  • It's crazy that at just 23 years of age, Julian Alvarez has won almost every trophy available to him, like won everything while playing in the Argentinian league, for the Argentina national team, won the World Cup, Copa America and Finalissma, and playing on that star studded Manchester City team helps but also won the premier league champions league FA Cup and UEFA Super Cup which is an incredible resume for him and he's already won more trophies than Harry Kane(JK bout to win some trophies now that he plays on Bayern Munich). In the 2022/23 season Julian Alvarez literally won the World Cup for Argentina and the treble for Manchester City in the same season, and even if he wasn't the best player for either his club or country, as a backup striker for City, he bagged 17 goals and for Argentina at the World Cup, he scored 4 goals and he wasn't expected to be a starter for his country in the tournament and when he got his chance he delivered, and that alone being part of 2 successful teams despite being nowhere near the most important player means that he's gonna finish very high in the Ballon Dor this year maybe top 10 because team success has been emphasized in Ballon Dor rankings over the years. If he continues winning trophies at this rate and will win more because he plays on Manchester City, Julian Alvarez will end up being one of the most decorated players in football history.

    • I mean, his first trophy was the 2018 Copa Libertadores final... Arguably the biggest and most important final in history of the Copa Libertadores. River Plate and Boca Juniors are the biggest clubs in Argentina, they have by far the most amount of fans and they have possibly the most bitter rivalry in all of football... Furthermore, they are also some of the biggest clubs in all of South America! So you know how high the stakes were for this final... Legends from both clubs said that they would change all of their trophies, for winning this final. Keep in mind that Boca Juniors won against Real Madrid in the year 2000 in the FIFA World Cup, and one of the players that was on the field that day said that he would change that trophy for this final against River Plate! So yeah, this wasn't another Copa Libertadores final... It was THE COPA LIBERTADORES FINAL. And that was Julian Alvarez first trophy.

  • It's not just the trophies he's won, Julian Alvarez at the moment is one of the best young strikers in world football. He has been contributed to the success he's enjoyed for club and country over the last 12 months, playing well as a backup striker at Manchester City with goals and putting in excellent performances when called upon, and for Argentina, we all saw how good he was at the World Cup. He's a player who can start on any team in the world and Manchester City are just too star studded when you got a player like Julian Alvarez who isn't guaranteed to start for your team week in week out, he's very very good. Now this season at Manchester City due to the injury of Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan leaving the club for Barcelona in the summer, Julian Alvarez has had a bigger role in the side as a CF SS CAM alongside Erling Haaland and he's thriving as a starter scoring 4 goals 3 assists, showcasing his playmaking skills and adds more scoring to the team, he's had an impressive start to the season and when everyone's fit for Manchester City, it'll be interesting to see how long he keeps up his starting place. We all know that Erling Haaland gets all the spotlight due to the amount of goals he scores and other players have received a lot of praise as well, Julian Alvarez has been terrific for Manchester City as a starter/backup player and over the last 12 months for club and country, his stock has been rising and rising, hope he stays at City for the long run because Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez, that's a devasting partnership that can work out.

  • His World Cup Final was definitely great. His performance wasn't about being a number 9 but to relentlessly run after the ball between Varane, Upamecano and Tchouamení. Lionel Scaloni, Argentina's manager used him to completely nullify Tchouamení being able to receive a ball and try to get Varane and Upamecano to pass the ball to Kounde's side. Because, even if he's a great player, Kounde's main position isn't playing at rightback. So even if he didn't create clear goal oportunities. The main strategy was to make that side weaker, also using Di Maria to create chances on the attack for that side, which was masterfully planned, to be honest.
