Gary, yesterday there was a sadcstory in the local newspaper. Aparently, an New Zealand elderly couple, both over 80yrs old, have been killed by their RAM on their hobby farm. They have had the farm for 8 yrs, with sheep, chickens and a few cows. The couple were found in the fields, deceased. Another person was injured, and police attending were also attacked by the Ram, and police were forced to shoot the Ram. That is something I had not considered a risk, Bull or Horses ues, but not by sheep, except I have seen your Ram also tending to be inclined to charge at people. Do keep safe as you clearly have been doing, and keeping it away from the children.
They are dangerous
To avoid having to use fertilizer next year, you need to plant some nitrogen fixing plants which include any legumes (beans). Also, this Fall in Oklahoma you could do alfalfa in the whole garden. It is something your animals will enjoy and also puts nitrogen back in the soil. Down here in Florida a lot of us do peanuts and my goats really like the peanut hay
while I was in hospital went to stone county ER for chest pain and initial EKG was normal then everything turned bad ended up being life fliighted down to MHG WENT straight to cath lab. Then up CCU. IT WAS MOST DEFINITELY DEVINE INTERVENTION. that saved my life and am now home. My husband was by my side as much as they would let him and am so blessed to have him my daughter Kristi N Joby Buras my grandson Drew and granddaughter PEYTYN Elizabeth and my best friend Martena Jamieson’s by my side Again thanks for the prayers and would ask to keep them coming as we fully recover. I really feel good today. Thank you all for your love and support. Now with also having bad kidney my labs for my kidney has diminished during all of this which may push me to dialysis and maybe transplant

Prayers going up for you, Nancy!🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hi Gary, I hope that your garden and pasture do well. I had a small garden and I just enjoyed it. I have never heard of black diamond watermelon. Thank you for letting us visit with your animals. Prayers and blessings to all in need. Love to you all. ❤
Black diamond is dark red and very sweet, more round than oval
And, black diamond watermelons taste the absolute BEST! Sweet 😋
Yum! 😋@@catchingupwiththewalkers
@@catchingupwiththewalkers My dad grew up on a farm in Oklahoma between Okeen and Fairview Oklahoma. He taught us to use one handful of bone mill and one handful of epson sa. It really helped to grow the tomato plants 🍅
My granddaddy always had a big big field of watermelons. He would plant black diamonds which were our favorite. Thank you for wonderful memories. ❤❤
In my State, I'm not able to foster, as I'm both old, and single, and I have no way to care for a kid while I'm at work. Not that I would even consider it, as I'd never be able to provide the care a child needs, at my age. Those of you that foster, kudos to you, you are doing the Gods work.
Please pray for the families of the two ladies in Hugoton, KS who were murdered. They are only about 30 minutes from where I live.
🙏🏼🙏🏼
🙏🙏
Hope you get what you need to get your soil where it needs to be. The animals look like they're going good. Prayers for all in need. GOD bless y'all.
My mom always planted Zinnias in the garden to help keep bugs away
My husband surgery went well today Thank you for the prayers
I am glad you escaped your cubical. Time is short, and so precious and we enjoy watching your channel.
Beautiful weather here in East TN. It is 74 and sunshine. I used to put out a big garden every year but now I’m 73 with severe arthritis so I can’t do it anymore but I still put out tomato’s and cherry tomatoes. I always circled my garden with marigolds.
Angie We are neighbors
Where do you live?
Angie and Marie, I am in Greeneville. Where are you ladies?
We don't plant our plants until Memorial Day weekend here in northern Michigan. Woke to 38 degrees this morning with two nights in the lower 30's coming up.
I use marigolds and herbs like cilantro, also onions help get rid of the squash bugs as well as putting coffee grounds around the plants to fight all kinds of insects and grubs
Jason on cog hill has just started planting his garden and he plants marigold in between his tomatoes and squash and other stuff as ther really good bed partners for healthy plants…im planting soon it’s been to cold and wet here…those baby chics are amazingly cute…my sound is fine…well I’m half Scottish (highland) and half British( British white) so that calf is same as me 😂😂😂 I was born in Dumbarton in Scotland… 74 yrs ago my mums family were Scottish and Irish and fathers family were British…I will be 75yrs young in July…😜 go to Lochlomand if you and Cassie go to Scotland … those wasps eat the fly larvi so they don’t hatch into more flies… Baby Pharoah is home after just 3 days God is good…I am blessed that I am 4 1/2 yrs cancer free so great ful for every morning I wake up… 🙏❤️god bless you and your family Gary…🙏
Can’t wait for a baby donkey to be born. Thank you for contributing to your community thru the food bank❤. God’s blessings
God bless you Gary, Cassie, and kids. Thank you for fostering Little Bear. Thank you for all of your videos.
I used to be a pediatric home healthcare nurse, and for years I worked with the Amish and they put miracles around their garden every year to get good results
Yes. Caring for the children and vunerable is our human reaponsibility. You guys live what you preach . So proud of you all
Hi Gary, I love the donkeys. Wishing the donkeys good luck with their pregnancy tests.😊
Thank you for sharing the farm & all. It’s so wonderful seeing the animals, the family all joining in chores around the farm.
My mom passed in 2021 but one of her favorite things was to go to East Texas at least once a summer to get black diamond and crimson sweet watermelons from the fruit stands dotted along the road side. I miss those trips with her amongst many other things. It's 55 here now but feels warmer because of the humidity. We're supposed to have highs in the low 60's all weekend, rain tomorrow, so it's going to be a nice break from the warmer temps we've had lately.
On your next vacation your going to travel by Laughlin Nevada, bullhead Arizona most likely where I own apartments, looking forward to seeing your vacation videos have a great day weather is beautiful in Southern Missouri
We live in Idaho and we will plant after Mother's Day. Love homegrown tomato's.....👩🌾
Yaw'lls flowers are Lovely, Mr. GARY... 🎉
Cool chat about the soil results!
Way down south in FL, I planted Cherry tomatoes about Five months ago, this season has been fantastic, reaping what I sewed, sharing them with all the family.
Cog Hill Farm uses a type of wasp that helps control flies. I thought that was interesting when they did a video on it. The wasps kill the eggs or larvae if I’m remembering correctly. Crazy all the natural ways we can use to control pests when you start looking into them.
My mom and her husband planted the garden with a donkey .moms husband Complain that the donkey walked to fast. Mom had to lead the donkey to slow her down.working in the garden. My dad passed when I was nine months old,I am now 75 .
The marigolds definitely helped keep the hornworms off of the tomatoes last year. Only found 1 the entire season. I didn’t know that they would help with squash bugs tho. I think I’ll wait to see what happens in your space and MAYBE reconsider planting squash for 2025🧐. You’ve got a beautiful herd of cattle Gary.
We love you too, Gary.❤️ Glad we can help you stay on the 🚜 ! God's blessings to all the Walkers😊❤🙏
Those chicks are so cute! Many different kinds correct? I have never heard of black diamond watermelons 🤔 I wish I could have a small garden. But with my lung problems I am on oxygen 24/7 , the heat, humidity, & when the wind blows it takes my breath away! So when the weather is weird I stay inside if can. You have some really pretty calfs. Everyone is looking great Gary!! 🎉😊 Can't wait for the garden to start growing you are going to have a nice sized one😊 Thank you for taking us on a walk around with you, it was fun & interesting info. Pretty flowers for Cassie I watched you & the kids plant them 😊. Well I should let you go. From Iowa, take care God Bless & have a great rest of your day. Tell the family hello 😊 ❤🥰🙏👍🤗✝️
Hi Gary. My Grandpa always grew Black Diamond. I agree they are the Best! Marigolds are great controlling bugs. The chicks are soo cute. Nice looking tomatoes. Thank you for the video.
We would often plant the Three Sisters. Corn first, then beans once the corn began to grow so the beans could use the stalk to climb. Third, squash, around the corn and bean mound for shade and water retention. The 3 support each other.
Be sure to save your dead marigold flowers. You may be able to circle your garden in just a couple years. Just keep them in a jar so critters cant eat them in your shed. Keep the videos coming ❤ !
My daughter and son in law went through almost 8 months of classes and home preparation to become foster parents. Then, after their last interview/home inspection, they were told that they didn't qualify as foster parents. They were told that they were "too good/nice." Their 43:23 43:23 children would suffer from the bad habits or personalities of the 5-10 year old children in the age group they trained for. The whole family was devastated.
Wow! Never heard of that
I’m planting my garden this weekend. Can’t wait for zucchini and squash to cook up. I didn’t have any luck with strawberries until I added sand to the soil, then they went crazy.
I always loved to plant marigolds, they produce lots of bright colorful flowers. My mother used to plant them around our garden and it had something to do with helping with bugs if memory serves me right.
Amber is a synonym of Hazel and is a Nice Name. Congrats!😇🙏❤
Yes I've used Marigolds for the last 4 years now and I think they're fantastic! I don't see any pests on my tomatoes at all! I plant one Marigold beside each Tomato. They are easy to start from seeds too. Next year or even now they would be a good flower for Mazzie to start!
I love the walk and talk with you. I always plant marigolds in pots on my deck to keep away mosquitoes and it works.
I just love JoJo! He’s so grateful for scratches and attention. Just like me. 🤭
I used have my oldest son mow my back acre but I had to put a good size rock on the seat but I he would have so much fun but he was supervised.
Gary, Here in Maine we get squash bugs too. The merigolds do not work here but we found a solution...we use mothball crystals or moth balls crushed and spread around the plants. This also helps keep chipmonks and squirrels away from garden plants. I have peas, cuke, beans, zucchini and tomatoes started inside. That last ice & snow storm really pushed our garden back by a month along with the builder clearing two lots behind our house.
My grandfather always said the Black Diamond watermelon was the best he ever had. Redman soil test is really a good thing to do. Might need to try for my garden.
Hi Gary. I loved hearing the news about the property PH etc , great to see JoJo
Gary please move mom with chicks to bigger area together. She will continue to teach them and protect them. She will wean them away from her when she is ready. Usually after she starts laying again.
You drink plain water, which I can't stand, unless I add EmergenC vitamin c powder. My water has to be the carbonated "sparkling" water.
Hey Gary, I would like to ask you for prayer for myself and my husband. We take care of my brother who is a disabled veteran who can’t walk talk or eat we’re so caregiver we get if we’re lucky 15 hours of Help a week we are looking to find somebody to come in 12 more hours a week That won’t rob us blind financially or physically. Also would ask that you pray for my friend Amy and her husband Larry and his family as they lost his mother last night Liz Perdue. And I would ask for your prayers on top of my husband and nice medical problems but also in helping us find a new home church. We just want to get back to church. I just wanna get back to church. I miss the community. I miss the spirituality. I miss the activityand is causing me some depression and anxiety. I pray for your family every night so excited when we see little feet so cute his little feet are so cute. I hope you have an amazing weekend. God bless and much more.❤✝️💜🙏🏻
🙏🏼🙏🏼
Prayers for all! I know God will lead you to the right church for you. Big love and hugs from Georgia.
I forgot to tell you, I'm from North Central Iowa.
Here in PEI Canada, we can't plant till end of May or beginning of June.
Thank you Gary for the helpful gardening info. God Bless
Moab! Coming thru Blanding? We used to live in Moab, still have family living there, and plenty buried there. I love Redmond! Looking forward to watching your family enjoy Utah!
We can’t wait
I ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO GARY 😊
Kinda surprised that you are not planting pumpkins..
MARIGOLDS will produce seeds... I collect mine...fyi chickens love MARIGOLDS ❤
Good correlation ‘planting a seed.’ Both cases.❤🎉
We have beets and onions, but still waiting for May before we plant tomatoes
I found something that work a lot better than Marigolds for squash beetles and that is Lavender,
Thanks for the nice farm update Gary.
Please pray food my cousin, Michael. He had a grand maul seizure week and just got out of the hospital. He does not know the Lord Jesus.
🙏🙏🙏
He is in my Prayers. I also suffer from epilepsy and know the struggle all too well. Lord Bless you all
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hi Gray its great watching your channel the kids are growing up so fast
Love and prayers 😇💜
Gary get two vertical green stalks and put a good mix recommend Fox farm ocean forest potting mix. There are two types depending on what you want. You will be able to grow strawberries successfully
What a fun summer trip. Hopefully you will be at Redmond on a day we could meet you there, it’s very fascinating.
I just love your plants that your going to plant!😊😊
💕🙏🏼 from Southern IL
Great video seeing around the farm ....Stay safe and see you on the next one...God bless
Love you all ❤
Your garden is looking good. Hope the soil adjustments work well for the best results. ❇️💞❇️
Prayers needed for fast recovery of foot surgery and endocarditis
🙏🏼🙏🏼
Love to you all from pdx Oregon
I've heard numerous benefits of marigolds as a pest deterrent, such as rabbits deer and mosquitoes tend to find someplace else to hangout rather than be around marigolds.
Thank you Gary for this live.
I haven't started mine yet as it has been to chilly especially at night. This year it's going to be tomatoes, sweet peppers, bell peppers, and onions. I'm planting Roma tomatoes for canning and steak tomatoes for sandwiches.
You’re doing great🎉
I planted garlic & that really helped reduce pests .
I am gardening for the first time this year. In Scotland so very different temps than you have. I have tomatoes growing in my new greenhouse. I planted lettuce. Carrots, cabbage, onions and pak choi in a cloth raised bed because I struggle being close to the ground. The old dog cage came in handy putting the raised bed on top of it but I intend to try cucumber around the outside making it useful as a recycled garden. I have peas and cucomelon growing on a frame as well. So here’s hoping for a bumper crop and I also started to dehydrate veggies so nothing will be wasted The joys of retirement
Sound great!
That was so funny right as you said Mr Jingles doesn't like belly scratches our cat rolled over demanding belly scratches. Great video. Sorry, had to catch in a replay. The marigolds work better some years than others, the more the neighbors plant the better the garden tends to do. We rarely plant them except in the tomatoes sometimes
🤣
Enjoyed your video and loved seeing the animals ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi Gary. Thanks for sharing
I plant flower seeds. I wait until Mother’s Day. I’m close to Cincinnati
Beautiful cattle. Sounds fine
Sounds is great
That's cool how they suggest the amount of fertilizer...I add nitrogen slowly during fall and winter so that the soil is ready for the spring si plants grow and produce...don't want to much green overgrowth in the spring ❤
You are never alone.
Enjoyed the video.
Love the fluffy chicks.❤
I watch you everyday but I don't take much but injoy you and family love U
Thank you
