    • It’s like you want each component to hit max velocity at the same time. Elasticity adds delay. So one way syncing can be accomplished by matching elasticity. This is always how I’ve thought about projectile biomechanics. For any swing or throw, you want your shoulders, upper arms, forearms, and wrists to all hit max velocity right at the point of contact (assuming adequate control). It’s like a whip. This is also ideally at the point of full extension, which is why a clean follow-through is important.

Its almost as if... the paddle and baseball system transfers the kinetic energy of the total mass of the bat to the ball. • You can probably design special porting to slow the extension of the piston rods by shifting any residual propellant charge from behind the piston to the front of the piston. You would need to have a piston coupled to the rods that is of a greater diameter than the rods. I understand that some aircraft flight controls have hydraulic dampeners which use tapered components within the control cylinders which effectively slow the flow of oil by acting as a metering valves which come into play as the cylinders near the end of their stroke. It seems that this could be of help in controlling the deceleration of this device.
