Great conversation, thank you. I would argue, 1. 1987 crash was due to the plaza accord. 2. The value of a country’s currency is based on the confidence in that country’s government. 3. Interest rates spiking up will be the straw that breaks the debt donkeys back this time around. 4. The majority of financial bullshit is in the EU and emerging markets, to much US dollar denominated debt. 5. As the value of the dollar/interest rates go up, the above mentioned US dollar denominated debt will be payed off faster creating a self reinforcing feedback loop sending a lot of dollars back to the US. 6. Repo crisis is Deutsche bank, it will fail. 7. People will lose confidence in all central banks when they are not able to contain any of the above.
20 trillion is the US debt About 40% of global debt is in US dollars. That’s about 100 trillion, so 5x the US number What happens if the dollar and/or interest rates go up? ......take a look at the situation in Turkey.

The material these guys provide is high quality (as well as their reading lists)... I’m a contemporary of theirs and their observations mirrors a lot of my own life observations. I’ve learnt from them and put into practice several of the things they have advised and for the most part have worked well for me
