The benefits of Sanchin kata using dynamic tension exponentially cultivates thicker, stronger, tendons. Many westerners fail by performing kata fast when it's meant to be done slowly with dynamic tension but incorporating the jee lik exulsion in the finger tips at the end of extension to release the tension. Sanchin is why Okinawan karatekas don't suffer torn tendons & torn rotator cuffs even in their older age in Okinawa. . .unlike many western martial artists & combat athletes.

  • Hi matt! I am 15 years old.Should i condition my knuckles with car tires?Hitting car tires, i mean.Punching a hard heavy bag does not do a lot for me anymore, in terms of conditioning knuckles.Thanks

    @riskysway2542@riskysway2542 Жыл бұрын
    • Not yet. Your bones are still growing and you can stunt their growth or create deformation of the bones which can’t be fixed. You need to give it a little time. Right now focus on proper punch form and build muscle with push-ups and pull-ups and dips. Wait until you stop growing for the conditioning. The bag is enough for now. Tires aren’t the best either because they rebound too much and can shoot the energy back into the hand causing damage. An old school makiwara is best and you can make your own. Thanks for your question. If you are like me you don’t like being told not to do something. Hahaha. But don’t learn from your own injuries. The old guys have made all the mistakes already - learn from that.

    • @@pasquinilli just to know, what are some things that i can do to beat a very big fat guy?Kinda 4 years older than me, picking on me a lot.Very fat and much taller than me.Probably twice my size.Telling someone aint an option.

      @riskysway2542@riskysway2542 Жыл бұрын
    • @@riskysway2542 it’s frustrating that telling someone doesn’t work, but I get it. Size doesn’t really matter. Self defense should focus on weak areas like solar plexus, leg kick to the thigh with your shin, stomp to the top of the foot with your foot, etc… But being able to speak up for yourself and carry yourself in a way that can avoid the fight is best.

    • @@pasquinilli oh i tried, but nothing is changing.They are 5, all 12th graders, they are minimum 17 yo.I am 15.I was thinking of getting the fat one, kick him in the ball$, grab his shirt collar and whack his nose with 2 straights.But then?I cannot just let it pass all the time. Keeping in mind i am 60 kg, that guy is probably 100+ kg...

      @riskysway2542@riskysway2542 Жыл бұрын
    • @@riskysway2542 I don’t advocate fighting. Only as a last resort. Having said that, in my experience, a straight right to the solar plexus knocks the wind out and stops the fight faster without damaging your hand. It’s also more unexpected.
